A great place for breakfast all day! Very friendly staff, good coffee and snacks. You can meet there for a business lunch or bring your laptop to work a little.

Ive been eating here for years and OH MY GOSH their buffet of salads are the best EVER! Always consistent quality. Got that perfect crunch with the sweet/sour 🥗 Not the boring lettuce, cucumber type salads either. I wish they’d train me how to make them so I can have them at home too! 🤭 because they get a bit pricey for an everyday routine.

Food was good, service a bit slow. Will definitely visit again

Very friendly service & cosy location, also a lot of locals come here - which is always a good sign. I've loved the eggs benedict, but smoothies & coffee were also great.

Although not halaal, we did enjoy a hot cup of latte' just to warm ourselves. Piping in by chance, most beautiful decoration that can take you back in time. Toilet facilities nicely decorated and clean. Friendly service.

Loved the coffee! Prices are reasonable however service was a bit slow so keep in mind if you are in a hurry. Will be back to try some of the other menu items.

Chai Tea was a little to intense. But the carrot cake was amazing. Food my colleagues had looked delicious 😋 good portions and great service.

This guys make my favourite ever egg benedict in Cape Town! They use a wholegrain mustard hollandaise that I just can't resist...The coffee shop serves all types of juices, great coffee selection and small plates for lunch. There's a happy vibe in the restaurant and fast service. I found this place while I was passing by that area, and Feastfox besides a table reservation offered me 50% discount on the breakfast! #Feastfox #feastfoxcpt #foodie #foodphotography #foodlover #comfortfood #fooddiary #foodadventures #foodforthought #foodnetwork #foodforlife #igfood #foodoftheday #foodheaven #cheatday #coffee #sweettooth #dessert #canonphotography #travelgram #travelgram #photooftheday #photooftheweek #beautifuldestinations #Capetownetc #capetownfood #foodguide

Great place for a post cycle coffee. The snacks are pretty delicious and the lunches are fresh and tasty. What I like most are the ever friendly staff!

Lovely place. Nice atmosphere. A bit pricey. Definitely an icon in the city.

Pricey but nice food, and friendly staff overall good service
Carlize Knoesen
Food is nice but buffet expensive. Toilets not clean. Service not the best. Can do much better.
Dusanka Stojakovic
Delicious food, lovingly prepared in a welcoming environment.
LJ Vosloo
Some bread roles rather expensive! But it is one of two or three coffee/lunch restaurants around the area other than KFC etc so you are paying for the ambiance and quality!
Coenraad Loubser
Best lunch in Cape Town, hands down. With a quad espresso.
Madelaine Celliers
Best, friendliest, most amazing people. The vibe is contagious and fantastic - not to even mention the phenomenal cakes and food. Oh - and the drinks!! Well done!
Judy Lombard Kock
Always an awesome bussling atmosphere with excellent food!

Wonderful coffee, awesome service, delicious food and baked goods.

Loved the Banting stack and freshly pressed juice (carrot, apple & ginger) that I had ordered, it was healthy yet delicious.
The prices are a bit steep, however I don't mind paying for good quality food and service.
I would definitely recommend trying this quaint cafe.

Fabulous food with a great vibe and good service. Something special in the downtown CBD area. This is a breakfast must ! Grab a friend and go x

Hi foodies, I hope you are all doing fantastic! One of the best 'food' holidays have already passed with the first quarter of the year, aka Easter and I hope you all had plenty of chocolate, pickled fish (my mom froze some for me while I was away) and hot cross buns! . I am working in the Cape Town CBD today and if you have read any of my other posts you will know how much I love the CBD. Today's eatery in particular is nestled in the quieter part of the CBD. Lekker naby die landdros hof! So obviously I am enjoying some monochrome and grey outfits (even I am dressed to fit the culture).

Food: When I saw the menu, I thought sh*& this is expensive for a brekkie! French toast was R52 and the wording read "A SLICE of french toast", again I thought hell naw. Luckily I don't get put off easily, so I went for it, and even added two poached eggs. I was so happy when my food arrived, the eggs were just there for decoration, because the toast SLICES - yup plural - were huge! On a taste scale, it was heaven on the tastebuds. I loved how the cheese and maple syrup complemented each other (see me raving about it on my IG story, here), everything just worked together. They also have a decent selection of coffee and tea, my favourite after one try is the forest berries tea leaves. The teapot gave me so many cups, probably 4 full ones, and it was only R27. Yummy.

