Review Tables At Nitida - Durbanville

Eve Croxford
Food was really good. Scrambled egg was nice and soft. It was very impressive that all the food arrived at the same time.We were at the 1st Saturday sitting and when people arrived at 11.30 for the next sitting the staff started to collect belongings of people at our table and usher us along as if to get us out of the door. That really wasn't good.

Absolutely beautiful venue! We can't stop talking about how special they made my aunt's 60th Birthday. Great food!

Past the cannons just before the wine cellar, nice venue with an outdoor space amongs green grass and trees. The service is good, albeit the kitchen is a little slow when busy. Food quality is good, and pricing is ok value for a wine farm restaurant.

The Place is quiet and child friendly. The food taste great.

Friendly staff, delicious food and lovely setting ... what more do you want to enjoy a great lunch! Although a big corporate group had their lunch there at the same time when we arrived, the service was quick and we did not feel neglected.

The food offers good value and I loved the chips. Service was also good for when we were there despite being busy. It offers good playground areas.

Nothing beats good service and that’s exactly what we got when we visited. The restaurant was busy but we still received excellent service from the staff. From the drinks to the mains and dessert - everything arrived on time. I must make special mention of the beautiful presentation of the desserts - it was both pleasing to the eye and tastebuds! There’s also a nice play area under the trees on the lawn which I’m sure will be very popular during summer.

What a lovely experience 😀 we had today visiting Tables at Nitida for the first time The vibe is such a nice family-friendly place to visit with an awesome kiddies menu and play jungle gym for the kiddiea outside (maybe just pack some sunblock and a hat for your kiddo) we went for some Breakfast that was served till 10:30 and then the Lunch menu starts from 12:00. The foodies were extraordinary, and the drinks were also very nice 👌 attached is some menu photos, and the prices are very reasonable 👌 You can choose to sit inside or under a shaded area or at the kiddies play gym are under the trees 🌳 You can even get some family photos taken while enjoying some fresh air as there are quite a few nice spots for some photos 😀 I highly recommend it, and I will definitely visit them again with all the kiddies 😅

I went there with family and friends. The food was great and we should have stopped there but then I ordered a Creme Brûlée. Everyone at the table plus me burst out laughing when this beautiful yellow plate arrived with on top of it a miniscule white ceramic holder with a tiny bit of dessert inside, with halve a strawberry, 3 blueberries and a really small meringue, accompanied by a huge spoon. On top was a slice of Bruchetta which I could not eat as I left my saw at home. Next to it were two little lost popcorns. For R85 I expected a little more. Wonder who got the other half of my strawberry 🤣 At least we will still laugh about this in years to come

The place is very nice. Loved the half shade and half sun under the bamboo as well as being able to bring the kids and dogs for a fun day out too. We had a bridal gathering there which was nice. Perhaps a heads up before the kitchen or bar was to close would of been nice. A hour before the time or something. It's definitely a place I would go back to.

What a refreshing surprise when we stumbled onto this wine estate. Excellent wines, nice tasting options and lovely restaurant . We stayed there for a long time and enjoyed every minute of it.

We had our year end function here. It was a buffet lunch, I loved everything except the vegetarian lasagne. Drinks were lovely and the venue amazing.

We celebrated a family member's 40th birthday at Tables and we had such a lovely afternoon. Shani, who I was in contact with regarding all the arrangements, was a pleasure to communicate with. She was professional and prompt. The restaurant was also very accommodating wrt decor which made the day extra special. The mezze platters, which was a highlight for me, were so yummy!!!

If you're looking for a chilled setting, then Tables is the place to be! Perfect for a lunch with friends or even a date! You can definitely bring your kids and fur babies 🐾 they have the most beautiful lush lawn, perfect for picnics or just to laze in the sun with any delicious item from their yummy menu. Do yourself a favour and go and experience this lovely place!

We had a great lunch there on Sunday 19 Nov, everything from the great food to perfect service and delicious wine made us saying we can't wait to go back. I would have loved a bit more things for the little ones to do as the jungle gym was a bit crowded at times and families having picnics around it made acess tricky. The grass area is great but on a hot day like yesterday, you can only run so much to keep kids occupied. Our waiter was fantastic and served our every need! See you guys soon!

