We ordered takeaways, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, roti and mixed raita. So delicious with just enough amount of spice to differentiate them from the rest. We will definitely order again.
This is a small restaurant on the upper floor of a shopping centre. It’s clean and attractive. We had a platter for one as a starter, a Chicken Madras and a Chicken Tikka Masala with a buttered Naan bread. Everything tasted freshly prepared. The correct spiciness for both the Medium and the Mild dishes, with the difference being the added chilli in the Medium. Service was relaxed but attentive and helpful. We have found our new favorite curry restaurant in the Edenvale and Bedfordview area.
We always get takeaways here, I personally love their Briyani's, it is simply divine. The best place for some amazing authentic north Indian cuisine. I am literally lucky as I stay a few metres away from this place.
Got takeaways from Taste of Punjab, so I can't comment on the service. Food was good lacked a bit of flavor from all dishes ordered but I will definitely be back. Portions are big and worth the price.
We are always on the hunt for another good indian restaurant and this is definitely one of them that we'll return to! The staff are helpful and friendly and the owner/manager's presence and interest was even better. We ordered the chana masala and the matar mushroom with naan and paratha and the food was SO delicious!! We both ordered medium and honestly they were closer to hot but the flavours were delicious and so I was happy with the heat! Highly recommend this local restaurant for some authentic and yummy indian cuisine!!
Stopped for a later afternoon bite after being highly recommended by a collegue. Shared potato bites as a starter, wife & daughter shared chicken korma, I had the Punjabi lamb curry off the bone with butter nan - flavours were superb & the meal went down well. Will definitely return to savour more of their menu.
A quaint typically Indian restaurant located in a not-so-great looking shopping centre. The food doesn't take long to arrive, staff are friendly and quality that rivals restuarants double the price. Sadly though the "bunny" is a fraud: instead of a classic Durban curry it's filled with a North Indian lamb curry. Relatively tasty but it's not what it supposed to be.
Taste of Punjab has been a favorite of mine for a while. The food has always been of a high standard and super tasty. I have seen a major improvement of late, which means they value their clients and their business reviews. The staff are friendly and cute.
The prices are fair for portion size and quality.
I love recommending them to visitors! :) this is definitely the place for fresh, quick, home cooked style meals. Yum!!!
Best samoosas in town... they've made the decor a little funkier and when you see Indians dining in an Indian restaurant, then it must be good! Their wine list has a bit to be desired though... nearly all of their white wine choices are Sauv Blanc... a little variety would be good!
The food was fantastic and the nan was excellent!
I would rate them higher but the cloth napkins were not very clean(which Reminded me of being in India though so I guess it was an authentic experience).
Still the same brilliant food they've always had but now with a stunning sunset to dine with in their better placement.
Delicious food bursting with flavour. True tastes that remove me of my journeys to India.
Always good food and good service.
Enjoyed my meal
Very good Indian food. Friendly staff. Decor can be better. The butter chicken dish is really one the best I have ever tried. They also do take aways.
I like it, its a small quirky Indian restaurant jammed between two other shops on the top level of a small centre, but it works, the food is great, service staff are excellent, the curries are well priced and beautifully spiced, the garlic Naan bread is awesome! They also do a brisk takeaway trade judging by all the delivery guys coming and going
The food is absolutely amazing. Their butter chicken curry is stunning, and I can really recommend anything on their menu. The area is not the best, and I would recommend take-away, but the food is totally worth it.
Local Northern Indian cuisine. Food always good and usually not over crowded. Small seating area. Centre where it is located is small and doesn't offer anything else that is significant. Can feel unsafe as it is quite dark at night
Best Indian food east of Joburg. Great service. Extensive menu. Well priced. Be prepared to wait for your meal because it is always freshly prepared.
They have the best curry for me...tastes like homemade cooking!! The shopping centre is a bit of a dump. But the food here is great with large portions.
Great tasting food, especially the veg Manchurian.. Only downside, is that most curries are mostly Gravy and very little meat or veg.
Take away order: delicious, complex, generous and high quality Indian food. Mild could be slightly milder, otherwise it would be 5 star's. I'll be back.
