Review Knead Bakery - Muizenberg

Really good food( they even cooked my food in a separate pan because of my pork allergy. Amazing service would recommend that you try and book a table as they get busy. Must try there sweet treat that are freshly baked. Definitely will go back there.

Who can say no to All-day Breakfast! Came in past 4pm (they are closing at 5) and still been able to order Toast & Avo with a poached egg and some Rooibos Tea which served in a beautiful can. The Avo on Toast was probably one of the best I had in a while with Danish feta, roasted tomatoes, roasted peppers, rocket, basil pesto on sourdough ✨👌 highly recommend!

Popped in for a brunch. Window seat chosen to do some people watching, as one does! We settled on the poke chicken bowl and chicken strips in buttermilk with fritters. It is the small things that elevate this establishment: Finely chopped mint and pineapple in the slaw, seriously complex sauces (Korean Gochujang and citrus ponzu dressing) and just generally well presented & fresh food. Amazing service, excellent value for the quality. Perfect coffee and squeezed juice. Highly recommended.

Commanding full height glass slabs, give you a great view of the famous surfers at Muizenberg Beach. Open and airy eatery with delicious food and excellent variety. I had the R87.00 Vegan Toast & Avo on their signature Sourdough bread, that was absolutely superb, followed by an equally healthy cup of Rooibos Connoisseur tea. Yummy goodness and friendly staff. Awesome

Great place for breakfast and meals in general. Service staff is happy to assist you and always follow up. Food served was delicious. I had breakfast (eggs were done as per my liking) with really tasty cappuccino. Definitely recommend. Sorry I didn't take photos of the bakery and meals.

Besides the place being in an old building, which gives it plenty of character, I highly recommend this place. They are innovative to the point that when there is no power in the building, they offer the load shedding menu. Food is good, reasonable to average prices. Fresh croissants and fresh bread and a full menu of plenty other items including tea, coffee, beer and wine. Service is immaculate

This was a delight. The service was great and fast. Prices seem a little expensive at first but it is worth it. A great variety of breads to choose from. Great menu with variety of meals and drinks. The waiters were quick and friendly. They offer wifi. They are also quite wheelchair and pram friendly. The bathrooms are also good and clean.

Excellent service from the young guy at the counter. Pizza was awesome. Less is more, much more. Still going to try the biscuit. The coffee was very nice but not as strong as I thought it would be. It was however fine as is... we still have Bread which we will eat with our spaghetti Definitely trying out the rest of the menu!

Great atmosphere, food tastes amazing and the staff is very friendly. It also have a beach view.

Good for a casual bite to eat, has free wifi. Service good. Good view and beach access. Have handmade chips which are nice 😋 bathrooms were dirty

We stumbled across this Bakery on Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly and welcoming. We thought to see if they have fresh bread. We walked out with bread, a chocolate croissant and a spinach & feta quiche. All three items were of high quality! - Happy couple who you will see again! All the best for this Bakery, Nitanja

This place deserves more stars than I can give in terms of high food quality, great taste and perfect location! The food prices are not super low but you absolutely get what you pay for and more. I was here on an extremely busy Sunday morning and the food arrived very quickly! The whole atmosphere is also very warm and inviting! My favorite option was the poached egg, avo and feta on toast, the breakfast bowl was filling and the omelette was cooked to perfection! Yes.... I had all of that 🙈 and would do it again if I could

Amazing food and service, so glad we chose to come here for breakfast!!

Cinnamon roll and banana nut muffin<br/>The cinnamon roll was light and flaky, not overly spiced and an excellent balance of sugar on top (I could wait and dig in before I took the pic).<br/><br/>The muffin was light fluffy and full of banana flavor. <br/><br/>Croque Madame<br/>Smoked ham, 3 cheese sandwich topped with bechamel and a poached egg.<br/>Can only be described as decadence in a bite!! Warming a flavorful!! Perfect for a cold afternoon!!<br/><br/>Definitely will be back

I have so many photos of Knead dishes on my phone, it's difficult to choose! I have to say Knead is our absolutely MUST HAVE breakfast spot. They are part of the Entertainer and they were the first venue that we finished all our coupons on - LOL. The staff are always friendly, the beach view is always great, our food order has never been messed up or with issue. One tip though would be to arrive before 9am on the weekends, it's always pumping! However the staff certainly make a plan to find you a table should you arrive at a busy time, it just may not include the stunning view :)

This Knead has a beautiful view over the beach and is always packed on weekends. We really enjoyed our food and the coffee was good. I particularly enjoyed mine, which had a lot of fresh avocado.
Marius
We had the chicken caesar salad and it is amazing lots of chicken and bacon this is a real man’s salad. a real recommended meal for the summer excellent staff.