Myself and hubby spent our anniversary dinner there. The waiter was professional ,informative and focused on attention to detail. The presentation and food was excellent. The ambience was made great for us by the fire place. The prices were reasonable. It was a pleasurable experience and will recommend it and be back.

We had our staff end of year breakfast at Tables. Venue was lovely. But... myself and 2 other friends ordered a glass of wine each, when the waitress brought the drinks she passed a very snide comment, basically calling us the alcoholic table! The breakfast buffet which was dished for us, looked lovely however the scrambled eggs were so watery and we got a measly 2 thin strips of bacon along with some sausage, toast etc. the muesli with fruit compote was average. At R160 per person, I won't be going back in a hurry.

It was my daughter’s babyshower on Saturday - thank you for the fabulous food and great service. Tables is a venue/restaurant I will recommend to anyone looking for a special place to celebrate. Thank you!
Lorraine Jansen van Vuuren
We had breakfast here on the 27th of December 2016. The venue is casual and relaxed. The breakfast and coffee was first class. The homemade banana bread is out of this world and a MUST have if you visit. Our toddler really enjoyed the large grass area and jungle gym. I highly recommend this establishment, will definately visit again

Ons was n groep van 10 mense, kos was heerlik, net die rekening het my kwaad gemaak daar was n bottel wyn van R150 op wat ons nie bestel het nie, maar die kelner het dit vinnig reggestel, sal weer gaan baie lekker atmosfeer

I enjoy the stylish symplicity, yet elegant style of Cassia restaurant. I like the menu. Dishes always well-prepared and tasty. However, at one occasion visiting this restaurant, I experienced the unfortunate situation of an undertrained or untrained waiter. Even if this was his first day working there, it is not his mistake. He tried his best, but could not cope, because he did not receive the proper training from the management of this restaurant before the time. It is a pity. But no need to stress. I am still visiting this venue regularly and hopefully will always get well-trained and helpful staff members in future. This is merely a fact that I have brought under your attention. Cassia at Nitida Wine Estate is still one of my favourite restaurants in the Durbanville area.
Johan De Klerk
Was really disappointed today. I have always been a big fan but today they really let me down. Oily fish, hair in food and waiter or management not to be found. Hope this is just a hiccup since I have to take people there again Sunday.
Lee Whaley
As always a warm welcome awaits you at Tables and the atmosphere never disappoints. On this our upteenth visit, we did have an issue with our food but the Management were very quick to respond and handled the complaint in the best way that they could. Things can always happen that shouldn't but it's always about the reaction and theirs was excellent. Highly recommended
Vinny Reddy
It was a special occasion (birthday celebration). The service was absolutely pathetic and the tables and crockery were dusty. I was totally disappointed and will certainly opt for another wine estate in the future.
Dina Andrade
78 guests for my wedding breakfast. Food was wonderful and the place was beautiful. Thank you Eleanor and staff.
Arlene Snoek
First time visitor on Saturday. Food was fabulous. Venue is awesome. But I have an issue with your chickens. ... I was saddened to see people allowing their children to harass and even try and kick the chickens. This is animal abuse and should not be tolerated . Either the chickens should be kept away from these monsters or management should step in and request that the children desist this appalling behaviour and if this fails the patron is removed from the premises. On a more positive note I do enjoy having wildlife wandering around the tables and this lends an air of being even more in the countryside.
Lisa Van Deventer
Fantastic venue for children with open lawns and play apparatus which are great for the little ones to expend energy and work up an appetite. The kids menu didn't offer any healthy options for the small folk, which was a little disappointing. That aside, the food was fantastic, the wine excellent and our waiter was prompt and attentive.
Beth Bryant
Disappointing visit yesterday . Although the food was ok, the service was slow, too many mistakes and I spent too long trying to be noticed and served and not enough time enjoying myself.
Dean Anthony
Great venue. Great service. Awesome food. Meals well priced, the wines are a touch on the pricey side but still well worth the experience.
Irene Ferreira
Beautiful food and great service. A must for anyone visiting the Cape.

