Review Piatto - Edenvale

Had dinner 500g sirloin on bone R149 and shared 500g pork ribs R159. They made delicious food and the ribs are packed full of meat. Great friendly lady serving us. Definitely worth a visit and loads of exciting specials 😍❤️

We visited for lunch after some much needed rest from shopping. Piatto never disappoints with their specials. They always have the best specials, and they never compromise on quality, portions, and taste. We ordered the ribs and wings special,and the oriental wok. Both meals SO good, I couldn't help but eat the ribs and wings with my hands. It was enough for two people. We ended up taking the oriental wok home. The views from the restaurant make the vibe even better. Overall, great meals, a cute vibe, and friendly waiters.

What a lovely service we got,we got a nice warm welcome by Sypho & we were asked to whether we wanted to sit outside or inside,we opt outside because it was a lovely hot day…both areas were amazing…our waiter NoThabo was just delightful and so hands one… we have been to other Piatto but this one made us change our minds completely… thank you ❣️🫶🏿❣️

They've recently opened after some renovated. I had the steak flatbread which was absolutely yummy. I finished it off with some red velvet cake. The staff were really friendly and attentive. An overall good experience, even as a solo date.

The new revamped restaurant looks amazing. The staff are friendly. The breakfast was fantastic. Nice atmosphere and the manager also checks in on you. Overall, great experience!

The recent renovations have done this beautiful space so much justice. The staff are very warm and welcoming. The food I have tried has been lovely. My favourite part of all is the insane view!

I must say, I last went to this exact Piatto a couple years back. There’s changes within the property, the atmosphere is still as I remember. Very welcoming, friendly and a sense of humbleness. The food has amazingly kept its quality & flavour. Very consistent 🤞🙏. It’s definitely somewhere to go for a first date if you looking to impress😏🤙💪. Also as a family outing, a birthday celebration, get together with mates. It’s functional too all occasions. Try it! Do it! 👏 Would love to know how your experience was 😃😌🙏.

Since the revamp, this has easily become a favourite spot. Pricing is very fair for good wholesome and well proportioned dishes. The ambiance and view is spectacular and the service unbeatable.

The waiter Albert assigned to my table, he was patient and willing to assist me set up and take down. The food was delicious. Plenty of options to choose from and generous portions. Loved the Foccacia board and it's variety. The live entertainment was welcomed however a bit too loud a times. We had to shout across our table to hear each other. Overall a good night out in a welcoming atmosphere.

Nonhlanhla, Miranda and the entire team are exceptional, we had great service from the time we sat down. Several waitresses tended and checked in on us for the 90mins we dinned at this magnificent Piatto. Keep it up team, its service like yours that makes brands fly!!!

My wife and I came here for the first time and the restaurant itself looks nice and also have a good view. Weirdly that there's not many people but maybe because it's lockdown level 3. The food was very good, very reasonably priced and served very fast (might be the lack of customers?). Like most reviews here where many people complained about the service, from my experience it's no difference. My waiter gave off the vibe that she does not want to work and serve us. I even paid her a tip and she did not even say thanks.

We love this place again since the refurb. Due largely in part to the manager, Miranda. She's always on point and adds a personal touch to each visit. I will continue to patronize this Piatto as long as she's there 🏆👌🏽

Absolutely such an amazing experience, we had a small issue which was resolved within minutes with the manager miranda she is absolutely amazing at what she does, she knows how to run the restaurant and know how to make the customers happy the atmosphere is nice a great place for a dinner with your partner, family and also a great place to chill with friends and relax. Emmanuel provided excellent service! It was our first time visiting and he made our visit very memorable! Aside from the great service, the look of the restaurant and the ambience were fantastic as well! We will definitely be making this our date night stop and will be booking ahead to ensure that Emmanuel is working that day!

The restaurant is in an awesome location. The service is always extremely slow. It definitely does need an improvement. If they bettered this the restaurant has potential to be awesome. The management needs to look at this.

