Not sure if this is the right place to post this but couldn't find a page for the glenwood restaurant. But my boyfriend and I went to the glenwood restaurant last night for dinner and it was an absolutely incredible night! I can't explain how amazing the food is! We shared the gnocchi with oyster mushrooms and parsley to start and this could easily be the best thing my boyfriend has put in his mouth. I've never seen him enjoy something more! I can hands down say, that they make the best gnocchi I have ever eaten. ( I have grown up on home made gnocchi) we then went on to mains. I had the ricotta and spinach tortellini with a burnt butter sage sauce. This was incredible! Perfect amount of food! Jono had the puttanesca pasta ( excuse my spelling there) which was fabulous! And I managed to squeeze in a dessert of Apple tartain with homemade ice cream. Was delicious! This was our 4th time there and it never disappoints! I can happily say, Glenwood restaurant is the best restaurant in Durban!!
Glenwood bakery has the best bread in Durban. End of story. Their weekly pizza nights ensure they also have the best pizza in Durban too. If you are somebody that enjoys real food, made with attention to detail that begins with suppliers and ingredients and runs all the way through to the staff that brings you your perfect flat white and heavenly cheese croissant, then Glenwood Bakery is a must-visit destination. Adam and his staff are superb and his baked offers sublime.
Have been to their pizza night twice now, and I am a fan. I love how the menu changes each time; the atmosphere, the community, petting the neighbours' 4 legged family family members- all of it! I would highly recommend one tries it, at least once. I would suggest you call ahead to book a table, as it fills up quite quickly.
For a first experience having this kind of food, I really enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was comfortable and so beautiful while sitting outside. The service was wonderful and the brownie (which I finished so fast), was out of this world! I highly recommend visiting this spot.
The Glenwood Bakery is the best bakery in Durban. Period. The setting on the sidewalk in Glenwood is idyllic and the crowd is eclectic and offers up a wide variety of patrons, a real melting pot for all the people of Glenwood.
Booking is essential for dinners, there are hardly any tables available if you don’t book! But don’t let that put you off. Book a table, you will not regret it.
There are also a selection of juices available but if you would like a glass of wine with your pizza, bring your own, which is great and adds to the experience. I’ve had champagne with my gnocchi and beer with my pizza, its very relaxed and chilled.
Outstanding food. Outstanding setting. Friendly staff. The Glenwood Bakery is really the jewel of the glenwood restaurant scene 💎
I never fail to visit the Glenwood Bakery when I’m in Durban. It’s an institution, and you would struggle to find better bread anywhere else in the city (the Potato and Rosemary bread is particularly special). They serve great coffee and food at the cafe as well, ranging from toasties to silky fresh pasta, and top-notch bagels.
Had a wonderful morning for breakfast. Enjoyed the backers breakfast with coffee. The staff very accommodating and treatment with a smile and topped with laughter. Highly recommend.
This is definitely a little hidden gem, where you can smell the food before it arrives.
Almost feels like you are in a different city.
They have limited drinks and don't charge corkage. They are open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5pm to 9pm. All other days 6am to 14:00.
Staff are extremely friendly.
We had a magerita and Lahmojoun pizza, which was authentic, rich and absolutely delicious....you could taste the fresh basil on the magerita and the baby spinach on the lahmojoun...simply divine.
They also offer fresh cold pressed drinks.....
Delicious food made from homegrown ingredients, absolutely flavourful ⭐️
Beautiful as always. Food and service top notch. Their bagels for the win! Really good cappuccinos as well. Would highly recommend.
Once we found this bakery, we couldn't stop visiting. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is just wonderful. Everyone was so pleasant, especially Latoya and Amy. I wish I lived in Durban so I could have coffee here every day. Next time I visit from the U.S. I'll definitely come back.
Nice place to relax. You can either buy some bread or have breakfast there. It's is very convenient. The staff are very nice and the food there is delicious. Would recommend if you want to try a bakery out
