Went for a quick lunch yesterday afternoon! We are the calamari & chicken strips pub lunch combo! Amazing food, fast service & friendly staff! Our food was also super fast. Loved that they are not shy with their sauce at all
Beautiful setting and very chilled atmosphere. The food is good and the prices are even better. Waiters are super friendly amd make you feel at ease ander relaxed. Perfect place to just kick up your heels with good company. Photo will contain crusted pork belly sandwich on rocket with honey mustard.
First time visit..... Well played! Slow roasted pork sandwich will pretty much blow your mind. Look forward to my next visit. I will be back for sure
Wow just wow.... Best place to go for a guiness anytime, service is fast friendly and I feel right at home not crowded like most place in durbanville and best of both inside area two bar areas great concept!!! To start with the food first poppers in a long time that is not over powerd with taste cheese ratio amazing!!! Main course!!! No words for the flavours all in all just amazing, boyfriends comment for the evening.... "The sauce is dripping all over my hand but could not be bothered cleaning it off now as I'm enjoying this amazing burger" next group hang out destination in the Northern suburbs decided!!!!!
Decent vibe, you'll enjoy the meals if you're into pub grub. I generally have the venison pie with veg and chips. Worth a try on a lazy afternoon.
Typical pub lunch scene. Food is good and service is friendly. Very centrally located. Great place to meet up with friends to have a drink and have something to eat.
Went there a while back with my friend to watch the final race of the Formula 1 season. We were not disappointed. Not only did they play the race with sound, but the bar area was filled with fellow supporters. We tried the schnitzel which is always a winner as well as the chilli beef nachos. I don't normally eat anything spicy but this was absolutely to die for. It was amazing! Would definitely recommend it to all my friends.
Had our Christmas lunch here last year, they had a buffet with great variety. Staff was friendly and courteous. On a busy night the place might get a bit crowded though.
Good setting, good menu, good service, good food... Will definitely come again. I had a very bad experience earlier this week with an eisbein, but you guys showed me that Capetonians can make a good one!
Amazing pub dining, really good portions well prepared calamari (always important). Nice clean venue. Service lacks a lot, but with the right crowd - you can forgive that. The food is extremely well priced R160 for 1kg of beef ribs. Recommended for sports games and a chilled dinner.
Good meal at a reasonable price and will be back for more. Sirloin steak nice and tender and they got the medium to rare right. Have a nice fire going for the cold winter days and it is raining on Election Day, so was a good choice for lunch.
The vibe is amazing, it is a typical pub atmosphere. The food is simple yet delicious, it is typical pub food. Steak , eggs and mash or pork tjops and mash are just to name a few of the dishes. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a very nice variety of local craft beer and ciders.
Really nice atmosphere. The food is not too pricey. You can book tables. It has tables inside and outside depending on what you would prefer. Would recommend if you want to quickly grab a bite and eat and also for breakfast with family and friends
It is no longer part of Hollow Tree but still a very good venue. Back to the old name of Oxford Arms. This was an institution in the Durbanville area and looks like it will regain that popularity. Good food , good beer selection and very attentive staff. Outside seating is the best in the area. Go as a couple or meet with friends. Had a great afternoon.
Looked like a nice place. Sat outside it for about an hour ( dont ask why). Wasn't too busy. Would like to go inside some time. There were some children outside with sticks, which was pretty scary - they looked like a cult. I'm sure the guy watching the cars will keep them at bay though - all good

Staff put up with a lot from our group... Even after the last round... We still had a few more. Highly recommended!!
A cosy spot, with pub style food. I recommend reading the menu quite carefully, as almost entire sections are only available at the Old Oak branch and NOT at this location. The food is well prepared and tasty, but food and drink here is not cheap, and in my opinion, for the price, not good value, especially with the fantastic selection of other restaurants in the area.
Great small pub vibe. Good food, friendly staff and quiz nights on Thursdays. Definitely worth a visit. And there's a wide range of beers om tap available as well.
The Hollow Tree provides an old world tavern feeling with good food and hospitality. Service is mostly fast and efficient. Food tasty and well prepared. Pub lunch specials good value for money.
The Hollow tree was great. The waitress was very pleasant. The general ambience lovely. To add to that the beer prices were very affordable.