Service: The waiters were so patient with me shame. They came to check on me every 5 minutes to see if I was ready to order, and each time I just had a glass of water (also, shot guys for bringing me tap water - most places brings patrons bottled water and charge an arm and leg). For the rest of the time I was here, they could see that I was busy and they left me to do my thing in peace. Dankie.

I support this cute little place, unique menu items and good service
What I have had here: wrap, breakfast things
3 words to describe the place: eccentric, cute, quaint
Rating: GREAT

Tip: order on Mrd

I was spoilt for my birthday this year with too many cupcakes (if there is even such a thing), some of which came from Milk, Bread and Honey. My wife works in the area and decided to try some of their sweet treats for my birthday. I chose the lemon curd cupcakes - because I am obsessed with lemon curd - and was so pleasently surprised. They had a delicious meringue top with tart homemade lemon curd underneath, the cake itself was moist and overall, they were really enjoyable!

For lunch on a weekday the options are excellent, fresh and tasty, be it vegetarian or meat. I would recommend for that reason alone. However, The service is often slow and painful especially at lunch time. Also, I've had some toasted sandwiches which were not up to scratch, specifically because they were not well toasted - a rookie error. However, kudos to the manager for often being there :)
Vanessa Van Vuuren
Love there consistent great service and the beautiful buffet spreads breakfast and lunch been here 6 times and adore this little restaurant. Beautiful desserts that will please any sweet tooth. Love everything about it.

Bread Milk and Honey for breakfast this morning. I've walked past a few times but decided today I would give it a whirl. First meal listed on the menu Eggs Benedict - boom done.

Ordered a cappuccino which arrived super fast. The blend is lovely and strong and doesn't need sugar. The micro foam is lovely with minimal big air bubbles. Wonderful warm start to the day.

Decor wise it's kinda got that French country Bakery vibe to it. The black and white checkered floors are everything. I feel like the place could be warmed up a bit with some variation in the lighting but overall it's a very neat crisp look and the wood accents help give it a more homey feeling.

I also like that you can purchase freshly made pastries and sandwiches at the front area which is nice if you are busy and just need to get moving.

My Benedict arrived nicely presented with a suspiciously large amount of mustard. My medium poached egg came as a single hard boiled egg which was a sad. The hollandaise is more of a mustard mayo and so much mustard it overpowers the subtle flavor of the salmon. The hollandaise needs to be relooked at in order for this to be okay. The bread was lovely, that coupled with the fresh salmon and rocket is a really nice combination.

Overall not a bad breakfast, the strongest point being the coffee and the service and the weakest point being my poached egg.

A super spot for a city breakfast! Would go back anytime! Super friendly staff and quick service! The dark hot chocolate is a must!! My friend swapped her gypsy ham for mushrooms with no hassle!

it gets quite busy here in the morning but i was able to get a table. the cafe was bustling but a very warm ambiance. i love their yoghurt with shredded apple, oats and cinnamon - it has definitely become a favourite of mine.

if you take breakfast seriously this is honestly the place you should be eating at, wow! lovely service, lovely food & the smoothies are so healthy and yummmmm!! I had the poached eggs with the mustard hollandaise & Noni Mwebesa had the French toast & we both loved our food, totally worth it & not too pricey🎈✨✨✨

Thank you entertainer for the smoothie and coffee specials I tried this place after my aunt recommended it. Salmon Benedict, oats. I thoroughly enjoyed myself

I love everything about this little coffee shop. What makes it even nicer is the fact that true menu has more to offer than muffins, cakes and sandwiches. You can also have a cooked meal for lunch. I pooped in for cuppachino and red velvet cupcake it was fresh and moist just like it's supposed to be.

Worth a visit.

