The manager at this branch is so friendly and makes sure that everything does go smoothly and quickly, unfortunately the day we went the service was extremely slow and the manager took our complaint seriously. The food was delicious as per usual. The staff were still kind and patient.

The only reason for giving a 3 start is really the waiting period for your food. Whether by Uber or by placing the order directly, it does take a while. Otherwise the burgers are mouth watering really. The chips are sometimes served cold and don’t know why that is. Sometimes the chips are too hard and not as fresh as other times. That’s also a downer for me. We usually go for a quick bite or takeout.

The staff here is awesome. The food is great, and it doesn't take long to get to you. You can tell that everyone who works here takes pride in being here. Did I mention that the waffles are awesome? Well, they are.

Fantastic example of the franchise! Great staff, great food and easily the best burgers for miles! A basic selection of craft beers is appreciated (If pricey) though their use of paper straws quickly renders any fizzy drink flat in seconds (Along with potentially projecting your drink all over the table by the straw from the de-carbonisation). Overall, a great place for a bite to eat

When I tell you that everything about this everything is top tier, believe me because I was impressed. I went there on the 2nd of this month which is April with my boyfriend for a date and their service was perfect,the food was delicious, my boyfriend's favorite part was the waffles we had for dessert Delicious!!!!! And lastly the music was also very accomodative for everyone. Thank you for the wonderful service Rocomamas Roodepoort! Keep it up!

The staff are just awesome. They’re friendly and they make you feel really comfortable as soon as you enter. This was actually the first restaurant that I’ve been to where the manager was genuinely a nice person which is new to me seeing as managers(at other restaurants) usually just walk around and wait till your mouth is full of food so that they can ask you if you’re fine and then you have to try and mumble and say “yes” because you feel disgusted with the way you ‘attacked’ your plate of food and you just want them to walk away from you so that you can continue eating your food as violently as you were This is one of the few places that I’ve given a full 5-stars to because everything just seems so perfect...you’re well taken care of, the food portions are great, the staff are friendly, the atmosphere in general is just great A little side note: I’ve ordered many MANY items from the sides menu as well as most of the desserts and the two items that I’d recommend you try, and order whenever you get the chance to, are the ChilliCheez** Fries and the Cookies&Cream waffles

I give this RocoMamas a 4/5 because my partner and I mostly just had the milkshakes, chicken strips and the cheese covered chips. Honestly they are so kind here, i dont think ive actually been to any of their branches that didnt have lovely staff. When we ordered the turbo fries with chilli(cant rememeber the name rn) we asked if we could have jalapeno instead of chillies and they were so kind as to make that happen for us. We also came here on a cold day where it was drizzling and they put out a heater for people sitting outside which was very nice and cozy, would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic food with an awesome vibe. They also have a great beer selection and play the best music which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Waited very long for the food to arrive. We saw the dishes standing for so long on the counter getting cold but didn't think it was ours until the waiter picked it up and brought it to our table. Spoke to the manager who took it back. Even tho the wings were warmed up and nachos redone. The experience of having to complain in the first place was dissapointing. Why don't the waiters just bring the food that's ready instead of waiting for whatever the last dish is to get done and all the other food get cold. And in our case he was waiting for cheesy fries�

Waited long for food and waiter hardly checked on us would of had easy more drinks and deserts if were attended to better and this is 4th time disappointed in this branch even after the owner/manager Jonothan had called me previously and apologized and is working on the service and assured it will be better on my next visit. won’t be going back to Rocomamas again !

Our waitress, who's name I unfortunately cannot recall, was amazing. She made my daughter's 9th birthday extra special. All the staff were fabulous and the food was excellent. I can't say thank you enough for giving that bit extra to make my daughter's birthday one to remember. The smile on her face was priceless. We all had a great birthday celebration �

Guys you have gone from 5 stars to 3 in my books. Get rid of the lousy call centre service. They really put me off tonight. Rude and unhelpfull. Made what was supposed to be a Friday night relax treat into a nightmare of screaming babies and cold food. I did chat to the manager. Really hope he took what I said to heart. Focus on the good food and service, thats what drew everyone to you in the first place. Dont become just another crappy chain. The dogs had half our burgers and all the fries. We usually relished the left overs for the next morning. I would have been more relaxed if I joined the drive thru que next door. Nee man

We had the most amazing host serving at our table, unfortunately the kitchen messed up an order and a vegetarian was served meat. I find this to be disastrous as we were not even attended to by the manager there after...Poor experience & really horrible managerial service..