Great location for this branch of the chain, in an atmospheric old building right on Surfer's Corner. The coffee is not bad and the baked goods are pretty good. Other items are ok - though the large burgers are a little overcooked, so a bit dry. What drags the place down somewhat is the service, which is slow and easily confused.

A group of us booked a table to have breakfast at Knead. This restaurant resides in what used to be an old Cinema, with the original floors and double volume ceiling adding to the character of the restaurant.  The food was fantastic.  Their toasted sandwiches are great!  The breakfast pizza and white hot chocolate must get a special mention.  Services was also good, and I'll most certainly be back to try some other items on the menu.
Candice Oppenheim
Food was just amazing, lovely flavour combinations and great variety for breakfast. The smell of fresh bread as you walk through the door is enough to sell it. Nice addition would be if you could actually buy some artisan type baked goods on your way out :)
Reza Hamdulay
Absolutely breathtaking location! Highly recommend for breakfast and tea-time visits. Good vibes and even better coffee. Relatively extensive menu and reasonable pricing.
Kelly Adriaanse
Knead never disappoints with their meals and all day breakfast! Their eggs benedict with bacon is definitely one of my favourite breakfast meals and the service received is always warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Great place to grab either breakfast or lunch. The menu offers a lot of light meals. Atmosphere is great and the service is very friendly with a personal touch. I grabbed a bacon, feta and cheesy Russian pizza @R89 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would defiantly like to come back and try their great breakfast options.
Gina Botha
Food was great. We both had a classic beef burger which was presented wonderfully and tasted good. Service was good. And the overall atmosphere and views of the sea was very nice.
Laura Martin
Absolutely love this branch because of their view and their ambiance.<br/><br/>Their service isn’t exactly speedy but it fits in with the surroundings- calm and relaxed. <br/><br/>Their food is lovely - although I was disappointed as they had run out of avocados 🥑 which meant that, lots of options were off the table. <br/><br/>I eventually opted for the Harissa Chicken light meal. It was extremely filling, healthy and wholesome, one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at a restaurant. The chicken was flavoured to perfection and I loved how they presented it.<br/><br/>A definite must try if you’re not looking for a quick, fast paced lunch but rather a nice, calm, relaxing atmosphere with idyllic views.

When we walked in the place was pumping and we were preparing for a slow Sunday Breakfast but we were met with fantastic service and great food today at this Knead branch.
Brandon Charles
Great view<br/>Great friendly service<br/>Great portion size, especially the bacon and pork sausage (mmmm)<br/>Great food and coffee<br/>Girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoy ourselves :) <br/><br/><br/><br/>

This is such a stunning Knead! I took my mom and my pooches here, we loved the meal we had and the fresh juices as well as the friendly faces!

Beautiful setting at the oceans door.welcoming aura as you enter, met by the cakes of the day on display.<br/>The waitress seemed a bit distracted, coffee n cake -order of the day.a satisfactory experience all round.<br/>Would go again, after walk on the beach.
Diederik Van 't Hof
Very tasty breakfast, and presented very well. The venue is extremely popular making it very noisy. Nice location on the beachfront giving views over the ocean and surfers doing their thing. It however feels a bit crowded, and because of the wind and location the floor in our corner was covered in sand.

One of my favourite Saturday Morning Breakfast destinations, what could be better? Freshly baked breads (my achilles heel) the sea breeze, watching the surf. The vibe is relaxed and it's a great place to ease into your Saturday.
Rosemary Carter
Interesting old style building. Staff were friendly and waiter too.  I ordered Salmon fish cakes with salad. The fish cakes did not taste much like fish and the salad was cold corn cobs and carrots with a lentil and seed mix. Did not taste fresh. Would have preferred a fresh green salad. My friend had a  bacon burger which she enjoyed.
Lauren Niekerk
Lovely cosy cafe situated on Surfer's Corner that offers a welcome refuge from the wind! Much better to visit during the warmer months though and pop in after a surf or beach stroll. Offers a great selection of lovely and reasonably priced breakfasts with a seaside view. My fave breakfast is the eggs benedict.