Ambience: A very cute restaurant. Not much of a vibe. Visited on a slow day so that could be the reason.<br/><br/>Service: One of the worst services I've ever received. It was close to non-existent.<br/><br/>Food: Had a strawberry daiquiri which was okay. Also had a Carrot and Ferrero Rocher cake. And wow! So moist and tasty.<br/><br/>

Made a booking at Piatto 30/04. When we got there our booking was under the wrong name and our table wasn't ready. Then we ordered the pizza special. It took very long, and we understood that because ot was very busy due to month end and the special there would be longer waiting times. Two hours later I asked the waiter to please let me know where our order was, as we had a 3 month and 3 year old with us that needed to get to bed. I asked the waiter to please just let me know where our order was. Later I had to ask him again, and he didn't even respond, but started shouting to the kitchen staff. We decided to leave. On our way out my wife told one of the kitchen staff (looked like he was in charge) we were leaving because of the service, he literally just threw his hands in the air and said nothing.<br/><br/>The worst? It was my wife's birthday.<br/><br/>Won't eat here again.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The portions are generous and the staff is friendly. <br/><br/>I’m not too big on the vibe. They could do more in terms of deco and also just music inside the restaurant. <br/><br/> But overall I would return but i’m not in a rush. <br/>

The service itself was great but the food was a huge disappointment. I’ve been here on many occasions and it has never been so bad. The Chicken Curry was more of a stew (super watery) and the Beef Trinchado had like 3 pieces of meat. Huge disappointment to say the least.

Average. Not as great as it used to be. Strong competition in the centre. Vibe should be better here. Ordered tradtional Portuguese chicken which was dry. They also charged me R25 for peri-peri sauce which you usually get on the table at most restaurants in this centre. I was not able to use my Edgars club card either which is still being advertised on the Edgars club website?? Anyhow this is my last time here unless its just for coffee in future. Good luck.

Wow!!!! Piatto surely makes the best breakfast and as well as looking out for the small details . Their presentation is amazing and their customer service is good too

It has an amazing view of Greenstone, the restaurant capitalises of this. I had the French toast with bacon and banana 🍌, we all shared each other’s meals. We also had an omelette with cheese, tomatoes 🍅 and mushroom, English breakfast, German Breakfast. Hot chocolate, was tasty, cranberry juice 🥤 orange 🍊 juice was fresh and the Americana coffee great.

2017-10-29<br/>This piatto has a lovely view of Greenstone hill, regardless of day or night. If you prefer night time, it could be very romantic. I always love how the napoletana pasta immerse in linguini taste. The spinach option is also tasty. To be a vegan and are able to find food in a restaurant that accommodate for general public is amazing! I'd highly recommend those who are vegetarian to bring your friends and family to this piatto. It not only has a stunning view but good fulfilling food. Not to be missed!

Haven't had any bad experiences at Piatto, Stoneridge. Their food is always delicious, service - fantastic. I've been here a couple of times and even hosted us for our Year End Luncheon.  Great atmosphere.

The Piatto is was clean and we quite liked the decor, but overall impression was not great. The view on the other hand was amazing. The Piatto view of Greenstone is honestly beautiful, but the rest of the restaurant doesn't have a wow factor at all. The coffee wasn't bad and the hot chocolate wasn't mind blowing either; so we wouldn't go for that. But the food wasn't bad, I had a the yogurt and muesli with fruit salad which was nice and healthy, but far to big for even me. The other half of Cookies&Cream enjoyed her meal, but wasn't wow'ed, but we were hungry and this met our needs. But if you looking for a wow meal, I don't recommend Piatto, if you looking for simple and a quick meal, then this is your place.

This place has an amazing view especially in the evening which makes you think you're not in the middle of the city. The food is average but the service more than made up for it. Avoid sitting at any of the tables close to the toilets though because of the smell.