The farms name is Nitida. I phoned Tables at Nitida (one of the two restaurants at this location), to make a reservation. When I got to reception they told me I have to go to the other restaurant. They could have confirmed with me which restaurant because I got Tables at Nitida’s number off of their website. I didn’t know there was two different restaurants. I booked for a table outside. Both the incorrect restaurant & the right restaurant tables were inside. Definitely not what I wanted, to be in heat. Our table had a booth with 100s of pillows. Ridiculous. The food was good value for their money however my friend found what looked to be a hairpin but ended up being one of the grills cleaning brush pieces that came off & ended up on her patty of her burger. Food was great but the experience was not and therefore I’m not impressed.

I took my parents for breakfast this morning. What a lovely experience. Everyone was very friendly, the service was excellent and the food delicious. We were fully informed before hand that due to load shedding they only accept cash or EFT. We ordered our coffee and eggs benedict which we received in record time, and even with quick service the flavour and quality of food was still top notch.
We will definitely be back.

Had a lovely lunch at Tables. Great menu and very friendly staff. Wines are affordable and delicious. I highly recommend their Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. I had the chicken schnitzel with german potato and gherkin salad. The dish was plated beautifully and the flavors were great! A nice spot for lunch indeed!
Raine Tauber
Lovely vibe, they are very accommodating with groups for birthdays etc & food is great. We’ve been a few times and have never been disappointed

Probably the best option for a family meal in the broader Durbanville area. In my experience, if the kids have a nice area to play, the food is average at best. Tables is a cut above the norm, with a large menu that is fair value and some decent food. If you need somewhere reasonable to enjoy a meal whilst the kids run free, Tables is a good choice.
Rafiqua Israel
I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Tables despite the weather playing up. Everything we ordered was delicious. I can highly recommend stopping here for breakfast! The chorizo omelette was so filling and my friends really enjoyed their poached eggs, both on a waffle and with toast. I will definitely be back. Order a pot of tea, you can get 2,5 cups out of it!
Tanyakruger07
Super friendly staff!! Great wine and some really good pasta for lunch! Amazing view. Love the atmosphere!! Bit on the expensive side, but you pay for quality!!
Johan Oberholzer
Cute and simple - you get what you pay for. Food was good - i had scones, my company had salmon scramble on croissant, and basic breakfast. All good, and not too expensive. Outside seating area is on a sloap, so it made sitting quite awkward - but a couple of tissues later we had the table levle.
Service was good. *3

I went with my boss and colleagues to Tables (26 April 2018). I ordered the chargrilled chicken and beetroot salad. It was divine! So tasty and surprisingly very filling. Others ordered burger and fries, fish and chips, curry and the chicken mole. The food was exceptional and most couldn’t finish due to the hearty servings. The service was professional and speedy, we didn’t wait long for our food to arrive. Definite thumbs up.
Tracey Garton
Sorry I didn’t take a picture, food was nicely presented: chunky fresh beer battered fish and decent portion of rustic chips, pulled beef sloppy joe with crispy onions and red cabbage - yum! Venue is pretty and relaxing, music: classic pop rock and even 80s hits - on point for an enjoyable Sunday. Nice atmosphere with other patrons laughing and chattering in the background. Service was friendly and prompt. Beautiful.
Anna Correia
Nice cozy spot and venue! Myself and mum ordered the steak, over priced for what you got and average food for what we paid for our steak, our friend had chicken harissa on tortilla which was delicious! Wine is great, of course! Deserts were delicious, creme brûlée is my best always and the rest had a treat of note! This is a great cozy place to visit!
Emille Reid
We arrived without a reservation. The place is packed but we get accomodated. Service excellent. Food amazing. Atmosphere great. Will, most definitely, go there again!
Magda Groenewald
We were a huge table of 21 people. For them to still insist on charging a cake fee of R200 after we had spent over R2000 was really ridiculous. Other than that we had an excellent waiter and the food was ok
Michael Wright
While the food was good the service here ranges from poor to horrendous. The lack of waiters compiles the poor kitchen waiting period and cold food seems to be the norm. On top of that they seem incapable of writing down a reservation made 5 days prior.
Simone Hasselbach
Went here for a friend's baby shower on a super hot day. The food was fantastic! Had a variety of quiches, cakes and other goodies. Needless to say i had to control myself with the butternut quiche ☺️ I'm looking forward to a visit with my family as its a great spot for kids as well!
Nicolevw13
I wasn't overly impressed. I went for breakfast and after deliberating over the many seemingly exciting options on the menu - I settled for the omelette which was just average. It claimed to have bacon in it but it was extremely scarce. The few pieces I had were more on the fatty side. Service was below average and maybe just a bad day but definitely not the service I expected from Tables.
Cobus Du Plessis
Breakfast was cold. Ordered orange juice which tasted like Oros. Waiters are clumsy. Not a place to be recommended. Floors are dirty. Seems as if they have not cleaned from the previous lunch.
Jana Van Rensburg
Beautiful venue in the vineyards. The food was really good and it is well priced for what you get. I had the salmon and scrambled eggs on a toasted croissant.