I went for my first time yesterday and the food was amazing. I love the vibe of the place, its chilled and relaxing. Service was slow though but they were kind of busy so its understandable. All in all things were pretty good!

Bleh, average at best. When this knead first opened it was a breath of fresh air. Good to buy bread and such, but the service isn't great and the food average to sub-par. There are better options in Muizenberg, but I'm not going to get grumpy if someone asks me to join them there, it's just not my first choice. Be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes for orders on a Saturday.

Coming straight from a great surf I was out of energy and extremely hungry. <br/>Guess it's a good thing Knead at surfers corner is in prime location for surfers who need a refill. <br/>The panoramic glass walls block out wind while providing for a blissful view of crashing waves and surfers gliding through the water. <br/>The first thing you notice when entering Knead is the environment. The conditioning is comfortable and a very nice change from the disturbed outside weather. Lighting is mostly natural, but supported by additional laps giving it a peaceful feel. <br/><br/>The food was served in good time and it was delightful (picture cheese burger). I thoroughly enjoyed the toasted bun and the patty was done just as requested. I do feel like they could add some extra sauce on the burger as it was relatively dry without it, but overall, a very enjoyable meal. <br/><br/>After a full belly I set off. Leaving muizenburg with a pleasant reminder of Knead and it's welcoming aromas and atmosphere. I can be certain that next time I arrive Itll be an easy choice to revisit Knead after a tiring days surf

Parking is available however on wkends and good weather finding parking is an issue. Good view and good prices. ..good food service is quick<br/>Went today with friends and even my lay back friends from the northern subs were a little ataken back by the waitress (Jenny)attitude. Very abrupt and a little sharp. We sort of took it in stride when we got informed very sharply about no coffee or hot drinks due to some fault. But when it come to the end of our meal Jenny informed as since there is no coffee and her shift is ending could we pay her...now that really was plain unprofessional...upon removing the last plate requesting payment immediately.instead of asking us maybe want desert and then asking us to settle the account if our response was negative. It seems Jenny just was not a happy lady at work today....

My boyfriend and I have very different dietary requirements, so it's not often that we find a restaurant that satisfies both of us. Knead did just that. There were plenty of options and we throughly enjoyed our meals. Thank you Knead!<br/><br/>Bonus: beautiful setting - overlooking the beach, the staff were lovely and the food/drinks are reasonably priced.
Adrian Kaplan
Best location at Surfers corner, service is incredible, delicious breakfasts. All round winner and not overpriced like so many similar breakfast spots. An all round winner as far as I'm concerned.
SquatForPancakes
We came here on a Sunday after some surfing, so we were quite hungry! The place was packed, but someone attended to us quickly to give us menus. <br/><br/>We ordered some iced coffees, but waited so long for it as there seemed to be a confusion with out order. They do have milk alternatives (soy milk) which is always a good thing to have. <br/><br/>Still waiting for our coffees, we decided to order some food. My friend had the Breakfast Pizza, there was only one egg on the whole pizza, which was quite disappointing. I had the Veg and Wholegrain salad, it was really good, but it did not fill me up at all. When I got home I actually had another left over salad. <br/><br/>When visiting Knead, I would suggest just sticking to the breakfasts. The breakfasts are really good and super filling! <br/><br/>Giving Knead a 2 rating, because of the slow service and the salad not filling me up.
Dominique Bolligelo-Smith
Beautiful location, tasty food, creative menu, appalling wait times. Stood for almost 10 mins to be seated, at least 7 waiters rushed by us with zero acknowledgment or eye contact. We eventually had to stop one for them to call the host to seat us. 10 min wait before the waiter came over. 30 minutes before our drinks (2 coffees and 2 milkshakes) arrived. Food took an hour...No jokes. It was absolutely not worth it. Nothing is worth that kind of wait and definitely not easy food like eggs and coffee
Sams Phone
Decent but not great.... No salt.... Hollandaise sauce is completely wrong but thankfully I've learned that not many spots do make it correctly so I always order it on the side. Other than that... I would call it average edible fair without any flair.... And on some dishes... Flavour