We made a booking for 5 people on the public holiday. When we got there they didn't know about us and nothing had been set up. We wanted to sit outside which required them to put two tables together. My mum asked to sit in the corner and the waiter kept trying to put is in the middle where it is sunny. The food wasn't bad and the service average. Very average restaurant. In a pinch it's fine, but don't make it your first choice.

Really unimpressed with the lack of flavour of the dishes. Not much of a great restuarant. Just average. My first visit was my last visit. That's all.

The service was really bad, both waiters we had seemed like they were mourning a loved one... Day dreaming or just downright hated their jobs... The service was slow and many times we had to call a waiter from starting drinks to the main meal and for desert... The pasta order was totally the wrong dish, and when we complained the waiter was very miffed... Very bad service for a place that charges R120 for a small bowl of pasta... Just in general crap service... And no manager in sight...

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, so we agreed to try making at pasta at home and we will be back again if the taste doesn't come close! Chef, you have competition! Chicken strips, feta cheese, zucchini, mushrooms, olives prepared in napoletana sauce💞

I can highly recommend Piatto, they have good quality food, good variety on their menu and the waiters are attentive and very professional. The good service has stood out more for me than anything else.

Friday night saw us at Piatto in Stoneridge. We chose Piatto because of their varied menu. It is purported to cater to all tastes, whether you feel like a pasta or a steak, so seemed like a good option for our small group of family. The decor is stylish and modern but this restaurant is huge! There were quite a few patrons but it still looked half empty. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to be bumping into the table next door, but when you’re the only people in a section of a restaurant it tends to lack ambiance.

By far the best Piatto I've been to! <br/><br/>Great food, decor and vibe. Service is slightly slow, but overall, a pleasant night out! <br/><br/>Every time I go, I always enjoy the chicken schnitzel

We have tried several times and every time the food has been very average for the price with the service below par like so many franchises. There is plenty competition in our area and this establishment just does not cut for us despite the fantastic venue and views.

The ambience and decor is great,staff gave great service. It was date night, we ordered our starters and main course at the same time but after the starters plates had been cleared we waited close to 20min for our main meal. This was a deal breaker for me because we had ordered early and our meals had to come one after the other. The waitor didn't even communicate what was happening and the restaurant was not busy. All in all great food though.

We have been there several times, and never had a bad meal. The view out of the round window is lovely, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The service is good, but can sometimes be a little slow. <br/>Always friendly wait-staff, and delicious food is a winning combination.

Atmosphere <br/>- Sitting up stairs was very pleasant however the toilets are not the most sanitary<br/><br/>Food <br/>- Had a butternut soup which was satisfactory <br/>- The sirloin steak I had was tasty although a bit fatty<br/>- Oriental Wok was delicious. Waiter disappeared for long periods of time without checking in. However when I was waiting to pay about 4 waiters asked if I had been helped so it's possible that I did not have a good one. <br/><br/>Overall <br/>- Great value for money and it does not take long for the food to come out the kitchen. The food is tasty and it was a pleasant experience all round.

Ordered the Piatto burger and must say it was very terrible looks like a store bought patty and nothing looked like the picture on the menu, service was just as bad. Last time I go there.

The view and service (from Amber) were great. The atmosphere is also bustling and friendly. The wine list is quite limited, though, and both mine and my husband's pizzas were nothing to write home about. We'll have to come back to try some of their meat dishes, which I've heard are good.

Slow service all round. Not sure if it is the kitchen...but had to flag a few waiters to get general service delivered to our table. Have walked out once before when they had opened for service but were sweeping around me at breakfast...they need to pick up their standards a bit

Stoneridge Centre currently resembles a building site, so I moved as far from the noise as possible.<br/><br/>Friendly staff welcomed me and I selected where to sit as the restaurant was fairly empty.<br/><br/>I had planned a quick coffee but the display cabinet held round, delectable red velvet individual cakes. Excellent point of sale. 😉<br/><br/>My latte arrived within minutes and I loved the coffee being served on the side. <br/><br/>I was extremely pleased with the plating of the cake with a generous helping of cream. The cake itself was a bit too dense, but I loved the creamed cheese topping and the granules of sugar. Very tasty. Cream just right.<br/><br/>Overall a pleasant experience for a quick coffee and cake. Would like to return for a more substantial meal.<br/><br/>Well done.<br/> <br/><br/>PS. I must mention that the cake was R49.99 which is rather expensive, but it was big enough for me to bring the other bit home. :) (Still a bit expensive however)

Food was shocking! Won't be coming back here again! Pepperdew Steak filling was ice cold and the Prego steak roll was tiny and badly presented! Definitely not value for money.