The restaurant itself felt a bit dirty and not well looked after regarding the interior. The tables could do with a repaint...
Nicole Vrede
The food is really the highlight of this restaurant, everything else is lacking!

I had the best chicken mayo grilled pita ever! Literally the best I have had in awhile.

Although, I just felt so annoyed by all the kids running around the tables inside, it's definitely not a relaxing place to go.

The tables also look really old, with no decor or nice touches on them.

With a little work this place could really be far above the rest in Durbanville.
Mandy Jones
I love visiting Natida and my experience at Tables was no different. The restaurant was very busy and had lots of kids running around which is worth knowing if you're looking for a family restaurant. It's quite different to Cassia. The service was a little slow but the food was very good. Try tie it on with some wine tasting if you're able to.
Marc Forrest
We decided to pop in here on a whim during a drive through the Durbanville wine route. Luckily they had a table for us at such short notice as they were pretty full on a Saturday afternoon.
I went with the burger option while the wife went with the pulled pork option.
Overall great setting and...
Emma Bowen
Had a good lunch here with friends. Three of us had the pasta alfredo which was a hit and decently priced. Another person had a burger and there were no complaints there. Service was friendly and attentive
Juanita Rene Stears
Great place, visited them for dinner and breakfast a few times, and it's amazing. For a wonderful Summer day, sit outside on the deck, which overlooks the dam, winters day, inside close to the fireplace! The food is amazing, and service is fast and friendly! The wine, we loved it! Great place for a birthday breakfast, date night or just a quick lunch!
Ryan Roach
Had an amazing lunch here yesterday. Food is great and value for money... would definitely recommend the pulled pork... YUM! Fun and relaxed service, but very attentive and we were a big table! Thanks guys!
Clara Powell
Such an awesome little gem of a place. The French Toast is hands down the best I've ever had. The atmosphere and staff were awesome and I can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu.
Phillip Black
Wow! Best burger I have had in a long time. Packed full of flavour. I gobbled it up. Chips were seasoned to perfection. Homemade I believe. I would highly recommend!!! Our waiter was pretty good, but he forgot to inform us that the kitchen closes at 3pm. We had just got there at 2pm. So when I ordered dessert and coffee the kitchen was closed. The chef did however make a plan for me and I was really happy I got to try the dessert menu. Above and beyond service is what I always appreciate. They couldn't make me a black coffee though because they had already cleaned the machine. :( Overall, a great Mother's Day lunch. They have bottled craft beer, 3 options. I had the CBC Amber Weiss and Pilsner. A great place for families as they have an awesome area for children to play and lots of safe space for them to run around. I will be back as the rest of the menu had some great options I really want to try. Last time I was there, a few months ago, I enjoyed their fish and chips which is still on the menu ;)
Gigliola Conte-Patel
A colleague of mine suggested that we try this place out on a Friday afternoon. It was quiet which is apparently unusual. We took our seats enjoying the afternoon sunlight overlooking the surrounding hills. The food was rustic and full of flavour, we shared a steak and a chicken salad. It was a perfect meal for two people in need of some unwinding. We also tried a glass of their chardonnay which complemented the food and surroundings.
Noisy_tree
One of the best burgers I have ever had. The venue can get crowded very easily and the tables at nitida were a bit small. Besides that, very enjoyable restaurant
Kerissa Naidoo
Amazing! Friendly staff and delicious food with beautiful views. Went there for breakfast this morning and had the breakfast platter .My sister ordered the eggs Benedict which was served on a savory waffle and it was also very good. I'd recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be going back soon!
Jessica Tuile
Tables is Nitida's more family-friendly restaurant. The mood is laid back with kids playing on the lawn and jungle gym. The food is good and they have a couple of interesting spins on the classics. I visited for breakfast and had the eggs benedict. It is served on a savoury waffle instead of the normal english muffin. Lovely idea but the dish can be a bit dry. I asked for my egg soft poached and that helped with the lubrication. I think if you might struggle if you ask for the eggs any other way. The cooked breakfast was exactly what you would expect. Tasty and the health bread delicious. Worth a visit if you would like a nice meal on a winefarm and have the kids entertained at the same time.
Mel Woudberg
Went today for a business breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. My omelette was devine and the service is on point. Will definitely go back.
Magdel Van Heerden
What a loveley restaurant! We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation today as someone cancelled! Our waiter (Sean) was very helpful and such a nice guy!! The Food was delicious, they offer new and exciting combinations for one to try!! We had the chicken waffles and pulled pork.. We had a great time! We will definitely go back again.
Franz Truter
Awesome venue for a nice family Sunday lunch where you can just relax with beautiful scenery. The food is so so good and staff is friendly. The pulled pork is a must have as it is soft and melts in your mouth.
Tracy Poulter
This was a first for me at Tables @ Natida been to the main more "fine dining" restaurant a few times and absolutely love their food.

