Restaurant is impeccable. Outlay is brilliant. Spacious, neat. Staff is friendly, welcoming. My 4 stars. My order? I didn't like the calamari batter, was too salty. Cole slaw in red wine sauce tasted off. Husband didn't approve of his King Clip, tasted half done, raw. Ordinary rice was tasteless, chips came standard, were scorned, we returned half of our order to the kitchen. Kitchen Head came over, offered us a new batch. No, thank you, except for your onion rings, nothing was out of the ordinary. Think my expectations were too high. Got carried away by the misleading advertisements on TV. I do understand stock and sauces come standard from Head Office, they have to do with what they get. Our first time to any John Dory's, was definitely our last. The restaurant was not busy, empty so to speak and our orders were a big failure. To say we were disappointed, is an understatement. Maybe the normal kitchen staff were on leave the Monday we visited. Hint: Never to visit on a Monday. Our first and last visit, for sure. Loved the gin and tonic though.
First time ever visiting a John Dory's restaurant as all the hype from Brackenfell residents awaiting its opening made me think it should be tried. The restaurant is neatly decorated. The seating is nice and comfortable. There is a play area for the kids. Our son even got face painted. Bathrooms are neat and was clean. The food was good. Sushi seems unbelievably expensive, but this is always the case when compared to Sushi restaurants. Would definitely visit again sometime.
This branch is quite nice and we enjoy the food. Our son also loves the play area. The sushi is always fresh and the food offering is value for money.