This is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful view, went here for a party so we were a big table and the service was great! Food was delicious, full of flavour we had the grilled pork chops, chicken breasts, grilled fish, steak, pizza, too many to count and everything was good and the cheese cake and Oreo pudding......mmmmmm!

Despite being a chain restuarant, the Piatto in Greenstone stands out for their excellent service, ambiance and tasty dishes. Their steak and prawn combo is a winner :)

I went to the piatto in stoneridge centre on Monday and it was more than I expected. my wife and I were greeted at the door by the manager ( something you don't find anymore) and seated by a waiter called precious. she was amazing. she was prompt by taking our drink orders when we sat down. we ordered our starters and she brought us a type of flat bread that was delicious. our starters came and they were well above what I expected too see. my wife had Cypriot mushrooms and I had a chicken liver starter. our mains were lamb tjops for my wife and a lamb kleftico for me. I am very particular about lamb but it was amazing. all around piatto has not disappointed. needless to say I will be going back very soon!!!

My first time at any Piatto, very chilled, amazing view of Greenstone. I just wished they had a proper outdoor patio over looking Greenstone. Back to the food, we tried their pasta n pizza since its a Italian restaurant one tends to think that would be their speciality. Their Regina pizza was OK nothing to write home about just blend and their bacon n muchroom pasta very average, too much sauce. It lacked that balance as the sauce over powered the whole dish it gets to a point the sauce gets to you and throws you off completely . To be honest it's not a bad place but its not the kind of place I'd go to more often.

As always the sirloin Bistek and Sirloin blue were excellent. A meal well worth having. Staff are friendly and the service was great. Best onion rings in town.

If you're into working at a chilled coffee shop or restaurant while sipping a great cappuccino or berry smoothie, and biting into a delicious meal, this is the place for you. I love how you don't feel awkward at all dining alone here. The hosts and waiters are the sweetest ever and don't even get me started on the view. Its my second time here and there will definitely be a third time. - Piatto Stoneridge!

Recently visited this branch for a dinner as we felt there was an extremely wide variety of meals available for each and every person in the family to easily select something from pizza and pasta to espetada and lamb. So, we decided to give it a chance. <br/><br/>I have been ill to the stomach and been taking medication most of the morning after the meal. I had a feeling that this might occur and that there may also be hygiene/contamination issues hence my only writing the review now.<br/><br/>The waitress served us quite promptly and we ordered out drinks without much hassle. Thereafter, to understand the sequence of events we ordered a starters and our mains at relatively the same time. We started with a focaccia and I decided to try the haloumi ravioli. The waitress did not repeat the order and hence our main was not put through which was the first issue (but not a major concern). <br/><br/>The side vegetables we ordered came prior to the meal and were below average and lacked flavour - however, thank goodness, not served to us cold.<br/><br/>Secondly, once resolving this issue, my meal was prepared too quickly. I was going to send it back as the pasta was chewy and undercooked for a reason unbeknown to me. The staff in general at this restaurant require a lot of training and need to learn how to communicate better with each other and customers. <br/><br/>In addition, the kitchen obviously needs guidance and better management as they are unable to prepare a pre-packed vegetarian pasta. The prices of the meals here do not justify the quality and hence I am extremely disappointed. This business needs a lot work!<br/><br/>I look forward to management contacting me in this regard.