I come to Muizenburg quite often over weekends and always fine myself ordering from the take out menu. I finally decided to treat my sister and myself to a sit down breakfast. <br/><br/>The service was really friendly and quick which I thought was amazing for a restaurant that was so packed! <br/><br/>The food was equally pleasant. I had the corn cakes with mushroom and tomato and my sister had the roast veg open sandwich. My only qualm with the corn cake was that it was very stodgy and not as light and airy as I expected them to be. <br/><br/>Over all, I'll definitely come back for another post-surf brekkie
Glenn Muller
Popped in for brekkie after my cycle ride. The place was pumping and that usually means the servers were stretched and one's good and coffee took a bit longer too arrive. Not a biggie as the views were awesome and surfers were out in their 10000s😉<br/><br/>Coffee hit the right spot, lovely and rich and served at that beautiful temperature. My scrambled eggs with salmon served on sourdough bread was a winner, and I especially enjoyed the dollop of basil pesto that took it to another level. Nice one Knead!
Rita Van Eck
Great location for a well-known restaurant. The view on the beach was pleasant, while the refuge from the crazy wind was very comforting. <br/><br/>We went there early on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. Service was quick and efficient and they informed us of delays due to all the patrons, which was good.<br/><br/>My breakfast did, however, arrive not as hot as it should have been. That, to me, was strange, but I was too hungry to send it back. Other than that, we had a good time and the coffee was decent too.
Megz Mackintosh
Was impressed by this cafe. I had chicken & bacon on rye with the most delicious Caesar dressing! The service was very slow & we had to ask 4 times for water for the table. Was very enjoyable but the waiters could possibly be more attentive.
Zeenat Patel
Really disappointed by the food after hearing so much about the original knead. The egg white omelette did not look appetizing and the sweetcorn cakes were not only burnt but there was no sweet corn in it! The healthy seed bread was delicious though. Service was good but be sure to get a table away from the kitchen to avoid seeing the 'chaos' and what happens at the waiters station

I take my hat off to this place! It's huge with foam-sprayed windows overlooking the famous surfers' beach and a steady stream of tag-a-longs and large families who arrive in high season, hungry and overeager for a breakfast.<br/><br/>We were seated in a jiffy, served in a flash, checked on regularly and kept happy amidst the comings and goings around us. The food was warm, according to preference (VERY crispy toast) and even the garnish was fresh and tasty.<br/><br/>Really impressive. Hope there's always hungry crowds to keep you going through winter because you deserve it.
Annie Hodes
The first thing that hits you when you enter this restaurant is the delicious aroma of freshly baked products. The food was delish, our group had the veg salad, the blue cheese and chicken salad, burgers, veggie burgers, corn fritters and a margarita pizza and the view is gorgeous. Thanks Entertainer for the discount vouchers

