Lovely atmosphere. That was our favourite element. The prawns were also very fresh and very tasty. Normally I prefer to have a bit more flavour in my rice, but after eating it with the prawns, I understood why the rice was plain. It doesn’t detract from the very fresh taste, as it normally would. I can say these are some of the best prawns I’ve had.
Melt in the mouth muscles, followed by delectable prawns. All in delicious homemade sauces. The atmosphere and owner are warm, welcoming and fun. We had a great time, and look forward to visiting again. Thanks Carla and Alvina.
Recently visited Carla’s for a birthday dinner, we visited for the first time after many recommendations and were pleased with this quaint establishment. Food was lovely (prawns insane), good hands on and friendly service.
Would be ideal to have some more ventilation in the restaurant. (Load shedding at fault)

The most delicious food, authentic Mozambique style cooking . Owner is hands on. Limited menu but generous portions and so tasty.
Had a great meal here on holiday. Only serve prawns - and they are excellent.

A quaint little 26 seater venue with pleasant Portuguese music playing. A cosy intimate ambience. The meal offering limited to exclusively focus on prawns (nothing else on the menu due to a red tide at the time of our visit. Indicating that this spot serves fresh seafood). Though I believe nothing else needs to be on the menu, since Carla's is known for PRAWNS. If you're looking for The Most Delicious prawns in Cape Town, this is the Go-To spot. At first I thought the price was steep, however after tasting the prawns in that Magical Sauce, I believe it's well worth every penny. The latte was also quite delicious. Seriously the best prawns I've ever had. At least once in your life, treat yourself to a plate of prawns at Carla's. You can thank me later😂 Our compliments to the Chef❤️

Delicious Prawns. Tasty and Firm with a great sauce/marinade and a generous size. Carla is wonderful - friendly chatty and super accommodating with my aged mum. Very considerate and thoughtful and a great memory. Wonderful real atmosphere in a small and intimate setting - we had a fantastic evening. Thank you Carla. 😊
They do prawns absolutely perfectly. If you don't like praws, the peri-peri chicken but when you books, ask then to keep some as they often run out.