Met up for a friends farewell dinner. I ordered the "Pork Chops Alla Trentino" which was encased in a beautiful crunchy crumb and topped with chopped tomatoes, pesto and melted mozzarella. The only criticism is that the tomatoes were really tart and sour which put the dish out of balance with flavour.

Fantastic view of Greenstone if you get seated by the window. The service is friendly and quick. They know how to kook a steak and the 3 snail starter is truly something to try if you like snails. For good food Piatto is not badly priced.

My husband and I love to frequent this Piatto! It has such an upmarket, romantic vibe if you sit by the window that overlooks a lovely view of the city by night.<br/><br/>Our favorite meals to have here are the mouthwatering, soft and succulent Sirloin Peppadew, ohh mama! That is one delicious steak! And we have had it at 3 different branches and its always a winner!<br/>Camembert cheese I have as a main meal, because its scrumptious and rich.<br/><br/>For desert do try the chocolate parcels! Heck, don't wait for dessert, just go there any time of the day or night and get that awesomeness in your mouth! (Its a crispy phyllo pastry with a volcano of hot, oozing chocolate inside! - whats not to love?!) <br/><br/>On the flip side, we ordered the "Ice-cream with bar one sauce" and it did not taste good, also ordered the "Trio of desserts" but the cheesecake was 'off'. The manager responded promptly and professionally and the matter was solved within minutes.<br/><br/>Please excuse the dark photos, they had load-shedding at the time, but still brought all our food and drinks quickly.

This branch use to be my favourite one. I even celebrated my themed birthday party here and they were very accommodating with regards to my guests dressing up and having a cash bar. The service was always friendly and the food is decent. I love the view from here at night its stunning if you get to sit by the windows.

Disgusting service! Was basically ignored since the "waiter" Simon dropped off the menu and disappeared before taking a drinks order. Once the food was delivered, he never bothered to attend to me again or ask if everything was OK. When I raised this with the manager, Simon has the audacity to lie about ignoring me. The manager refused to get involved or try and resolve the issue. I have been here a few times, and each time the service was noticibly worse. Today was disgusting! Never go here!!!

The food is surprisingly good here. It's an average franchise restaurant, nothing special. If you're a local to the Greenstone area, it's not a bad spot for a meal during the week.

I am actually horrified at the level of service at this restaurant. We booked for 2:30 and we got our food at 4:30, when it eventually arrived, all 6 of our meals were cold, overdone and tough. <br/>After sending it back, the manager/owner had the ordasity to say we still had to pay half price for our food after none of it was eaten<br/>Never go to this restaurant

The venue is nice and relaxing, the view is quiet beautiful. Our waitor Charles was very good. He was attentive, even if he made a few errors he rectified them quickly. I ordered a grilled pork chop with mash, it was the thinnest burnt chop which was disguised with oodles of basting, it was so dry that but could be used as a weapon. I sent it back and seriously did not like it. I chose the special sirloin steak.. it was touch and again loads of basting. My partner had a chicken schnitzel with cranberry sauce, she thoroughly enjoyed it. So its average and dissapointed but still had fun. If I had a choice of going there again or going somewhere else.. i would go somewhere else

I popped in for a late lunch, the restaurant wasn't very busy. I enjoy being able to enjoy the weather sitting outside enjoying the views across Modderfontein. <br/><br/>Service was good, only issue I had - they were having issues with their card machines, which the waiter only informed me about when I requested the bill. <br/><br/>I ordered a veggie wrap which was delicious - the amount of aubergine in the wrap was very generous. Chips crisp and fresh. Portions are generous. My partner had a steak prego roll - the steak was cooked perfectly to his liking, and the size of the steak on the roll is a refreshing change from the usual sliver of steak you find on a prego.

This play really messed up my Sunday the service is bad my food had hair on I and it was just an awful experience I will not go back there ever again I will say though I enjoyed the Malvern pudding that's the only positive for me

Disappointing experience, food was ok but not great. Beautiful views of Greenstone and excellent location but unfortunately the service and food don't make it a worthwhile dining choice.