These guys are home. They know you by name and greet you with a warm smile, no matter how early it is. The atmosphere is really great and their coffee is even better. They have a great lunch buffet as well as little treats for Friday afternoon's only! ;) Always love coming here.

Have loved Bread Milk & Honey for years. The restaurant is small and cosy and is always bustling.

Their lunch harvest table is just delicious and there is such a variety of food which is fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend this place even if it's to pop in quickly for coffee and a treat.

Perfect to grab a quick coffee and snack on your way to work or a meeting. Typical cafe vibes in the middle of the city. I see it more as a take away vibe, but I see most things as take away cause I'm a hermit. Smells great when you walk in, staff are so friendly and coffee does the job.

I recently started working on top of Bread, Milk & Honey and am struggling to explore the rest of the CBD options because they're so good. Great coffee, tasty and healthy food and all at a very fair price. Make sure you try their lunch buffet at least once.
Nicol Miller
This little spot is bustling from the second it opens. It's a famous CBD stop for those who work in the surrounding areas. I went in wanting a flat white, and while there, the manager recommended a red cappuccino. I wasn't disappointed. I always appreciate great recommendations and advice, especially when it comes to trying something new! Service is friendly and efficient and I will definitely be returning for lunch!

Nobody does scrambled eggs better. That is all. They serve up all sorts of home baked breads, cakes and tarts too as well as offering delicious sandwiches to go and a buffet style lunch (you pay by weight). Very popular spot for breakfast and lunch so it can get a bit noisy. Have the eggs. Seriously.
Megan Bellinger
Cute little place! Its perfect for a cuppa on the way to work, either to have a quick sitdown or pick up a takeaway. I thoroughly enjoyed my americano, and they have options to have a triple shot and even a quadruple shot, caffeine buzz of note! They have a good selection of feshly baked goods and a self-dish up of fruit, yoghurt, mueslinand birchers. Would go back in a jiff!
Clare Appleyard
Cute little place, popular with locals by the looks of things. We had a hot chocolate and a chai, with a slice of cheesecake and a gingerbread man. Cheesecake was half-price because it was the last slice, but was yummy. Drinks weren't very hot, pretty much had to be drunk straight away.
Adrian Kaplan
Love the place. Although I've never eaten there...i have been regularly for juices and coffee. Love the vibe, decor and good location right in the heart of the CBD. Staff are always friendly and obliging.

Amazing lunch buffet. Try the butternut curry or spring salad. Make sure you get there early around noon otherwise you might miss out! The coffee is decent but not spectacular.
Michelle Dalton
Th perfect place to pop out for lunch. The salad selection and harvest table is mouthwatering.
They also have pre packed sandwiches and wraps for someone in a hurry which are full of flavour and are the perfect portion size. I also had the best chai latte of my life here, the rooibos was not watered down; it was sweet without adding any additional sugar/honey. The coffee is also good.

BMH is around the corner from my work which means I try very hard not to pop in every single day. The staff are always on top of things and half of them will call you sweetheart which is comforting. I enjoy their creamy scrambled eggs on rye for breakfast with very good coffee and the buffet for sit-down or takeaway lunch. The temple tea is a virtuous treat on over-caffeinated days although I'm always tempted to take home some of their excellent Greek shortbread or Florentines for a late afternoon snack.

I've wanted to go to Bread Milk & Honey since I moved to Cape Town six years ago, but I've just never gotten round to is... well, today it was Stop 1 on my cafe crawl through Cape Town, and I was not disappointed.

I will admit that it was very difficult to get parking, and I ended up parking a few blocks away. However, once inside the cafe, all my frustrations melted away.

BM&H is a long, narrow cafe, with only a few tables near the back, meaning it's never going to be very crowded. I arrived in time for breakfast; you can choose something off the menu, or you can go for the 'buffet', which consists of cereals, yoghurts, etc., all set out on a long table that you pass to get to the seating area. It was incredibly enticing.

I opted for a scone, which was fresh, warm and delicious, and a cafe mocha. For the latter, I was offered it with milk, or dark, and I decided on dark! What a win! Wonderfully chocolatey and less sweet than the usual mocha.

