Pretoria on Sunday. Up early to watch my godson play ice hockey at the Grove Mall. We agreed to celebrate the team win with a hearty breakfast at Safari Garden Centre. The place caught my eye when I drove past it, on the way to the ice rink. When I entered it, I was quite charmed. Lovely gardens, amazing water features, plants, animals (don’t feed the parrot). And of course gardening goodies. Food at the restaurant was also good. Had a delicious slap up break fast. Not a gourmet meal. But more than enough to satisfy a hungry ice hockey player. The slightly sleep deprived god parent, who had to wake up very early, to see the match, would have appreciated a stronger coffee. All round a great place to visit.
Visited on a cold day, well designed garden center with every plant and shrub, succulents you can imagine. An indoor shaded plant atrium. Beautiful little chapel for those who wanna tie the knot ! Pricey deli with freshly baked breads 🍞 wheel chair friendly pathways with spectacular greenery.
What sets this place apart from other Nursery's is that each plant-type has it's own habitat that's been built for them to thrive in. They're not sitting on some boring shelf or isle.
This gorgeous spot has a chapel (perfect for weddings) and a fantastic Restaurant with a kids area and a pet farm or the kids!!
The building gives me heavy Jurassic Park vibes and I love their little store filled with garden decor, furniture, and compost/soil of ALL kinds!
Don't forget to bring a hat and some sunblock if you want to walk around to see the plants! VERY WORTH IT!
