Went to Trieste for a sweet treat. The decor is cute and happy, makes your mood better as you enter. I ended up getting two scoops of ice-cream: bar one and vanilla. The ice-cream was good, but at R27 a scoop, it was pretty pricey in comparison to an ice-cream from Paul's which is R25 a scoop and has more of a unique taste. Nice place though.
Um....YUM! There's not many places around joburg who offer good ice cream in a cone. Trieste makes some goood ice cream - full of flavour. The owner/manager is so friendly and helpful.
Have been going to Trieste for over 10 years. Without a doubt, the best ice cream in Johannesburg. Their panini are excellent and fillings cater for vegetarians as well. Excellent coffee. Service always good with friendly staff. Really worth a visit!
Definitely the best gelato in Joburg, and the perfect spot to spend a hot Sunday afternoon.They do the best lemon sorbet.The Turkish Delight, Coconut and Mango flavours are also my favourite.
Casual spot on the Greenside strip to stop for gelato. Cherry, Pistachio and Salted Caramel were delicious however slightly expensive at R24 a scoop.
Went here for some ice cream,had turkish delight and chocolate which was smooth, delicious, Turkish delight was a bit sweet but I enjoyed it
Nice little Italian coffee shop that has great gelato. The owner had been to Italy to be trained on how to make the perfect scoop of ice cream and has really excelled at this the place also serves coffee and sandwiches
So cute! Tiny little place, they serve samies and handy foods, but really tasty! I had the salami toastie, they are not shy with the cheese or the salami. My boyfriend had the beef samie, also not shy with the beef, (I even liked his better than mine!)... They're all great... But their selling point... Is their ICE-CREAM. It is so delicious, it's not too sweet and overwhelming and you can choose the most amazing flavours, such unusual combinations, and what cone you'd like it in, or a cup of course. If you don't stop by for anything else but their amazing ice-cream, you're still a winner! They also have sorbet/yoghurt kind of ices, if you're not a cream fan. Love this little treasure. Love. This place is such a cute and cosy local establishments that offers a great variety of dishes (both sweet and savoury) it's definitely a great place to grab waffles and ice-cream. The service is friendly, welcoming, efficient and quick 👍🏽

Rose infused (with actual rose petals which were kind of overpowering and the texture was disturbing)

Some of the best ice cream and sorbets in Johannesburg. A delightful environment and extremely friendly staff. On top of the incredible selection of ice creams Trieste offers an impressive array of coffees and deli style sandwiches.
I think this might be the only place to get good ice cream in Johannesburg. And it's not just the high quality of the gelato but also the setting in which you are able to enjoy it. Trieste has an easy going, homely feel, that if I had ever been to Italy I would imagine this is what a place selling ice cream in Venice would be like. The food is also great, I tried a roast beef panini on olive bread on my first visit and that's all I have every time since. A coffee, a roast beef panini and two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. Perfection.
One of my favourite places for ice cream and waffles in Joburg. It’s very laid back with a lovely outside seating area. Best of all it’s not located in a mall!!