Our guilty pleasure. The burgers are absolutely out of this world and so many combinations that you can create. This is by far the best place for burgers, hands down!! Oh and the Jack Daniels shakes are amazing.

Their burgers are one of the best in the country. The patty is seasoned well and I love the fact that you can create your own burger with the amazing add-on combos. I have also picked up their pork ribs which was amazing. The meat came right off the bone, which means I could probably order it on a date without worrying about being messy😂. I also got the jalapeno six bombs, which was interesting, and the chilli con carne fries, which was really good. I love the service at this specific joint. They are always friendly and aware of the customer. The seating arrangement is like every other franchise...comfy and chilled. They always play great music!

This was the first time I had been to a Rocomamas and I was rather disappointed. The food was okay, and our server was friendly. However, what really put me off was the preferential treatment that a certain table was given because they seemed to be friends/family of the owner. Part of our order was taken by the woman who seemed to be manager/owner of the restaurant and given to this particular table - in full view of the restaurant. This resulted in our order being delivered in pieces rather than combined as it should be, which is simply poor service. It was not the server's fault at it as we watched the entire incident unfold with our server being told to wait for the rest of the order. When paying, this same woman pushed past us to get to the table receiving this preferential treatment without so much as an "excuse me" or even the usual "thank you". Based on this, I really wouldn't recommend going to this branch at all unless you know the owners personally. This is someone who clearly doesn't know how to handle a restaurant or clients!

The breakfasts are pretty good (rockNrolla). I dont know what special unicorn oil is used for the fries but it must be a special blend of awesome. I like the cool vibe of the place and overall its a good experience. The burgers are also very interesting.

Food: This was my very 1st experience at Rocomamas and it was amazing. You can choose burgers or build your own. It was amazing. The milkshakes (Freak shakes and G - Shakes) are too awesome. After an afternoon of bridesmaid duties, my friends and I were starving. We headed over to Roccomamas to satisfy our hunger. The restaurant was quiet at about 3 in the afternoon. Our server showed us a table outside which was lovely to enjoy the winter sun. I had my favourite bacon and guacamole and my friends had the special nachos burger. We enjoyed our food. The only critique I had was my glass had a lot of scratches and it looked very dirty. Besides that service was good and our table was cleared throughout our meal.

Worst possible experience second time in two weeks order full portion ribs takeout get home half portions? R530 wasted. Food ice cold obviously Saturday rush pre-pared?? So much for freshly prepared. Advice...STAY AWAY!!<br/><br/><br/>

I have enjoyed many great meals at Rocomamas, but these have all been lunches or dinners. Tried breakfast this morning and was not impressed. The meal was sparce, admittedly inexpensive.

I am a regular here but I just want to express my disappointment because ever since you stopped using the chicken filter and started using the crammed crust burger, I have been asking for you to consider going back to using the normal filet, this crammed crust is not tasty in fact it just spoils everything for me. I am not big on beef so that is why I prefer the chicken but now I am forced to eat something its ugly I have even started ordering wings instead the burger!

There is so many reviews about rocomamas , what else can I say .... , burgers are still kick ass , the franchise is just cool . Had the buffalo bill special .basically a natchos burger , was very tasty and well cooked .

I have seen Rocomamas popping up everywhere and they are always busy! We decided to give Rocomamas a go one evening because we know they make good food. The service while friendly was a little slow, granted they were busy and this was to be expected. We ordered the chili cheese bomb burger (it was one of their specials), sweet fire ribs and peri peri wings with ranch sauce and chips of course. Their chips never disappoint! The meal was perfectly prepared, the flavors good. But the highlight was the peri peri wings with ranch sauce, it was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. So it burnt your mouth and the ranch cooled it.<br/><br/>Updated: Came back after a while and was not impressed. When they first opened their food was good, tasty and well prepared. Now I get a small patty on a burger that looks like no care was taken. Everything was just smaller. The flavor was lacking. At least the chips were the same.

