Relaxing afternoon on the terrace of the Brasserie...friendly staff....ha ing the oyster special 007Oyster...including a glass of either Lace S.Blanc or MCC Simonsig! Excellent Oysters from Namibia...all other starters sound great as well....steak tartar...pate...bouillabaisse...prawns...sushi...etc.....!Cheers Annette
Excellent service, fillet beef and prawns was cooked to perfection. Wash all down with a glass of Belgian Duvel beer and watch the Kitsurfers thrash around in the surf.
And a Japanese bidet style toilet to end the evening.
Very stylish establishment with professional staff.
Food is very good quality and the restaurant is classy and clean. Would highly recommend

De Brasserie
Strand
So last night we experienced a wonderful event at De Brasserie, Thier Wine Evening. 10 wonderful wines with 3 excellent dishes. With representatives from Boschendal, Luddite and Paul Cluver plus our hosts from Almenkerk.
We started off with the 2 Bocschendal MCC's - Boschendal Brut and Boschendal Brut Rose and an Amuse Bouche of a peeled tomato stuffed with creme cheese, topped with an olive and puff pastry with chutney onions and cucumber.
One thing we did not have a lack of glasses on our table. We then had a glass of Boschendal Sauvignon Blanc, Luddite Sabo Teur and a Paul Cluver Chardonnay with our starters. Starters: 4 pieces Tuna Sushi platter. Was perfect to start with and some really great tuna. Beetroot Carpaccio (v). Which would have been my second pick and looked delicious.
With our main meals, we had 3 reds, Paul Cluver Pinot Noir, Luddite Syrah and the Boschendal Cabernet Sauvignon. I think the Syrah was my favourite with the Pinot Noir close behind it.
Main meals: Kingklip on a bed of vegetables with a butter sauce. The kingklip was perfectly cooked, Soft and flakey. I had the Duck breast with baked sliced potato and a delicious orange sauce. Aubergine Parmigiano (v) with a garden salad.
To end off the dessert wines, Paul Cluver Noble Late Harvest and the Almenkerk Noble Late Harvest. The Paul Cluver here was the outstanding one. Not too sweet or overpowering, complementing the dessert perfectly.
Desserts: Mini Cheese Board. Selection of cheeses with some Melba toast and some figs. Eton mess. Which was light and crunchy. Panna Cotta. Smooth and delightful.
Such an amazing evening, and to be able to chat with the representatives and hear their stories was something really different and enjoyable.
Looking forward to trying some of the new dishes at De Brasserie as some of the new dishes will make an appearance on the menu.

Had a great meal on the outside deck in the warm winter sun. The meal was outstanding as was the wine and staff. Always a pleasure to go back there as the food, service and setting are an absolute pleasure.
Walked into a shop that is so full , there is no space for a mouse. This means its a really good restaurant !
They had surprises around every corner ! The food is traditional but tasty . The waiter and bar service was amazing !!!! Each person in the shop were looking after us ! I have never seen this before ! Great excellent service ! You even receive the cutest set up with coffee ! Sushi , steak , fish ..... tapas , you are bound to get your taste ! And .... the greatest wine ever ! Almenkerk !!! The chardonnay was exquisite .
Who knew that this little gem was waiting for us in the strand. When driving by one could easily pass it over as just another restaurant but do yourself a favour and go in for a meal. It is a restaurant that offers carefully selected menu options with phenomenal service and some of the nicest wines you can enjoy during dinner. Everyone is very professional and explains the meals in detail. The restaurant is basically an extension of the almenkerk wine farm so it really does add something extra to the normal meal. We will most certainly be going back often to enjoy a mix of french, dutch and local cuisine. Hands down the nicest place we have eaten at in this area
Great view. Well trained staff and very professional. Quality wine list. Pork belly was my favorite item on the menu. If you are in the area do not hesitate to pop in. Nice selection of Belgium beers 🙂
Upmarket restaurant on Beach Road in Strand. Had the salmon and really enjoyed it along with their house wine Almenkerk. Waiters are friendly and service is really good. The dishes are well presented and I was impressed with the presentation of the cuppucino. Overall a wonderful experience.
Whenever you find yourself in the Gordons Bay or Somerset west area in Cape Town, do yourself a favor and visit The Brasserie at Strand, the Fillet, and Sushi is mouth watering and a must👍🏻👍🏻

Very nice setting to have coffee and chat with good friends. Unfortunately the wind was extremely strong so we had to sit inside and not on the stoep which has a beautiful view of the sea. The menu looked very interesting so we will definitely return so have dinner.@
We were most impressed with this restaurant. Treat yourself and enjoy an upmarket dining experience at De Brasserie. We were made to feel welcome even though they didn't have a table for us when we arrived. The barman (I think Patrick) asked what kind of wine we preferred and then gave us a taste of a wine he recommended.
After we had been shown to a table, I felt queasy and stepped out for some fresh air. Our waiter was attentive to immediately pick it up and open some doors for fresh air.
Full marks for service, ambience and food!

Stopped here by chance - and were very glad we did. Wonderful exterior seats (with a great view) and utterly delicious food - the salads were fresh and tasty, while the seafood was exceptional. Service was stately, but this was I feel reflected in the food, which was outstanding (and very reasonably priced). The two queries we had (over the lack of semi-skimmed milk and their ‘no bread while sitting outside’ policy) were courteously and thoroughly addressed. A lovely relaxing place to visit, one we’d return to. ALSO - space age toilet facilities!
The food , OMG . I had salmon with a side of fried rice. Wow 👌, that salmon was just perfection. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Would recommend this place for sure

Such a magical and stylish restaurant! We met up for a late morning coffee ☕with this amazing plate of a biscuit, with tiny piece of cake, a small chocolate and this delicious lemon shot with cream!! Delightful!! Such a great restaurant to meet friends for either a meal or at the bar for a drink.

Love to sit here and watch the sunset. Brasserie, please buy a gas stove so you can make hot chocolate on the cold days when there’s load shedding? I can also give you my granny’s flask te keep water warm? 😅Other than that, what a lovely lekker restaurant.
Been long time customers of De Brasserie. Never had a bad experience in all the times we’ve been and we go a lot. Food is always great and the service is next level, they really do a great job choosing their staff and you can see they are very well trained. Oysters and the Belgian beers are always a hit and the sushi is very underrated top 3 in the Helderberg for sure! Well sheltered from the wind on the deck for sundowners. Keep up the good work!
Great restaurant right on the beach front. Service was friendly and very good. We tried a variety of the menu options and everything was fresh and very flavourful. One of the best meals we've had in a while
I loved the look and feel of the restaurant but I was slightly disappointed by the service that was provided. I don't know if it was specific to a busy night but I remember that the sushi I ordered took way longer than is sushi would. Also I must mention that the table next to us had the same experience.
Otherwise this place is a good spot for catching some sunset and I'm hoping that when I visit next time I will have a different experience because it's kind of a cool restaurant. Loved the art pieces outside.
Great service the waiters are attentive and friendly. The food is really good and well presented. The coffee is delicious and I love how they serve it with a homemade egg liqueur. The view is worth the price :)
I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. They have delicious wine and good food. I had sushi which was good but I have had better sushi at other restaurants. I do like the variety of meals offered on the menu. I enjoyed the good quality wine on offer. The venue itself has really nice decor and is structured and arranged in an interesting way. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Another great aspect of this restaurant is the great service.