Great set up , with a nice variety of food that all look delicious! <br/>My meal was great and the milkshakes were pretty tops as well <br/>Good job !
Mandy Jones
I really love Knead, and the fact that this one is next to the beach makes it even more of a favourite! The menu makes it really difficult to choose from, but this time I went with the chicken schnitzel and my partner chose the burger! Both were absolutely delicious! I love the lemon and dill mayo that they serve with it, and I got to choose two sides. The toasted vegetables were out of this world! <br/><br/>
Unopa Mazwigwila
I normally go to knead for coffee cause they have one of the best coffees; this time I had lunch and wowzaz!!! It was beautiful... I ordered from the light meal menu which came with 2 slides. I had fries and market veg and the salmon fishcakes were the main which were delicious. And let us not forgot about the marker veg...it is to die for. Try it out.
Simone Hasselbach
Great little spot in surfers corner. Terrible to go to when the wind is howling though. Popped in for a quick coffee just before closing time. Would love to sit down and try the brekkie. Apparently its good 😀👍🏻
Andrew Raeburn
Horrible blight on the new wave of greatness washing over the Muizenberg Restuarant scene. Great location, beautiful building and and plenty patrons who wait in ridiculously long queues to get service. The take away section is the worst system I have ever experienced. Akin to waiting in a Bank line at the end of the month. Staff are really slow, management non existent. The food and coffee is expensive and below the average of the new muizenberg standard.<br/>
Megan Bellinger
A friend and I were looking for an early Sunday morning brekkie in Muizenberg, so we ventured to good old Knead. It's got a different feel to the other franchises, not as cosy but lighter and echo-y - better suited to the surfers I suppose :)<br/>Our waitress was lovely and friendly - she didnt bother us, brought us fresh water without having to ask, and also helped us choose when we couldnt decide between the all the yummy choices :)<br/>I went with the standard eggs and toast, and my friend the 3-cheese grilled sarmie.<br/>The coffees were welcomed and always good, the Knead Baker's Dozen really fares well!<br/>Be warned it gets really busy, so go early if you're going for brekkie.
Chloe Pickett
We were out and about the other day and decided to go for coffee at Knead on the beach front. We ended up having lunch after looking at their menu and their delicious baked goods! The restaurant is absolutely lovely, high ceilings, lovely calming colours, and simple decor. I loved how each table had a little, happy looking pot plant on it. I love how the kitchen areas are open-planned so you can watch everything which normally happens in the background. Unfortunately, there wasn't any space at the front of the restaurant near the windows but we found space on the raised section which was perfect. The restaurant is really well lit with natural light as well as beautiful chandeliers. <br/><br/>The menu has all sorts of delicious sounding foods, I went for an Iced Coffee/Coffee Milkshake which was one of the best that I have ever had! For food, I went for a "Chicken Red Pepper Pesto Mayo" toasted sandwich on whole wheat. It was one of the most delicious toasted sandwiches that I have ever had! I am normally not a fan of peppers but it was the perfect combination with just the right amount of chips. My mum had the most incredible Nut and Orange Cheesecake, I would have never thought that the combination of flavours would work but it was absolutely incredible! The prices are really good, the portion sizes work well, the staff are very friendly and the service was very good. I would definitely go there again and cannot wait to try more of their food. I forgot to take a picture before I started tucking into my delicious food but managed to take a snap of half of my sandwich **
Jana Williams
One of my favourite places even though have not been there for a while. Love the coffee and the view. Food sonetimes took to long and waiters could be more attentive. Close too early, last time they were closed already when I wanted to come.
Gabriel Stein
Wow, what a fantastic experience I had at this knead outlet. <br/><br/>All my tables food was outstanding, that includes: spinach and feta pizza, bacon and feta pizza, corn fritters with salmon, salmon omelette and chicken salad. <br/><br/>The service was also great and our waiter was super friendly. <br/><br/>One problem with this store is that it is very cold but that's a given considering its on beach and for some, well worth the sight of the ocean. Also the dessert portions are tiny, the carrot cake slices are bite sized for R20 or so. <br/><br/>Otherwise, great place to come for a breakfast or lunch. <br/><br/>
Nicol Miller
We had brunch on Sunday at Knead in Muizenberg and unfortunately it wasn't the greatest experience.<br/>It started off not being welcomed or seated by any staff member. We ordered toasted sandwiches, and chicken schnitzel, with drinks, which without exaggeration, took about 40minutes to arrive.<br/>If we knew that service was going to be that slow, we would've opted for better restaurants in the area. Added to that, the portion sizes are miniscule in comparison to the monetary value attached to it. Overall, we were underwhelmed.
Jamie Jacobs
The Muizenberg branch of Knead has an edge over other branches because of the breath-taking ocean views and surfer vibe that comes with the territory of Surfer's Corner. The staff are friendly and efficient each time, and the food and drinks are tasty. If you want a breakfast-all-day experience, I would recommend this restaurant where all who surfed or walked their dogs along the catwalk are welcome.
JotterJo
Breakfast by the sea with chilled, fresh air wafting off the water. Worked up an appetite after a early long walk alone the beach. Fabulous!<br/>Knead was the spot to sate the hunger. It was absolutely packed but we managed to get a table and order our favourite - the breakfast pizza. Quaffed it down with steaming cappucinos.<br/>Life is certainly a beach!
Samuel
The only good thing about Knead Muizenberg is their take-away service. Sitting down is always a disappointment with horrible service and poor food quality. They should take a trip to knead Sea Point to see how customers should be treated. Their so called kiddies hot dog is a joke; It is a boerewors in a burger bun! <br/>Avoid unless you go for their amazing almond croissant and slightly overpriced coffee.
Boitumelo Ngwato-Lehutjo
Such a warm cozy eatery ❤️❤️❤️ LOVE!! Actually surpassed my expectations 😱😱😱(comparing to one in the capital city) this has to be my favorite Knead!!! Thank you for tending to my flu...
Jeanette Verster
Such an amazing breakfast this morning <br/>We had a big table at the top, only tip I can think of is don't sit in the corner because there's no mobile signal at all! <br/>Loved the salmon and roast tomato eggs Benedict. Hubby had breakfast pizza and declared it amazing too. <br/>Kids had toasted egg and bacon and it was huge! <br/>The coffees are fantastic, and the chocolate milkshakes very chocolatey and sweet. Kids declared the Nutella hot chocolate with the smarties on the side to be the best ever

