We were looking for something to eat in Stellenbosch that was halaal when we came across Watami Sushi and Asian cuisine.
We were pleasantly surprised. The sushi was delicious and you could pick and chose from this long conveyor belt.
The staff was amazing and I loved that there was no waiting. Will definitely return to this place. 👌

I really enjoy coming to Watami. The food is always excellent and it's usually quiet with a warm ambiance. It's the perfect place to go for Asian cuisine on a budget. The meals are deliciously prepared on time. This includes in-dining, delivery and takeaway. I always feel welcome at this establishment and leave satisfied.

It's amazing that you can have Thai and chinese and other asain dishes as part of the sushi buffet. Crispy chicken sides are great!
There are other sushi places but none matches Watami's value for money and great options- none in Stellenbosch, or anywhere in JHB, PE, CT or KZN, that I was able to find.
Make sure your order is taken properly if you're ordering on the buffet, but that's amazing since you can order and not only take off the belt.

The all-you-can-eat sushi market seems pretty saturated in Stellenbosch, but this place takes the spot of best in town I believe. It has a belt, service is friendly, you get a massive variety of both Chinese food and sushi on the belt that is constantly being churned out by the skilled chefs at an impressive speed, and it is cheaper than places like Nuri. Definitely a value for money kind of place.

We have been there countless times and every time it’s amazing. The food is very nice and definitely worth the price. We always go for the buffet and there is more than plentiful and we roll out the doors when done, haha. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and professional. Did the buffet yesterday for R155, was very nice. Large selection of sushi and 2 Chinese main meals, chow mein and fried rice and even desert, chocolate spring rolls. Staff is friendly and the vibe is cozy and casual. Will definitely be going back.

Probably one of the best sushi buffet experiences I 've had in a long time. The sushi was fresh and there were so many options to choose from every time. Besides the fantastic sushi, one of the things that really stood out for me was the staff, what a pleasure! They were so friendly, attentive and walked around with constant smiles on their faces. I can't wait to dine out here again. If you are looking for tasty yet decently priced sushi buffet, look no further, this place is definately value for money.

Had sushi for the first real time and decided to come here, was not disappointed at all. I loved the sushi omw it made me fall in love with it and I'm completely hooked:) Décor abit on the plain side, can do alot more with the place and service was relatively okay. They do make up in food though so that's really a bonus. I would recommend this place for any and everyone, you will not regret it!

Decent sushi restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the variety is plentiful. However the size of the portions are small, ordered a tempura fashion sandwich and it was very small,disappointing but made up for it in taste. In addition, its a bit bare in terms of decor,few pictures on the white wall and thats about it. The music was also loud. The service was decent, the waiting time for the sushi was short. Recommend to anyone looking for a quick lunch. The menu has options to make you wonder if your favourite really is your favourite.

In the Eikestad mall very hidden I would say and I was happy to have found and tried this place. It's my regular stop for sushi. My absolute favorite is the New Style Sashimi. I have eaten it at a couple different places and this one still comes out tops. They are super reasonable and portions are huge. Love it!!

I am ever so sorry I went to buy a take out at Watami. I bought 2 meals and left for home in Cape Town. My kids complained about the food. One small piece of chicken in the "chicken" chop suey and one small piece of "chicken" in the chow main. I phoned and the person James lied about his name. I called again and then Rian lied about the owners name. Did not want to give the owners details. Felt completely disgusted with the food and treatment. "Rian" but the phone down without having completed the conversation. Students beware. They planned their evening strategy. BAD SERVICE- Bad public Relations

I always look out for little sushi bars in Cape Town. What drew me to this one was the fact that the waiter at the door had the brightest smile on his face. Their prices are also a reason to give them a try.<br/><br/>I ordered a four piece crumbed fashion sandwich. It has a tangy mayo sauce and it comes with a honey based glaze. It is filled with the creamiest avo and the freshest salmon. It was perfect. I decided to order a main as well and I went with a cashew nut chicken dish. The dish is good, but it was slightly too salty for my liking.<br/><br/>Nevertheless, I will come back here just to see that waiter's smile again.

The price is best. U only need to spend 59 rand for 3 plates. Or 129 all u can eat. Also salmon rosés. And they takeaway special is also the best. Chinese food bring me the time I am in China. Quality sushi. The building has been upgraded recently and is a great place to eat tasty sushi. Their buy 2 platters and get 1 free special for R220 is also quite cool. Prices are very affordable as opposed to some other places in Stellenbosch. Service is also speedy.