The service was warm and quick, and there are lots of pre-packaged snacks to choose from at the front, including biscuits, fudge, wraps and sandwiches. All in all, I was very impressed, and would love to go back sometime!

Nice spot for lunch when you're in a hurry
Understandable why lunchtime run gets so full - quick in-and-out which doesn't compromise on taste.

A bit loud for my liking but the staff are so fast & friendly, their buffet is lovely (special mention to the butternut prepared today) and they make a perfect red cuppachino

Not sure if I would drive into town for the sole purposes of lunching here
But If you find yourself around the CBD
I'd definitely recommend you try it.
Cute little coffee shop in the middle of the CBD. The shop it self has a nice vibe and smell of coffee is intoxicating. They sell a variety of jams and sandwiches which gives it a nice feel. The coffee is very well priced but lacking in the "kick" department. I had the Americano and it tasted like filter coffee which is unfortunate.
It's a nice place to kick lose and read some emails but that's were it ends for me.

Bread, Milk and Honey is such a cute little spot in Cape Town. I popped in for lunch earlier and had a pretty hard time deciding what to get to be honest.

They have lots of delicious looking food from pre-made sarmies and wraps to "buffet-style" salads, quiches and soups. And lets not forget about all the amazing sweet treats on offer - cakes, cupcakes, coconut ice and more.

I ended up getting the bacon and bean soup - FLIP it was so good. Packed with bacon, fresh veggies and flavour and going for R28 for a 350ml tub. They also have slices of bread you can buy if you want to bulk it up.

Will definitely be back. All the staff had big smiles on their faces and I love the little seating area looking out onto the hustle and bustle of CBD life.

Really great coffee, but the lady at the counter was really grumpy - she actually didn't smile once the entire time. It was just after 3pm, and barely busy, so I'm not sure what the deal was. In fact, I think she may have even rolled her eyes when my friend asked what a 'flat white' was. Hope she was just having a bad day. Or maybe asking for good coffee AND a smile is too much?

Such a little gem in the heart of the CBD. The BF (aka the Hulk if you follow my blog) and I popped in there for an early breakfast before work and we were not disappointed. I had a delicious eggy breakfast, there was some Brie cheese involved, and the BF had an equally delicious little treat with hollandaise sauce.

We were both super tempted by the buffet table, dessert breakfast is totally a real thing, but settled for a lovely coffee instead. We'll just have to go back to try some of the delights on that table.

The cafe was full of busy looking people, doing pretty much exactly what we were doing and enjoying their pre-work pit stop. They also have some great takeaway breakfast options if you really are running that late for work and have to take your food to fly.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back!

PS... Watch this space for a lunch update - because I'm almost sure that's a winner too!

ADORABLE. That's what this place is....and then some. Very friendly staff, an enticing range of options for breakfast and lunch, full-on meals as well as snacks and small bites, sandwiches, eggs, rolls, muffins, delectable tarts and an ample choice of smoothies and juices and hot drinks. People on a very tight budget shouldn't really look to BM&H since the prices aren't super low. But compared to other coffee shops and little cafe-style restaurants in the area, one certainly gets good value for what one pays. A fun and relaxed atmosphere, pleasant clientele, lots of little eye-candy in terms of yummy food / treats to look at... in general, when one is at BM&H one can't help feeling Happy! Even the staff seem to be super cheery most of the time! Everything I've ever eaten there has tasted nice and the I've never been disappointed with either the fare or the service there... so in my book it scores a very easy 4, for sure :-)

This such an amazing lunch venue! I highly recommend it for those on paleo or banting as you can choose the most delicious salad items that is soooo filling. You know you are getting quality food with a home made feel, definitely different to mass produced buffets.

The ambiance is fast paced with a New York feel, I quite enjoyed that.

It can work out to be quite pricey so watch how much you take, it was totally worth it for me though.
Jean Verwey
The only thing warmer than the atmosphere is their hot coffees! Whether you're cursing the rain or the fact that it's Monday again, the moment you walk in you feel like a ROCKSTAR!

There are very few places that get food and service so right as BMH. It is the quintessential Cheers cafe - "Where everybody knows your name. And they're always glad you came."

Absolutely tops.