Okay so this is a mixed review on the food. Burgers are amazing, ribs and wings are delicious but the breakfast needs a little improvement. Today was the first time I tried their breakfast at this place and I don't know why but I wasn't that satisfied. The service here is always great and the manager always comes to Greet, but I was disappointed with the breakfast as today was the first time I tried it. I appreciate this brand for expanding their menu but there's nothing wrong with their current menu

Had the breakfast for the first time which was not as good as the main menu items. The food had a metal taste to it because of metal frying pans used. The manager acknowledged this explaining its not the first time someone complained. He was helpful. Please look into this. You guys are still the best with burgers and other stuff. Still the favourite place for me and the family to eat.

Went for takeaways and even though it took quite some time for my ordered to be ready it was worth the wait. <br/><br/>Had the Mushroom wizz which was very good & the Chilli cheese with jalapeños for my fiancé which looked the best. The burgers are substantial & filling. I enjoyed the shoestring chips with a smokey seasoning. <br/><br/>The service even for a takeaway was outstanding & super friendly. Haven't been a fan of their burgers or wings since I 1st tried the restaurant out a couple of times last year but after seeing a few posters about their breakfast menu, thought I'd try out out. Headed out there on a late & cloudy Sunday morning. Turned out to be a great decision indeed. The breakfast was actually quite nice. Really well prepared. Service was a bit on the slow side but the food was well worth the wait. I should definitely go back for the breakfast. Should be in the "Great Breakfasts" collection.

Management contacted us to come in for a meal. Service and food was good, and I'm glad that someone contacted to make things right. Will be returning soon.

Update: 2 Sept 2016<br/><br/>Came back here because it's close and once again I was left disappointed by this branch. I was given the wrong order and I only realized after the first bite when I tasted bacon and I'm not big on bacon. Once again the manager kept checking up on us it became annoying. <br/><br/><br/>I don't know man, this was probably the worst branch I've been to so far in terms of service but I'm a bit confused. So we got there and were guided to a table that was not yet cleared. So we waited for our waiter to clean it up and maybe us being there and staring at him made him a bit nervous as he did not do a good job at cleaning it. We ordered the classic cheese and I ordered wings and fries but my boyfriend did not. Our order arrived and he did not bring cutlery or serviettes and he brought two fries instead of one. Never mind we paid for them because we did not want it coming out of his salary. Another thing I found annoying was how much they kept checking up on us. Everytime I took a bite there was someone asking if everything is ok. It was jus too much for me personally nonetheless the food remains the same and I'm happy about that.

Such a nice vibe. Gigantic burgers and a variety of craft beer to wash it down with. The fries are also different and great. Their milkshakes are different class. If you want a quality feed come here.

Been here for the 3rd time now and the first time was fantastic this was just after they had opened the place, then another time the service was fantastic but they did not put everything I had marked on my smash burger then told them they added the item missing then again tonight I came for a burger with my friends and once again they had forgotten items on my burger but as I had already started my meal I decided that I don't feel like arguing with them if they said I had already eaten the item but as I selected the item I wanted the item but just would like this sorted out in future as I enjoy the company and will give them one last chance then decide to stop coming at all but hopefully they rectify this

Not the biggest fan of smash burgers but Rocco mama's does it for me. With a similar price to that of Great Burger Company I find the burgers much more tasty here and the service much better too

For a franchise this location does not keep the standard of Rocomamas. Tried on 2 occasions to eliminate a single bad experience , both times a fail. Service below par and as not much customers possibly the stock not turned over as much thus less fresh

Went with two of my friends for lunch, and we each enjoyed our burgers with a large chips and a Oreo shake.<br/><br/>The food was tasty but the service was a little bit slow, it should however be noted that it was lunch and extremely busy.<br/><br/>It's a very busy and loud atmosphere which fits well with the type of restaurant. <br/><br/>All round good experience.

