Excellent. Was not very busy but the food was amazing. Really had a great time. First time I been to the fat ginger. Won't be the last. Lady who served us was very friendly. She handled everything well enough.
Went for a fundraising supper in aid of Edenvale Care Centre. This was arranged by Specichem. The place was packed! The organisation of the event was excellent. Waiters were allocated to specific tables and our waiter was great. Orders taken, drinks served, and within a reasonable time the food arrived. The various dishes were well prepared and presented and all were scrumptious. I greatly enjoyed my ox livers and mash. I was impressed by how smoothly everything went. Well worth a visit!
We had a good experience here. Our waiter was very friendly and checked up on us often. The menu has quite a good variety and the pricing is quite good, especially if you go when they have specials. The food was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Would recommend it

I’ve always had an amazing time at The Fat Ginger (even from before when it was still The Keg and Beagle). A classy pub vibe with great entertainment (their Thursday quiz nights are one of the best!) and top class, homey pub food. Plus the wine list is so reasonably priced. I must also add that their covid protocols were excellent. Most restaurants have dropped the ball lately but TFG goes out of their way to make you feel safe and comfortable.
The owner Chris is always welcoming and adds to the atmosphere of making you feel like you belong there. We got invited to try out a few of their dishes and they were absolutely delicious. The menu is heading more towards a Gastropub vibe, and perfect for trying something different with a group of people. We had:
Bacon Sushi • Definitely for the meat lovers! Crispy bacon wrapped around juicy mince (same used in their famous burger patties) with a melty cheesy centre. Very delicious and indulgent.
Pulled Pork Tacos • Flavourful and tender pulled pork with a mountain of toppings, these tacos are large and yummy.
Tortilla Chips & Guacamole • A small nibbly portion, but wow some of the best guac I’ve ever had! Plus the tortilla chips were so crispy and divine.
TFG Falafel Balls • Not your ordinary falafels. Super crunchy and with a more wholesome texture, but very delish. And the hummus was yum 🤤
Nutella Churro Balls • A must-have if you’re a chocolate lover! Crunchy churro bites filled with chocolate sauce, these are definitely a winner.

We religiously attend Fat Ginger on a Wednesday night for their steak special! It’s such a pleasure. The service is exceptional, with our beer or brandy and coke always being full! The food is amazing and supporting our “local” is always a good idea. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good bar vibe but also a nice place to grab an affordable meal! 10/10
Basically an English Pub. I enjoyed my visit there with my wife and sons friends. The food was well prepared and tasty. The milkshake I had was divine. It may be a bit noisy for some , as the live band is quite loud.
Great man united bar. Some people do get rowdy at times but clean fun. The atmosphere is amazing if you’re a man united supporter. Food is delicious. Service is great and great drinks specials. Televisions literally everywhere so you don’t miss any action no matter where you are sitting. Go early as it gets busy. They even have a puffmi disposable vape vending machine😁🙏
Fat Ginger has a hearty vibe and a great atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the service is amazing! We're regulars there and we love it!
The renovations look amazing!!! All new furniture, a new menu, new televisions, place has been painted with new lights and is looking gorgeous! Staff is helpful and friendly, the good and alcohol is very well priced and the atmosphere is wonderful.
