After a surfing lesson I was super tired and hungry and I have been suggested about this place from the instructor of the school. Really good surfer sandwich, amazing chocolate cake, staff particularly kind! Don't hesitate to go there after a morning ride!
Under renovation outside at the moment but has a marvelous ambience of old world coffee bar and restaurant. The decor is a little on the tatty side which adds to its charm. A big plus is that for the smokers, you can have a coffee and breakfast in a separate smoking area.
Reasonably priced menu. Gaslight breakfast is adequate. Place needs a good clean. Lovely views close proximity to transportation.
Awesome food for a really good price. Great view of the beach. Great place to hide from the weather on a windy day. When the weather is good its disappointing that you end up inside looking out.

This little spot is quite hidden away on the beachfront and hence is sometimes overlooked. I had one of the best breakfasts there that I've had in Cape Town and was shocked at how reasonable their prices are! Extremely friendly and efficient staff, good views and a bar attached to it, what's not to love..??
I love this place! The service is awesome and they are friendly. My fave faves are the crumbed prawns and mushrooms and scramble egg with salmon. I love the iced coffee or anything coffee and if I need to really unwind, I can have a beer over breakfast reading a book or watch the surfers ride a wave or 2! On a perfect day, you can walk off the calorie build-up up to Kalk Bay ;)
Simple, tasty breakfasts all day at a great price and right on the beach. It's well worth a visit. They also have a coffee bar area that allows smoking inside. I really recommend this place!
