Really cosy and attentive staff. Food was also tasty. Ordered the grill platter. More than enough for the 2 of us. An ideal place to visit if you would like a quiet spot to talk, but not far from the action.
What a little gem! A cosy restaurant, ideal for long dinners with friends, which is what we did! The food is fantastic - turkish cuisine at it's best, with a variety of dishes to choose from. I would suggest that you go and try a few dishes - I personally really enjoyed the flatbreads with dips and spreads, and the lamb chops is delicious! This eatery doesn't serve or allow alcohol, but mockcocktails is so refreshing :) And of course, you must try the decadent desserts! Go and check it out :)
Mixed grill is the way to go as you get to sample the popular dishes the restaurant has to offer. Exotic tastes do not disappoint. Great service and fair waiting time for your meals.
A lovely little place where zahavas used to be. They've cleaned up the place nicely and the garden has been leveled and paved, and you don't have to worry about pigeons pooping on your plate.
The service is friendly and fast, and eager amd helpful.
We are greeted witg a complimentary tea, and offered a pipe but smoking is so last century. The tea is a nice touch.
Btw there's no liquor, religious reasons maybe? The mocktails appear to be well recieved.
But there is a nice vegetarian menu.
Each main comes with 3 salads, the salads are pretty varied, pineapple relish, pickled apple, tzatziki, humus, tabbouleh, banaganouche and some other things.. all nice.
Our table orders lamb sheesh, chicken sheesh, chicken wings, lamb chops, and the veg mussaka (sic).
It arrives swiftly, its all delicious. The lamb melts, the wings are beautifully crispy and moist. The mussaka is a little boring,it appears to be potatoes in tomato pulp, i dono, nicely seasoned though. Its all served with flatbreads, different to a la turka flatbreads, these are thinner and a lot less pancakey, i prefer turkas tbh.
I had mint apple tea for dessert, lovely, we also had baklava and ice cream, not my favourite, amd not amazing.
Its very affordable too, mains are about 100, qe ate for 5 at 150 a head.
Great food and service. Reasonably priced. Thanks Nadia and team. We will definitely be back! The lamb meatballs were spectacular - I think it was called Ezme Kofte.
Genuine authentic Turkish/Lebanese middle Eastern food - we chose the mixed platter for 2 with 5 different salads and flatbread - recommended - pity no liquor license !
Went here a couple of weeks ago for an early lunch, place was quiet. Decor is ok, could do with a bit a sprucing up to match the cuisine they serving. Some couches and bean bags would be good. Apart from the decor, the food was amazing😍, so fresh. Definitely recommend this place and I will be back.
The fair at 47 on Grant may be a little on the pricey side but it sure makes up for it in taste. We shared some mixed grills as well as the falafel and Cag Kebab. The falafel is phenomenal and as good as your get in Beirut. Kebabs and Kofte are the way to go here; deliciously succulent and perfectly spiced. The Cag was too much on the fatty side for us but we'll definitely be back for some of our mouth-watering favourites!
I would highly recommend popping in for something different in Joburg of quality. The owner here is very hands on and takes care of the restaurant. There is a wide selection of vegetarian items on the menu and something for everyone.
I would recommend trying their mains such as the moussaka and pumpkin curry. The salads and dips here are extremely fresh and tasty - you will find a few things here that you won't see at other restaurants such as watermelon and feta salad.
Most certainly, I will come back for another meal.
Booked a table for supper to celebrate a birthday.
The owner, Nadia, is wonderfully accommodating. She specially prepared fish curry for us. The fish wasn't the freshest but we enjoyed it.
We also had prawn curry. The prawn curry was very good. We especially enjoyed the side salads. The pineapple salsa and avocado and strawberry side were really good.
The children ordered the mixed grill platter with flatbread. The chicken was definitely the star of that platter.
I'd return for another meal.
Excellent service with incredibly tasty food!!
Food was fantastic. Turkish food with a south African twist. The restaurant is owner managed and it shows. The meals are well prepared and staff are well trained. They know the menu very well and make inightful suggestions. Service was great.
The atmosphere is wonderful. There is a small courtyard at the back outside which is really nice in the evenings. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. It gets busy so best make a booking if you intend going
Turkish restaurant that has Lovely food with relaxing vibes. Inside and outside area to sit.
One of the most authentic Turkish cuisines out there this south of the Equator ♥️ 10/10
Food is always good very tasty and awesome salads not your everyday salad.. Can be pricey but portions are big u not left hungry.. The place puzzles me as some days are packed n other days completely dead but food no complaints
Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Halaal Turkish food that is thoroughly original and authentic. No alcohol served but incredible Turkish teas.
Excellent Turkish food, a bit pricey but portions are rather large. The atmosphere is great and management and staff are friendly and accommodating. It's great for large groups.
