Really enjoyed the Oyster starters, the pizzas were good. I suggest ordering the large pizzas as the taste was a lot better than the small pizzas (which were slightly over cooked).
If you are a vegan and looking for somewhere to go for a delicious breakfast, this is definitely your place. I highly recommend the breakfast smoothie to go with your meal, it’s delicious !
Hail Pizza is an awesome place to go with a group of friends. They have a nice sized menu and definitely one of the more reasonable places to eat in Cape Town. The service was fast and efficient, even with a big crowd. They were out of avo but gave us quite a few options to substitute it with. The vibe is relaxed and decor simple. I will definitely be back.
It's simple, has great winter specials, it's warm inside and the service is great. I really enjoy their pizza and the chocolate tart (at Clarke's too) is out of this world! A great go-to pizza place. Never been disappointed.
I came here with a friend for the get fed for 50 lunch special -- and it was amazing! I ordered the pizza (which was eaten too quickly to take a photo) and this drink thing which I forgot the name of.
The pizza was great - not too thick and not too thin. Very simple recipe that will definitely have me come back, even without the special.
Tucked behind Clarke's on Bree, it's very trendy and comfortable with communal dining tables. Would love to return one evening for drinks.
After remembering many fond nights at the skate park/live music venue, The Pit, it was great to see the Clarkes team reintroduce this wonderful space at the back as a pizza joint.
Long and spacious, the bar runs along the back wall and the greenery is more tropical island than the cosy indoor succulents you're used to. Hail Pizza is the cool late night cousin to Clarkes healthy daytime bruncher.
They do all sorts of cocktails but my friend and I stuck to Happy Hour priced wine, then we shared a pepperoni pizza. Fluffy, dense and gorgeous to look at, the pizza is done in the Neapolitan style. While I prefer a thin base, I love all pizza as long as the cheese is gooey and fresh.
We got there around 5pm on First Thursdays, so we luckily got a good table before it got super packed. I loved being away from the hectic crowds you find on Bree. Service was good and I would definitely go back to try the aubergine pizza.
The waitress was super cool! The pizza was delicious and different! Try the margarita because it's one of the bests I ever had! Will definitely go back!
Quietly situated behind Clarke's, this little pizzeria deserves more publicity than it gets.
Came here for lunch with a group of friends. I ordered the 'fire eggs' which was absolutely delicious. It was wholesome and flavourful, and not quite what I expected.
A friend of mine had the bratwurst toastie which was apparently equally as satisfying.
They have peculiar policies for a pizzeria, as their pizza oven only opens on weekends and in the evening during the week.
We felt like a light lunch on Saturday, and since Hail Pizza is the new kid on the block, we decided to try it out. So, it's pretty much a renovated space at the back of Clarkes Bar, which seems like a great place for drinks after work or a great vibe on First Thursday. We shared the St Elmo pizza, which had mushrooms, lardons and avo. The base is quite thick and crispy, and reminds me of a pizza hut style pizza, deep dish and with a thicker crust. I think I would prefer having the option of a thinner base especially since the ingredients are quite light and fresh. Overall not too bad, and would return for drinks with friends or a night out.
Had a simple bit quick magherita pizza- cause we were on the go but it was amazing. The atmosphere and vibe was incredible aswell... considering it was first thursdays... didnt compromise on quality... will be back in future
Tucked behind Clarke's, Hail Pizza offers very unique pizza's that are incredibly delicious. They also have an amazing cocktail menu which is worth a try!
Hail Pizza delivers fantastic pizza a great vibe good drinks. The staff are friendly, welcoming and understanding. The pizza ranks with any in the world the only word of caution it gets hot in this restaurant but their beer remain cold and on tap so go and enjoy.
A little hidden gem in Bree St, Great lunch time pizza and sandwich specials. Excellent service with smile.
Tasty pizza & fresh oysters were both amazing 👌🏼 caeser salad was ok. You have to try the bloody mary's, they exceptional!
Excellent concept. Upscale dining room by day, pizza speakeasy by night! We were impressed with the authenticity of the thin crust pizzas at Hail. Toppings fresh and generously sized. You'll need a large to feel satisfied. Very good service, one not to miss in Cape Town!
Excellent pizza place! And good service. The first time, our pizzas took a little longer than we expected, so the waitress took our drinks off the bill. And made us so happy. I have been back three times and I will definitely go again!
I recently had my birthday dinner at Hail and it was great! Great venue and ambience and the pizza's were delicious. The only thing that was a bit of a dampener was that they only allowed me to bring in 2 bottles of bubbly for 20 people even though I was perfectly happy to pay the corkage fee of R50 per bottle and only wanted to bring in 3-4 bottles so each person could have at least half a glass. They have a strict policy of only 1 bottle per table but the tables are big, seating up to 10 people each which means everyone only gets a couple of sips. It was a real pity that they were not willing to make any exceptions.
The rumours are true, this is the best pizza in Cape town. Great base and the are not stindgy with the toppings.
The entrance to hail pizza is quite confusing. You can get in through Clark's which is next door, or down an alleyway with large wooden doors at the end.
Just a heads up, we had booked a table and had to pay a R500 deposit.
The G&Ts during happy hour are also amazing
A recommendation from a local who loves this place. We were excited to try some amazing Cape Town pizza. Sadly a neighbor might have had a late night misunderstanding with the restaurant's chimney. So while we didn't have pizza, we had a delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup along with some excellent macaroni and cheese with some hot chocolate to knock the chill from our bones after an evening on the water. For dessert we enjoyed a wonderful salted caramel ice cream from a local creamery and wonderful in house tiramisu. As with so many things Cape Town, the delicious dinner was complimented with service that was excellent and incredibly friendly. I can't wait to come back and have the pizza!!!
I've had a fair few of their pizzas, decided to try their vegan option recently because why not. I have to admit, it was fantastic! I'm not vegan by any means, but I would gladly order that again. Great place, great staff, looking forward to my next visit.