1 starWorst Service ever!!! Went there this past Wednesday. My mom ordered Rose wine and was told when I got my drink that they had no Rose... no biggy. Then she wanted to order her meal... salmon fishcakes... again nothing. Shen then asked for the chicken schnitzel like I did but with veggies and salad and was given chips and veggies. She asked for a glass of Merlot and was given a glass of white wine in a dirty glass... <br/><br/>When the bill came only my cokes showed and the schnitzel. The bill should have been R172 and it was R201. And it only had 4 items listed... Not too mention the schnitzel was hardly crumbed. I will never set foot in one these restaurants again. We would have been better off going to Primi next door for pasta.
Vernon Wilson
I was there on two separate occasions and it's safe to say both times I was underwhelmed. Food is slightly above average and way overpriced. Basically what you pay for is not what you get. With many options in that area it's safe to say I won't be there for a third time.
Trevor Pols
Every now and then you wake up feeling like pizza... So why not have one?<br/><br/>Off to Knead in Muizenberg we went for some breakfast pizza! Yummy! I ordered it with extra cheese and I could smell it being carried over to our table from a distance! <br/><br/>Let me just say, oh my word it was good! The extra cheese made a huge difference, but it gets a solid 8/10. We also had the juice of the day which was apple and pear, yummy yum yum! The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the service was a bit slow.<br/><br/>Can't wait for another breakfast pizza adventure :)<br/>Enjoy!
Lauren Kim
Nothing better after walking the dogs on the beach to be treated to hot coffee and scrumptious food. Even though the signs said no dogs they graciously allowed my two Labradors to sit with us while we are breakfast. A beautiful spot with a view - coffee hot and strong (drank it too quickly to remember to photograph it) Poached eggs and bacon - winner. The omelettes weren't greasy and packed with filings! Look forward to going back for lunch and dinner soon
Bee
Nice location and delicious smoked salmon salad sandwhich! Didn't enjoy the two bones found in my salmon though. The peanut butter smoothie is a must.<br/>Good interior and nice vibe. Knead
Megan Brown
One of my new favourite spots. The setting is perfect, food was delicious and the service was excellent. I'll definitely be back for more soon
HKT B
This place gets a 3,5 because of the view and cool surf decor but the service is poor. We arrived as it opened and were greeted by a grumpy waitress who remained that way throughout. As soon as the table was cleared she was asking us if we wanted the bill and subtly making it really unpleasant for us to stay longer and maybe even order something else? The fresh orange juice comes in a small glass with lots of ice cubes.
Feni
Extremely bad service. Bad attitudes from the floor staff and the silly leaf garnishes aren't even washed. Fantastic if you enjoy a side of bugs with your breakfast, otherwise, don't bother and don't you dare expect any apologies or efforts to rectify the situation from the staff.<br/>
Anandie
Love this spot. Great for early mornings coffee and freshly baked goodies. a nice restaurant with cute decor and layout. The pricing is average. and the espresso is great!
Scott Barrett
I always go here before or after my surf with their selection of treats and their amazing pizza and why not with an ocean view definitely one for everyone to go to. I love this place but definitely try it.
Jess
Such a cosy and delicious spot! Always warm and always smells like fresh bread and coffee (what more could you want??). We popped in this morning for a take away hot chocolate and pastry to have from our car as we watched the rain and sea after a surf. Our sit down experiences have also been fantastic! Such a great buzz, friendly staff and extensive range of breakfast and lunch options. All reasonably priced and all so tasty. Love the bakery feel and the beautiful location. Never had a bad experience :)
Kirsty Metcalf
Arrived for breakfast at 11.30am and didn't get our drinks until 12.30 and then food around 1pm so really not impressed! Some people in the group enjoyed their food (breakfast pizza, eggs Benedict). I had the French toast with fruit which was chewy and super bland! Chai latte also not near enough chai spice. All round disappointing other than the setting. Wouldn't try knead muizenberg again in a hurry.

