We were served by Desmond and he looked after us from start to finish. It was my Grand Daughters birthday( could have had some recognition) however food was yum and service was number one!
This used to be a great place... Our favourite Ocean Basket of all. That was when the Chinese guy owned it. I don't know what they've done, but my guess it's a management issue. So disappointing and frustrating. The service has gone down, the whole atmosphere had changed. Food is still OK on the whole but we just don't enjoy going there anymore. There's no engagement from management... Just a superficial, "Is all OK?" if you're lucky. Staff doesn't seem happy as they used to be. One evening we got a bill that was from earlier in the day: The waiter 'forgot' to add something on the original bill so then he arrived with this other one from 2:00pm that day that we had to pay separately from the original bill since he'd forgotten the item?? I hope the owners read these reviews and realise something's wrong.

Haven't been to this Ocean Basket in years, but stopped here for some calamari and sushi. I had the grilled calamari with rice and also some salmon roses. The food was good, but I thought the 3 pieces of salmon roses weren't worth R64. We also ordered their mojito carafe and it was AMAZING! It was really refreshing and not too sweet. Our waiter was also very sweet and came to check on us all the time.

The best OceanBasket in the country. Fast service, cold beer and succulent calamari. The sushi is divine and I love the new menu!
The reason u don't give it 5? It not "Owner Run" anymore, so that extra personal touch is gone.
Came here Christmas eve for an impromptu supper. The place was packed we had to queue outside and wait for seating. The restaurant manager was very accommodating and assured us we'd get seated quickly. We waited for a while then got a nice table. Out waiter was friendly and attentive. We waaaited for our food. Wiped out the bread and sushi like hungry children after a hectic afternoon of playing.
When the food did arrive it was edible. I wasn't impressed with their garlic butter sauce. The rest was good though, cooked accordingly. It was a worthwhile supper out.
Food good for the price that you pay. It is not out of this world. The food use to come so much quicker than it does now and no more sauce like they use to give. Having said that - it is not fine dining so you get what you pay for, the taste is not something you cannot do yourself. But still if you are on a budget and not too fussy this is a place to try.
I love sea 🌊 food 🍲 and yours is so far a number one hit my stomach is doing cartwheels. Great for midnight snacking, dinner and lunch. 💋moyvisimo
My family and I eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. The service is always super fast and very friendly and the food is fresh and very well priced.

I'm a frequent visitor to this branch and I love it because of the amazing house-specials that they have (the porra prawns in particular).
Tonight, however, I was a little disappointed with the prawn special. Usually it comes with a generous serving of slightly larger queen prawns on a platter but this time it came in the standard pan with what looked like a few prematurely poached prince prawns. I could've gotten the standard 12 prince prawns for half the price if this was what they had changed the special to.
I was expecting uphill about this when I complained and I thought I'd just end up never going back there again but surprisingly the manager, Andrea, came to me and advised that the kitchen would prepare another plate for me, no hassle! I told him I was also concerned that the size of the prawns were different and he explained that they're using a different type of prawn but the size should not vary greatly. He actually went to kitchen after that to check if the prawns were smaller than usual. They were, so he was kind enough to add a few more to the dish.
I was very impressed with the customer service from the waiters and the manager. It's not often that restaurants make an effort these days so it's always good to find a place that does!
Very good reasonably priced seafood. We really enjoyed it. Good time with family. Although a little hard at times to get the staff's attention they were very friendly and fast in delivering ordered items.
Very clean and lots of seating options, food and drinks arrived relatively fast, food was hot and fresh and our waiter was very pleasant
Amazing, my Birthday 🎂 was Special. Great food/service, Great company with my beautiful wife. Thank you Ocean Basket Clearwater for a wonderful experience. Our waitress was so cute she even gave me a kiddies ice cream on the house 😂.

It's amazing. The food is always so pleasant and so is the service, the waitresses are so kind and are quick. I would 100% recommend if you craving seafood or even if you just want to sit down and have a drink
The kitchen was very good and the setting was wonderful. However, the service was not really what we expected. There was a fragile competition between servers. We couldn’t call another server on the instructions of one of them, even though we couldn’t place orders after 15 minutes, because the person who looked after our table was unavailable. And when we called another waiter to order, the other waiter gave us a hard time. It was quite embarrassing. And maybe the waiters shouldn’t talk about the food they bring.
Food was Good. It hit the spot, sushi is however, not their speciality. Staff were welcoming and the waitress precious was on top of her game!
The service was excellent. We didn't have to wait long for the food it arrived very quickly.
The restaurant was busy and there was a nice buzz. Unfortunately the restaurant is next to the underground parking lot and the noise from cars hooting and revving spoils the atmosphere.
Waiters always friendly and helpful, food always absolutely delicious 😋

The ambience was cool. It was a hectic but the waitrons paid attention and kept calm despite the lot of patrons calling for their attention. The manager was also on the floor rendering support to the waitrons and ensuring that the patrons get quality service.
