Now here is an Italian restaurant with a difference! It isn't your run of the mill trattoria. It has a lot of dishes that you don't find in many other Italian restaurants, but what I really love about it, is the homemade taste to everything, the authenticity of it, and the very fresh ingredients. When I went there last I had the carbonara pasta---I have never had carbonara like this!!!! And I had canoli--and wow! The owner's nona would be proud! Its just so natural, so authentic, so...so truly Italian!!!!!
I love this place! Not only for the extensive menu but the fact that everything is clearly labelled with vegetarian and vegan options- life is so much simpler! Being vegan I love this. The mushroom pasta is outstanding (vegan) and the Neapolitan is too. Service is very good, the owners are never too far away which I really like.
What a fantastic little place! The food is authentic Italian and prepared with fresh ingredients full of flavour, and the menu offered a wide variety. Staff was friendly and service excellent. Loved the rustic Italian decor - reminded me of being in Italy. I'll surely be back soon to try other of their amazing dishes. To end off the meal the Segafreddo espresso was made to perfection - strong and creamy - served with homemade Italian crostoli which were out of this world! My new favourite lunch spot.
A lovely cafe owned and run by an Italian couple who are as passionate about food as they are about service. Italian food lovers, this venue is a "must" for you!!
Mafiosi has just opened up recently in Blu-Bird centre. We decided to have the lasagne and one of the Ciabatta sandwiches. The pasta was well baked and the meat and cheese were generous, which made for a tasty dish. The Ciabatta was fresh and the fillings were delicious!
Definitely worth a try!
This little treasure is tucked away in a corner within Blubird shopping centre.
After ordering we were offered a complimentary bread basket which reminded be so much of being in Italy. Three different types including grissini. The olive oil was also spectacular!
We had an array of pasta dishes: beef lasagne, penne bolognese, spaghetti carbonara and my favorite of all (my dish) was the spaghetti formaggio - taleggio, Gorgonzola and parmigiano, walnuts and nutmeg *mind blown*.
The deli counter also stocks different cheeses and cold meats as well as imported Italian goods.
Mafiosi is a definite must!
Blu Bird Fournos - Stunning place with really friendly and helpful staff. When my hubby and l were there a little while back, we had a waitress who was totally on the ball and honest about the various aspects of our meal.
The manager who was on duty kept a tight but very friendly ship. Her staff seem to enjoy working with her!
Great Italian "bar e negozio di alimentari". A smart cafe and combined specialist food store who make their own wonderful pasta and sauces. Which you can eat there, or take away, to prepare yourself, later. Great coffee, too and wonderful friendly people. In a pretty little shopping centre that''s quite delightful itself. Recommend.