My mum and I took a trip to Muizenberg to watch my younger sister catch a few waves and to catch some seaside sunshine and salty air ourselves. Lunch time came around and I suggested grabbing some takeaways from Knead, despite the not-so-great reviews I'd read. My mum stayed on the beach with our puppy while I took a walk to Knead where I was shown to the section of the cafe that was specially setup for takeaway orders. The interior is modern and fresh, with a cool color scheme and wall art that makes it fight right into the surfing culture of Muizenberg.<br/><br/>I ordered two grilled chicken rolls, two hot chocolates for my surfer sister and her surfer friend and a homemade gingerbeer for myself. My only complaint was that my order was incredibly simple and while the hot chocolates came quickly, I waited a while for my food order. I stood around watching many other people flit past me and collect their takeaway orders and waiting in anticipation. Good thing I was feeling pretty chilled out and not in a rush and I just smiled when they apologized for the wait. My mum and I enjoyed a little picnic lunch on Muizenberg beach; out rolls were delicious, the chicken was tender and tasty and the ciabatta rolls were so fresh. <br/><br/>I look forward to going back and perhaps testing their service of sit down orders!
Deborah Talbot
There's a good selection of breakfast options and a lovely view. Great if you want to go for a walk along the Muizenberg catwalk after breakfast. Unfortunately it can get a little noisy inside at times.
Nicky Visentin
Service was a bit slow but overall the food was satisfactory and the view is amazing. Not a bad place to stop by and warm up after a surf!!!
Natalie Fraser
I really don't like giving bad reviews but Muizenburg's Knead left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. From the moment I walked in I was met with unfriendly stares until someone finally lead me to a seat. After sitting for quite a while I was offered something to drink and received a watery flat white. Despite this, I was optimistic about the food as I am a fan of the Knead branches in general. Once again, I waited and waited before having to catch someone's attention to place an order. Taking my order was made to seem like they were doing me a huge favour. I ordered the Roast Veg salad with no feta. It came with about 4 pieces of butternut and bits of feta (as well as one huge chunk). Clearly they had thrown it all together and just picked all the feta out. All I can say is, thank goodness I don't have an allergy. The rest of the salad was just a pile of greens with slightly cooked cherry tomatoes. No sign of the slow roasted tomatoes. As a waitress myself I will never undertip but in the end I didn't even know who I was tipping as I was never served by the same person twice. So I just hope the tip went to the one friendly staff member who was there. It's a great location so it's a pity it can't mirror that. It made me regret spending my money there.
Claire BO
This Knead has the advantage if a sea view. It is a lovely spot with good service, a friendly, chilled atmosphere and lots of surfers frequenting the restaurant. The coffee is great, the pizza is delish and the toasted sandwiches too. I love the bacon, feta and cheesy chorizo pizza... So good! Apparently this is the original Knead. Make a point of enjoying a Saturday or Sunday afternoon relaxing at Knead, Muizenberg.

Service is extremely slow.  Waited 20 minutes in total for service and a cup of tea.  When the tea eventually arrived, the cup was filthy. Difficult to get a staff members attention.  The bill also took forever.  I have been 4 times over the last 2 years and each time the service has been poor.

Great spot offering GF options! Can be a bit inconsistent with food and service, overall, always a great place to watch the waves whilst enjoying a good meal..

Surf, seagulls and eggs... sunny side up! Knead in Muizenburg is definitely a cool spot for breakfast for after a sneaky surf session on a Saturday. Wholesome and unpretentious food is the way to to go! If you don't have time then get a croissant, so you can be full for 15 minutes and feel French for 30 minutes.

Very slow service! Even paying is hard! The breakfast is very good- fritters. The view is also very good - location makes up for some of the slowness

What a beautiful setting... This place never disappoints! Great place to go to anytime of the day, quick and amazing service. Their pizza's are addictive.

Fantastic service, great setting, good coffee (although quite a milky flat white). The food was disappointing though - didn't feel like it had been put together with thought. Eggs not done as per order, bread under-toasted, rocket wiltered, not served hot... Oh well.

Really funky nice restaurant, very busy, not always enough staff, so service is a little slower than needs to be. Other than that selection of coffees and beers are great as well as the food.

Service is not all that great but they do make the best Chicken Caeser Salads in my opinion. They should also consider servicing beverages in more appropriate glasses.

The service is shocking. You can stand around for ages before you are seated and once that happens it could take another age just to get your order in. Food is not bad. Good selection of beers. Unfortunately the service is not worth going back for ever.

