An absolutely fantastic restaurant. Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Fabulous food! Great location. Would high recommend as a venue for a function too!

Lovely decor, friendly and accommodating staff and management, reasonably priced, imaginative and somewhat exotic menu items that capture the imagination.
Popped in here for a quick bite and a coffee, found a wonderful setting with fairly decent coffee and excellent food (we both had the Milk Bar Small Breakfast). The staff were attentive without being overbearing, super friendly and most obliging. Clientele was varied and it fit this establishment perfectly.
Wonderful place, I’ll be back whenever I stop past Jozi.
Great true South African vibe and perfect for a night out with friends. On my first visit we were lucky enough to find that it was acoustic night and had dinner and a show!!! My only complaint is that the Menu on Zomato does not match with the real McCoy, we were looking for a cheaper kind of meal and a nice scene and thought Milk Bar suited that criteria perfectly, but when we got there the prices were a bit more than we saw on the app. Never the less it was delightful and worth the extra bucks ☆☆☆☆ Will certainly visit it again, especially for their hot choclate!!!
Interesting menu, with tiny portions. Overall the quality of the food is good, there is a balanced drink selection and the general atmosphere is pleasant.
However I am not entirely sure what the appeal is regarding the food.
Amazing little eatery. We ordered the chops with a side of pap, although not my first choice. I wanted to try the wors but they were sold out by 12!!!!! An indication of how delicious it is?????The lamb curry flat bread was also great. The curry was fragrant without being overly spicy. Portions are a good size and very well priced. Vibe was relaxed. Service was a bit slow.

Milk bar is a great place with a great vibe. Milk bar is just down the road from where i work and its ideal for a quick lunch or sweet treat. The pricing is really good for a place in Rosebank and really worth a try.
This creative African-retro café in the heart of Rosebank is Milk Bar's third offering in Johannesburg and the location is wonderful!
Milk Bar opens early, starting off with breakfasts and and pastries, coffees and cakes, and in the evening it becomes a festive bar.
We arrived here on Saturday night for a friends birthday and were really impressed with both the bar service and the interiors. They have ‘bar’ in their name is there for a very good reason!
My only complaint would be that Milk Bar does not have its own bathrooms so every time us ladies wanted to use the restroom, we had to venture up the flights of stairs at night and ask one of the husbands to accompany us. That really is quite a schlep.
Otherwise, however, all in all a good evening!

Really lovely, fresh vibe with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Somewhat hipster/tourist like... Well worth a stop after visiting the gallery's and shops in the area. A far superior place to anything in Rosebank mall.
This is a new concept to Joburg and something we all can be familiar with. African inspired decor and simple, good food. Service is good and the manager is always at hand. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you go with an open mind it's always fun.
A delightful brunch spot. Items on the menu are slightly different to a conventional breakfast and we took a while to choose. We were not disappointed. SO tasty! We had the sweet potato toast and the bacon, egg and cheese sarmie. We will definitely be returning! Yum 😋
Colour. Everywhere. It's my favourite thing about this place.
Food: I ordered a boerewors roll with potato wedges (it came highly recommended by our waiter) – unfortunately, it was too hyped up. I was expecting a delicious, juicy boerie roll, but it was quite dry. Dashed their sauce onto it and it solved the dry factor and was then able to enjoy the flavour of the meal. Their potato wedges are winners though. Next up...
Cake: I tried their carrot cake and it was alright. Nothing to ride home about as it was just not moist enough. I told the waiter about the dryness and he received it well, saying Milk Bar appreciates constructive crit :) And finally..
Coffee: I had a really lovely single flat white. Delicious!
Overall: Great place. Good service and vibe. I will definitely be back!

The decor is eclectic and artfully arranged but it's the food; the delicious food, that will have your eyes rolling back in your head.
I had this amazing breakfast dish that was a filet of sweet potato, topped off with fresh avocado and the sunniest of sunny side up eggs I've ever seen.
Every bite was heaven. If you're lucky, this is a mainstay on the menu and not a seasonal special.

Lovely place. Beautiful decor. African theme but not tacky. Great hosts. But could do a bit better with the food considering it wasn't too busy when we were there.
We arrived an hour before closing and the staff seated us with a smile and treated us as if we had all night. The food was well presented, fresh, tasty and the portions were generous. Try the delicious "vetkoek".
