Lovely spot to pull in for a beer with some mates and eat some unhealthy but seriously tasty pub food! Beers are cold and the food hot - so ticks the boxes for a village pub!
Wow... this place is truly a breath of fresh air. From fast and friendly service to the hearty meals that would make your belly sing. All without breaking the bank...Thanks guys. If we didn't live in New Zealand, we would be around here every weekend.
Impromptu decision to do Sunday sundowners in Noordhoek. Decided to park here for the afternoon.
Along with our drinks we ordered the main portion size of nachos to share. I then spotted the wood fire oven inside and decided to add a pizza to share for the table.
Had the 3 cheese 'pita', but asked them to make it into a pizza (add tomato sauce to the base). Yum-o! Not shy with the cheese at all. The nachos had a good ratio of chip to toppings. There were however a few burnt chippies.
Food here is typical 'pub' fair. But they do it well.
Wood oven pizzas are a must! Thin based and lots of flavor. Great variety of beer and great value for money. Very relaxed and casual and some of the better service I have received in the area! Go for some beer and pizza and you will not regret it!

Went here for Valentine's dinner with my husband, brother & sister in law. Dinner was lovely. Service was quick, efficient and the waiters were very warm and friendly.
Ok.. Well here we go again... Yes, I do appreciate that it is a "pub".. Service is friendly, but not motivated.. I again tried the" to come back for ' ribs.. Lol... I sent them back.. So Dry.. Minimal basting too.. Still would have been dry... I could suggest, what u should do, but u should know... And they not cheap. So make the effort... Decided on have pizzas they had nice flavor, but the nice thin base, tasted a bit stale.. I remember trying one of their burgers before.. Yes... Stale roll.. Nothing worse. Next time in the village I will try the other 2 spots.. Cafe Roux, evening gig menu, sux. That's why we went to the frog place. O well..
The ribs in the pic.. Are ribs I just made on a braai, precooked, pick n pay brand, u just added lappies sticky ribs sauce.. Actually good... Now thats scary
.... 19th July 2017...much better.. had a double cheese burger for R110... very fair, considering the patties are 180g each(according to the new, very hot, efficient manageress.. who will go far in life with her attitude, look after her)
the burger was a bit dry, but a fresh bun, made up for it.) well done guys
What an epic little place. Finally got away from the hustle and bustle in Jhb and I must say that this little place is such an eye opener. With the mountain as your backdrop and the sun setting at 8, it makes for an unbelievable little vibe. Service can always be improved on but that would make it very Johannesburg like so I will accept it as it is.
A really nice venue for families unlike the other two toad venues. The food is pretty much the same as the others with a slightly quieter atmosphere and cold beer ready.
Awesome pub lunch!
I loved the menu, everything I could possibly want in a pub watching sport.
I found the menu really good value for money, especially with the portion sizes. The pizzas have at least 4 ingredients and the average price is R80, which is soooo good!
Service was pleasant and the manager was on the ball!
Popped in here on the recommendation of a local. Owned by Bobby Skinstad, this little pub offers giant screen TVs to watch sports and very friendly waiters and waitresses.
We opted for the fried calamari and chips. I have eaten calamari hundreds of times, but I have never eaten calamari that was THIS tasty.
Fresh, soft and delicately battered; I was in foodie heaven. The tartare sauce is creamy and tangy.
Golden fries that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside are the perfect partner.
Washed down with a Savannah Light - this is the perfect Saturday afternoon pub lunch.
Do yourself a favour and ensure at least someone at your table orders this meal so that you can at least taste it, you won't be sorry!
Not being any sports on, the atmosphere was laid back, perfect for a relaxing visit. The rugby memorabilia everywhere is a fun trip down memory lane .
The restaurant is situated within a little complex which offers some shops and a small hotel restaurant.
As we were leaving, Prime Circle were getting ready to perform to a small gathering of people clustered on the grass.
Lovely little centre ...
Looking for a place to grab lunch and also be close to the Noordhoek Farm Village (reviewed separately) we decided to give The Toad In The Village a try. The restaurant was pretty busy as we arrived at lunch time, however we managed to find an open table. They have a wide variety of different dishes and everything sounded very tasty. Some of our group decided to grab pizza and others went for the Hake and Chips option, which I can really recommend. What I liked was they had a small separate bar area available for those who only want to grab a drink. There is ample parking available as they are located on the Noordhoek Farm Village and they have indoor as well as outdoor (undercover) seating options, so it would be good for cold as well as warm days. We enjoyed our time here and will be back in the future.
The wife and I went on a date night. We had a nice quiet table upstairs. My cheese burger, with a medium rare patty (requested by me), was great. My wife had her favourite pizza, The New Orleans.
The Toad does not disappoint.
Everything was top notch!! Buffalo Wings was a generaous portion, staff is friendly and on point. Guinness on tap :) The Village burger was the best!!
The Toad is a popular spot for locals and tourists. They are especially busy when there are big sports games on. They are popular amongst bar flies, groups of friends, and people looking for a lovely meal. There is inside and outside areas, upstairs and downstairs. Inside upstairs is usually warm and cozy from the fireplace. You should definitely stop by.
Great experience! One of the best Prego Rolls in Cape Town. The sauce had amazing flavours. Compliments to the chef. Didn't expect such a great experience in a pub restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Well done Toad in the Village staff. Will be back again and again. Aidan and Chantel
This facility is smoke free upstairs and perfect to watch your favorite sports. The taco salad is my favorite. Also, check out the Toad on Boye’s Drive too.
Love this place. As close as we have to a traditional pub. Upstairs fireplace, free WiFi, craft beers and a cosy menu. (Menu needs a refresh though - only because I have been coming here for years!)
Very lovely setting in Noordhoek Village. Fantastic food and great service. Even though the restaurant was very full, we barely blinked and our food was ready. Amazing onion rings! Melt in your mouth calamari and chicken livers that taste like home.
I recently completed training in Cape Town and work here for a couple of days
The food was a hit & miss, but being a bar I did not expect excellent food. The service is good and some of the staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is lively and they get busy which is always a great indicator.
While there I tried the burgers, pizzas and some of the other meals. Surprisingly their coffee is quite good for a "bar"
Really great vibe for a cold beer and incredibly tasty food. Service was a bit slow in terms of the food coming but it was really busy and over lunch time. Def recommend
