We used the entertainer app to find The Fat Fish. It was a great evening. Awesome food and the service was great. We were served by Bronwyn who was just fantastic!

We had the salmon special and KingKlip off the menu, which was prepared perfectly...
Staff even assisted us without a booking (although I'd recommend one for peak days), and accommodated us around load-shedding and keeping the food perfectly prepared...
Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu out...
What a warm and welcoming eatery with a wonderful ambiance. The menu has something for everyone and a wine list to match. The Hake and chips ranks up there with the best - beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and attentive - thank you Sarah for making us so welcome

Thanks to a friend living in George I had lunch at this beautiful restaurant. Please, do a favor to yourself and try the mussels but you’ll not be disappointed with the menu. Good wine selection... the deserts are to die for. Warm welcoming, design, attention to details. Good service... will come back for sure
Great friendly staff, restaurant gets busy so book. Fresh decor and good presentation of food. I had the mango fish curry, fish bit over cooked but a hearty meal ask for side of fresh chilly to add extra bite. A good choice for out of towners
Crusted Parmesan Kingclip is a must. Awesome venue and a must attend when in George. Well appointed and really a great venue. The waiter was on point and service was great.
The Fat Fish is truly one of my favourite seafood restaurants. The best beer batter hake I have ever had in my life. Their sushi and coctail specials are also a great idea.

What a fabulous evening! Delicious food and Yolandy a delightful waitress! Great eine selection, readonable prices and a lovely atmosphere!
Good food and a pleasant setting made for a very enjoyable dinner. Had the chicken espatada for starters which was delicious. The mains of fish was good, but not outstanding. Would visit again on another trip to George.
This came highly recommended and it was worth it. Amazing service by Cindy our waitress and the special of the day was fish and it was perfect. Good recommendations were also made on the wine list.
The place is great, the wait time was about 30 minutes,the server will(sorry if I forgot your name) was a great server, the the atmosphere was fine I don't really like music when eating but it's my problem,as seafood this was delicious and the mash potato as well,as a Muslim I would recommend this place for other Muslims for seafood.

It's simple, we love the fat fish! The staff are friendly and competent, the decor is trendy and cosy at the same time, the food is excellent and I'm particularly pleased that there are some original vegetarien dishes.
We first went to the Fat Fish in 2017 and it's as good today as it was then. It's not often that you get this kind of consistency.
Hadn't been in quite some time. I ordered the battered Hake &chips. Best Hake I've had in years. Melted in my mouth, the batter wasn't greasy or over powering. Hubby had the Hake and Sesame calamari. Really unique dipping sauce - was super tasty. Pudding was also light and tasty. Good service and food came quickly. Will return.

We always enjoy the seafood platter for 1 but tried out the grilled whole fish and it was so delicious! Always a treat visiting the fat fish
Best best best! We were just passing George and were in need of a good spot to meet with friends before taking to the road again and what a gem we found! We went by reviews and popularity and we were more than impressed! From the kind, welcoming and very happy waitress (LuLu) to the whole service, the menu, the wine list, the manger popping by to check on us to the amazing garden area outside, everything was ON POINT! The way the food is presented - mouth watering! And the taste - to die for! Absolute must! Will be coming back and will be recommending to all!

Fantastic food, friendly service by Bongi, relaxing atmosphere and an overall aesthetic pleasure! We ordered fish cakes and bobotie springrolls from the starters. The 3 fish cakes were packed with flavor and the springrolls accompanied by tomato and olive atchar did not disappoint! For mains we had the most succulent parmesan crusted grilled Kingklip with the perfect hint of chilli - the best we’ve ever tasted! Dessert was a tasteful journey of meringue, vanilla, banana and banana custard with grilled pineapple, whilst hubby enjoyed the double layer white and dark chocolate hazelnut tart with orange sorbet! We would give 10 🌟 if we could!! Definitely a new favorite 💞

What an amazing seafood restaurant! Hidden away from the main road, but yet such great atmosphere and service! A must for families and overseas visitors (like us). Also some of the best seafood we had in a long time (make sure to ask about the Parmesan chili crust for your fish). We will be back for sure!
