I expected to enjoy a nice lunch! What followed was a delicious eye- and mouth catching „best ever 3 course journey“ at mid of day with excellent Kaapzicht wines! Will be back for sure, thank you!
Had such a fabulous meal last night. 5 of us and every course and dish was just delicious. Service was great too. Well done!
I took my parents here as a treat, the food was fantastic and we had a really great time. One of the waiters remembered my name from my voice over the phone making the reservation which was very impressive. Unfortunately the waiter that was assigned to us was slightly sub-par, he would very seldom come outside and when he did he would leave before taking any drinks orders. This is obviously in no way a reflection of the kitchen and the great food that they produce.
Absolutely excellent food! Jardine being 9th in the country rated by Eat out has definitely earned its spot. The flavours are clean and bursting different tastes.
Wonderful evening for two celebrating Jennifer’s birthday- great service, exceptional flavors and presentation, perfect cost corner tables.
Amazing service, very professional staff and amazing food cooked with passion and presented as art. A definite must when visiting Stellenbosch.
What an amazing experience this was 💕
The food were all naturally sourced and has such intense yet simple flavors.
The plating was perfection💯 Truly art!
The flavors were mesmerizing and the portions are quite big.
I would definitely return and recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable fine dining experience!
This is Jewel of note. The Venue is intimate and rustic. Servies is good with staff who know their product and make you welcome. Although the menu is not extensive. The food is simply out standing. I rate this restaurant as one of the to 3 meals I have eaten. Thank you for the care taken in preparing each course.
Fantastic!
Had 6 course tasting menu!
Most fabulous fine dining experience of my life!
The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better!
Exceeded all of our expectations ♡♡♡
A definite Must Do when in the area!
As an added benefit the service was excellent!
George Jardine has to be my favourite chef in South Africa. His menus are uncomplicated, no-fuss food, with robust, honest flavours and none of the pixie dust or irritating 13 course degustation menus you find in many top tier restaurants that leave you crying for something to just eat. The presentation is always stunning and fresh, the taste combinations a perfect match and if you want to eat proper food that is beautifully plated (not just edible art) then Jardine is the restaurant to go to. Jardine is small and intimate and wouldn't be out of place in a small European town with only a dozen or so tables. Decent value that won't break the bank. One of the best in South Africa, without the pomp and circumstance.
My girlfriend and I are George Jardine fans (and often talk about our experience at Jordan) so Jardine hit the bucket list as soon as it opened. In short, if you like Jordan, Jardine is essential! The food is similar - fresh, wholesome and delightful flavours and combinations that left us smiling. The setting is romantic and relaxing, perfect for date night. I'll definitely be back!
Excellent food and service. Perfect serving sizes. Best fine dining restaurant in Stellenbosch! My starter of stuffed zucchini flower was perfectly balanced and the hake was sublime. The vanilla mouse was light as air and not too sweet and the strawberry coulis was the perfect accompaniment. The vanilla ice cream tasted like vanilla bean and was excellent!
Absolutely incredible meal. Excellent service and well priced wine list. Cannot recommend this place enough. Best night out I had in ages!
Amazing food, incredible selection of wines, great host and management. Incredible meal as always
One of our favourite places to go in Stellenbosch. Always a welcoming feel. The food never disappoints. Great flavour combinations, beautiful presentation and well balanced.
Wine selection is fantastic, something for everyone and all food friendly
This is Jewel of note. The Venue is intimate and rustic. Servies is good with staff who know their product and make you welcome. Although the menu is not extensive. The food is simply out standing. Fairly limited menu, but what they serve is good.
Reasonable wine list with some quality wines too.
There's a well priced Business lunch special, which is well priced, and you get a free glass of wine too. It goes on until 3pm too.
The food at Jardine is simply amazing! There is a limited selection (3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 desserts), and you can have either a 2-course or a 3-course dinner. Considering the size of the dishes, I'd recommend a 3-course dinner.
The food itself is beautifully presented, and taste is out of this world! Having skipped the starters, we had the agnolotti and the springbok and both were excellent. The desserts were good, but nothing spectacular compared to the mains.
The only reason Jardine is not getting a 5-star rating is that during the course of the evening quite a few tables ordered the fish main course, and the smell in the space quickly became quite fishy - which also gave away the fact that the fish was not fresh.
Will we go back? Definitely, as soon as the seasonal menu changes!
Magnificent! Our first visit to Jardine Restaurant and we were delighted with the overall experience. It was a special event with wine pairing from Rainbows End. The first course George Jardine whipped up as we congregated on the pavement in front of the restaurant. A morsel of delightful curried mussels nesting on a toasted bunny pillow. Now that our senses had been woken we headed inside for our next pairing. A peak into the open prep area revealed the chef activity around the next course of Stemed Pork Belly Dumpling with artichoke which paired with the Merlot. Our final savoury course with the Family Reserve was a red wine poached Hake, garlic and cauliflower. The Chocolate Fondant, chantilly and coffee icecream with the Cab Franc rounded off the affair. Very good food, service and atmosphere
We were seated in a quiet place by the chimney. The menu changes often and I have read other people have been disappointed on other nights: our dinner experience was fantastic!
Appetizer: Yellowfin tuna and citrus ceviche
Main course: Aged Chalmar fillet
Dessert: House baked brioche pain perdu, Cointreau soaked raisins and orange blossom ice cream.
All this for a reasonable price. Plus great company so it was a perfect evening.
Good service and good food. Guaranteed quality. A tad pricey.
Great restaurant with sophisticated organic food, fine wines, elegant, detailed and, the same time, simple interior.
Must visit & worth travel. Not for a quick bite, great for dinner and a deliberate lunch.
The book of the story of the chief, his approach and recipes is available to read and to buy.
Impressed!
Enjoyed our lunch thoroughly, and the food is beautifully presented. Thank you!