Went for a Baby shower and what a beautiful venue it is was for such a special occasion... The food was yummy and very tasty, I do not often order vegetarian dishes but the wrap sounded too delicious not to try and I wasn't disappointing in any way the portion were huge and the prices were very reasonable. My partner had the Burger and Chips and WOW... It was just as delicious and the presentation was very well presented.

The service was exceptionally well considering the size of our table and the waiters were on the ball.

I would host an event there any day and would recommend when in the area to pop in, great food, reasonable prices, speedy service, gorgeous venue, Child Friendly with outside garden area to play!
Jana Lorraine Pretorius
Tables @ Nitida is the slightly more laid back of the two restaurants on the wine farm (Cassia being the more fancy one). The atmosphere at Tables is very casual and informal, and the venue is a popular favourite especially for families with young children. The menu has been updated in recent years, and the quality has certainly remained good--from their platters, to the light meals, to the larger main meals, to the desserts and confectionery. The selection of wines, sourced from Nitida itself, is also worth a try--the MCCs as well as the Wildchild Sauvignon Blanc (naturally yeast-fermented) are exquisite--and I'm not usually a white wine drinker!

My only criticisms are that the service can be rather slow, and that many of the meals are (in my opinion) a bit too pricey. Definitely worth a visit though, if you're looking for an upmarket winefarm experience without the pretension.
Belinda Haydn
Fabulous venue for a
Lazy Sunday lunch, cold winters day and a lovely huge fire burning. Celebrated my
Birthday here today with 14 friends. Service was superb, very attentive staff and no delays in getting the food. We had a simplified menu due to being a large table but the choices were great. Started with some charcuterie boards, paired with wine which is always a great start. I had the
Beer
Battered fish and chips with tartare sauce. It was delicious!!! I followed this with a chocolate
Torte with honeycomb, chocolate ice cream and caramel sauce. Mouth watering! I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Child friendly too!
CPT2016
What a nice venue for a Sunday brunch or Saturday wine with the girls. Child friendly too with a jungle gym and huge lawn. Amazing view. Delicious food with good service
David Graham
A form favourite in my household during the summer months. WhY? Kids can run around for hours on the lawns while Dad partakes in the local Sauvignon Blancs. Sundays can get a little chaotic - be prepared to wait and understandably service gets a little stretched. Only ever had the platters which were shared amongst the table, but it seems decent value and the food is simple but tasty. Well worth a drive from town or the Southern Suburbs.
The Cape Town Glutton
Stopped off at this little hidden gem to have a lunch and a glass of wine. We had the pulled pork sandwich which was so juicy and full of flavor as well as the the curry which was on point and a very tasty burger! We would definitely recommend trying this place out!
Melissa Claassens
Live this vineyard and the restaurant, such a great setting overlooking the mountains, so beatiful and the food and coffee milkshake is super yum
Claire
What an amazing experience. Our waitress was great, the manager was also great, and the food... wow, outstanding. I really enjoyed my birthday lunch there. It is child friendly as well as pet friendly and I love that. Will definitely be coming back :)
Cassan Ferguson
We had a birthday lunch for a friend at Nitidia Tables in Durbanville! The weather was perfect and there was not a breath of wind!

