This is my current favourite restaurant in the Cape. It is a casual eatery offering the most delicious small plate dishes. Each one is so delicious that you hope someone turns there head so you can lick the plates! The idea is to share the dishes so that you can taste quite a few of them. In fact it is best to invite a few friends so that you can work your way through the menu. It is a relaxed wonderful setting. The manager Jacques is the ultimate host. He welcomes you and is on hand to answer any questions and will guide you through the menu and choices with your waiter. The wine list blew me away. I love my wine and for me to find a menu where I have not heard of half the wines is heavenly. I had amazing wines on both visits. I love Spek en Bone. What a great addition to the family of restaurants owned by Bertus Basson and Marelie.

The sautéed potato gnocchi & wild mushrooms was heavenly. All the flavor so robustly beautiful. We had 4 small plates & 2 desserts. Thank you for a incredible culinary adventure.

Second time dining here and it was a absolutely amazing. The service and food is unmatched; and the ambiance is just perfect. Can highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!
Really good food, they don't have wine pairing and the choice only by glas was slim, tried two cocktails, unfortunately not good. Would still recommend the food.
What a gem! Very unsuspecting entry but quickly opens up into a magical location. Rich history, beautiful setting, great service, and UNBELIEVABLE food! Nice wine selection as well. Perfect for a romantic evening away from the crowds.

The Smoked Cauliflower and the Gnocchi was delicious. Great atmosphere.
Hidden away down a beautiful walkway, this intimate restaurant offers tables inside or outside under the pergola decorated with string lights. The set menu was amazing and a gastronomical experience that incorporated a range of tastes and ingredients. Dishes are for sharing and even though portions could be small, it adds up to being completely stuffed. I loved it here!
Truly interesting food combinations. Great service. Highly accommodating to the vegans and vegetarian in our group. Stellar service. Oh, and Max the cat may visit you during the meal🐈

Absolutely outstanding - I've been back four or five times now amd it's consistently one of the best dining experiences I've had.
Beautiful dishes prepared witb the utmost care and attention to detail (try the gnocchi, it is PHENOMENAL), outstanding service and an excellent wine selection, at a price point that won't rip an unduly large hole in your wallet.
Simply cannot recommend this marvelous establishment enough, 10/10, no notes.
Charming location and tasty food.
We went for a lunch break in Stellenbosh on a sunny day. The table was perfectly sitting under the grape vine. Being quite hungry we opted for a full chef menu, 7 tapas per person. Each plate had a unique combination of flavours, all very enjoyable. The place is probably very nice also for dinners, we definitely have to go back for an evening culinary experience.
We did the cheffs menue. A very good experience. One to do again on a special occasion. Waiter very friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere.