I have walked into Knead more than thrice to find myself just standing there, waiting for a waiter to acknowledge me and point me to a seat. Several times, after standing there for a while, I just walked out. Clearly, the place was just way too busy. On the odd occasion that they were able to bless me with a seat, I've had their all day breakfast (cheese omelette) which was great. Their rooibos cappuccino is also nice. It's a nice spot if you can get some service.

The service at Knead used to be terrible but it seems to be picking up- still best to avoid it on a busy day. I love the glassed off area outside so we don't have to battle the winds while we eat anymore and the takeaway section upstairs is super useful for a quick lunch or a cup of coffee

Now that a couple of new cafe's have opened I think that Knead is going to have to sort itself out.  If you only have an hour for lunch you have to harass the staff to get your order, give you your order and make sure you ask for the bill when they deliver to your table. The menu and food is great (especially the bread), but the service puts me off every time.  I haven't been back to Knead since Blond and Beard opened!

Beautiful setting, beautiful view. Amazing building. But worst service I have received I have tried to go about 5 times because of its location. And every time the service has got worse. Twice we have got up and walked out before our drinks even arrived. Food is decent. Wish they will sort out their management and staff

An extremely beautiful setting, one of the best looking Knead venues of the franchise. On the waterfront in an old building with the surfers of Muizenberg strolling past the glass front, the restaurant brings a sense of calm. I visited the establishment on a busy Saturday morning and was seated fairly quickly, food and drinks came timeously and the staff were friendly and helpful. This tranquil Saturday morning was definitely what I Knead-ed.

Best restaurant experience in Cape Town so far. Really busy and still providing great service and good food. Lots of veg options on the menu but not too sure snout gluten free choices (it is a traditional bakery). Also right on the beach.

What a terrible experience! <br/><br/>After a long walk along the beach (knead as the end destination) we arrived at a chaotic space, with waitrons running around and no one particularly interested in assisting us in any way. After finally being pointed in the direction of an area with a potentially open table we were forced to beg for menus. <br/><br/>After a 20 minute wait, Sue (the shining light that cast some pleasantness over this whole event) came to the rescue and swiftly took our order. After a longer than expected wait, our coffee finally arrived. <br/><br/>Sadly this is where things took a turn... For the worst. We had ordered three toasted cheese, two with tomato and one with salad instead of chips. The kitchen seemed completed unphased by the order and dished out three toasted cheese with chips, delivered by waitrons who did not know what they were delivering or who had ordered it. When the kitchens mistake was pointed out to Sue she once more jumped into action but was yet again let down by the seemingly uninterested kitchen. The solution for the kitchen was to throw some salad on top of one portion of chips and to crudely pry open two toasted sandwiches and toss in four slices of badly cut tomatoes. <br/><br/>The next disappointment in this instalment that was Knead came in the form of the "muesli" which was actually just some oats soaked in mango juice. The menu described berries, which was interpreted by the kitchen to mean a single strawberry cut into tiny slithers. The grated apple I was promised was merely a few thin slices. <br/><br/>In conclusion, this wonderfully situated restaurant with its great views and wonderful decor was severely let down by a kitchen who seem to be servicing another restaurant and menu, resulting in the miserable rating. Please sort yourselves out to resemble a tenth of what you previously were<br/><br/><br/><br/>

Beautiful old building and enjoyable food and coffee. However, we waited around a long time to be shown to our table and get given our menus. The kitchen also got our orders wrong.

The service at Knead is definitely below standard. We had to seat ourselves and waited at least 20 minutes for menus. All our orders were wrong. The food isn't bad and it is in a nice spot but this does not make up for the service and absent host.

The coffee here is amazing, and we also tried the Bakers Board which was delicious! I think the only thing I don't really like about this Knead is that every time we go there, there has been hardly any goods in the bakery, which is a little disappointing considering it is a bakery.

We loved Knead! Definitely will be going again. Nice setting and view. Food and flavour quality was great. We really enjoyed our meal. :) I had their veggie burger - best vegetarian burger I've had in all my travels!

A firm old favourite that has been in operation for ages, and has undergone refurbishment and expansion in recent years. Always good for something warm to drink after being out on the beach or in the waves, and the bakery always smells divine.

The service at was good but when we arrived most of the pastries were sold out. I had cappuccino which was lovely. View of the beach and surfers was amazing and lovely atmosphere inside the place. Would visit again.