Nitidia is nestled in-between some gorgeous trees, which makes you feel like you have somehow escaped the hustle of the city !

The wine was amazing !
And the food was tasty and came in decent sized portions !

I had the beef burger with relish and prego spiced chips and Creme Brullee for desert!
It was so yummy!

It does get quite busy on Saturdays , so be prepared to wait a bit . But having said that , the view, the food and the great service makes for such a great day out with family and friends !

Also, they have a great little play area for the kids . So that young families can sit , and eat while the kids have fun outside.
Instaeatscapetown
Worst restaurant experience of my life. Disgusting service, complete lack of attention, took forever just to get menus, meat and cheese board was dismissal and expensive. Wish we had left before we ordered. Won't be going back.
Kate Still
Pretty views, but it ends there. Dirty tables, zero service, took a full 25 minutes to bring our wine and drinks. We left, life is too short.
Lourens Smit
Divine breakfasts! Wonderful atmosphere. And the place is kids-friendly. A lovely place to spend a Sunday morning. I highly recommend the place.
Alec Du Plessis
Thanks to the staff at Tables. What an awesome Thursday afternoon lunch. They even helped out to get me a little birthday cake for my 2year old daughter. And the 200g Gourmet burger for R105 is really an awesome eat. Thanks again.
The Monique Van Tonder
What an awesome place! Right in the heart of BEAUTIFUL Durbanville! Their Sauv Blanc is so fresh and perfect for a hot summers day just like today!
Thinus
Beautiful venue, but the menu very restricted, especially if you are banting. The bolognaisse was delicious, the sirloin perfect, although not really any options on size. The kebabs were ok, the fish and chips was nothing spectacular. The deserts, red velvet cheesecake and creme brûlée were delicious and highly commented. Another shortfall is that the menu has no wheat free options.
Janelie Kruger
It is such a beautiful setting, and a warm cosy vibe. We were there on a cold, wet winters day, and the massive fire place just rounded off the homey feel. The wines are fabulous and then we ordered the Thai Green Curry with Litchi! Oh, my word! It was without a doubt the best curry I have ever tasted.

It is most definitely a family friendly environment with lots of space for the kids to play outside while the parents can still keep an eye on them from inside the restaurant.

I will definitely recommend it to anyone driving past, not sure what to expect, but willing to take the chance.
Nicole Hartig Koobear Siberians
Ridiculously small portions ! Not enough to satisfy a healthy appetite - I weigh 54 my husband 73kg but we like our food, arrived starving. The setting is lovely, service great, but the portions pathetic at the price . The smallest lamb shank I ever saw, and I doubt the fillet was more than 150g . We mentioned to the waitress and she said we should have had starters and dessert then we would have been full ! So it's a rip off then , serve tiny portions so people are forced to order the extra dishes !We left starving with a R500 bill . Sent an e mail and didn't get a reply . Not impressed Nitida !
SvN_lovedining
There is just something different when eating at wine estates... The views over the vineyards makes you forget you live in a city.

Tables at Nitida is one of our go to spots when having lunch with friends, especially those with kids. One sunny days you can sit outside while keeping an eye on the kids playing.

The food is also delicious and the service was always good.
Jolandie Pollock
Perfect for breakfast or lunch with the girls! I've had some awesome memories made here! Delicious food on the menu, and obviously fine wines!
Bev Moss-Reilly
When is a burger not a burger?
You have not had a burger until you've had one at Tables @ Ntida!!!
Oh my word - setting presentation and taste - what a perfect recipe of outstanding blended ingredients to make this one a real winner!!!
This tops the charts on any leader board when it comes to finding the place that "has it all"!
Far from the madding crowd yet around the corner so very easily accessible! Set in the heart of the Durbanville winelands away from the hustle and bustle is yet another one of Cape Town's hidden jewels. For those with better lined pockets its a known fact that the main restaurant, Cassia, visible from the road is also a culinary delight but for those whose pockets aren't as well lined, this is just a magic place. The service matches the setting. The presentation is just perfect and the quality and taste quite indescribable. One would hardly think that a burger was worth such a rave review but truly, this one is well worth crossing Town for! A big YES!