From the burger, to the ribs and chicken wings I was blown away. The drinks are always cold and the service is warm. I will be back here again and again. My gym is next door

The service here is very good! <br/>The waiters are attentive and patient.<br/>I know that it's a franchise, but I find every branch to have its own 'personality'.<br/>This one is very relaxed and small. The inside looks a bit squashed and dark, so opt for the outdoor tables rather.<br/>The burgers are nice and the chips ok, nicely seasoned but not that crispy compared to the Ferndale or Irene branch, this one falls a tiny bit short. <br/>I had the coleslaw with bacon side, which is delicious! The coleslaw was fresh & not drenched in too much mayo, the crispy bacon is definitely the highlight!<br/><br/>Would recommend this branch anytime! :)

After a long day, my gf and I decided to goto this branch for dinner, it was ruined by a blabbermouth drunk kid who was shouting above everyone, the manager didn't manage the situation and other patrons were also annoyed by this but nothing was done with the vulgar language and rudeness of this guy. When management finally went to speak to him only after a patron complained, he told him he was coming to check on him! And didn't bother to check on other patrons. As a manager in the hospitality industry I don't expect a manager to be scared of a drunk at other patrons expense. It ruined my appetite and will not be going back to this branch ever again

After coming back from working overseas I could not wait to try this restaurant, as everyone has been talking about it! I must say I was not disappointed. The burgers are amazing and so well presented. The food is really tasty and the restaurant has a nice vibe.

I was so hungry yesterday afternoon that I could have wrestled a cow to the ground, blown its nose and wiped its feet before tucking in. What a welcome sight this place was! These burgers are made for those who take their patties with trimming seriously, even to the point of canning the plates and serving the food on a wooden board instead. Cutlery was provided because even a big mouth could not take a full bite without all the squishy bits pushing out the other side. And those shoestring fries! I did try to get a picture of the burgers as they arrived but I think my husband inhaled his it went so quickly...

Whoop whoop love the Rocomama's brand! This is an excellent branch with very hands on managers who are attentive and recognize you upon your return. Food is excellent.

If I only eat one burger for the rest of my life, let it be their Smashburger! It takes a lot of skill to get a plain beef patty and roll to rock (and roll) your world quite like Rocomamas. It takes a special type of restaurant to still be busy at 10pm, with a kitchen cranking out awesome food and staff full of smiles, jokes and recommendations!<br/><br/>I've been to three different Rocomamas franchises now, and the Weltevreden branch is by far the best and makes every other burger joint look like a joke! Was my first time here and I was not disappointed at all. It really lives up to expectations, the BBQ wings were amazing and tender. The burger I had was perfect, the meat was done perfectly, it was tinder, juicy and the right size. The bun was fresh and not too thin, and the garnishing was fresh, which for me makes a perfect burger. I really rate this place, will definitely go again.

First timer... Was extremely busy yesterday(friday). So went today... was still quite busy. Staff was extremely friendly. Burgers were really good. Hubby had the beef.. I had chicken. Was better than expected.

Really bad service for takeaways. Our order took over 35 minutes, meanwhile countless other walk-in patrons who arrived after us got their food first. Food as good as any other branch, service by far the worst.

So a Saturday late night craving led me to Town Square. I knew Rocomamas had opened a new store there but was certain it was closed. I felt a hollow in my tummy as I approached the only other option Mcds but turned to my right and yay Rocomamas was still open. This was way past 11pm. It wasn't too busy but the staff still had smiles on their faces and were so helpful at this hour. It was freezing so ordered a capucinno and found that they now have toast melts hmmmm. I chose a deluxe version with bacon and two cheeses....argh my battery died so only got a photo of the chili corn carne version. Both were delicious. Im impressed that their menu option seems to be increasing and quality still superb. Not sure if its a good or bad thing that they opened a store so close to me....hehe im loving it:)

I had never been to Rocomamas when this store opened in Town square up the road from me. I made my own burger - bacon, rocket and caramelized onions. It was superior to any burger I have ever had! It was cooked perfectly and my choice of topping was beautiful. I highly enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu. All I've done is crave another burger since I've been there! Wonderful!
