The warm welcome when you enter, the friendly staff and the ambiance was great...the service with Summer our waitress was excellent.
I enjoyed the food ...the chicken livers was really good, I'm not a burger person I would like a bit more variety on the other dishes.
The live music with David and Kerry doing their tribute to Ella Fitzgerald was fantastic.
A good night all round ...I'll definitely be back.

Awesome ambiance. Nachos were great. Enjoyed the guacamole as it was fresh. Enjoyed the 031 durban dry gin. Great view of the passing trains also. All in all will be back.
I found S43 December 2017, and visited numerous times during my holiday, including celebrating my birthday. Currently My favorite place in Durban for more than one reason:
1.Different Vibe Every Time:
Call before the time to hear if there are any events planned. From live music to salsa dancing, but always buzzing (love the communal table, if you are social like me)
2.Freshly Brewed Craft Beer:
As far as I know, the beer that's brewed a couple of meters from where you are having your meal, is only available at like 2 or 3 places, so really bring meaning to the word 'CRAFT' beer. (Order the testing plate)
3.Food Is Amazing:
Order anything, you will not be disappointed! Deep Fried Chicken Waffle is a showstopper.
4.Service
Everybody went out of their way, every time to make our visit special, including the owner.

What an amazing vibe! We attended a salsa evening which we thoroughly enjoyed because of the live music and the group dancing.. The area was so well lit, lots of security, the entire building and the place next door was buzzing, It didn't even feel like we weren't even in Durban, it felt like we were overseas.
The food we ordered was good but I felt like perhaps there should be some simple, go-to items..
Those that were drinking also really enjoyed the craft beer..
Overall, good experience and will definitely be back.

Fantastic food, great service and delicious beers.
Had the Durban burger and the Stout. Both near perfect. Burger patty was a little dry for me, but perfect flavour. Will definitely come back and highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner while in Durban. The look and feel is really modern and industrial and the restaurant is an extension of the brewery which give a cool authentic feel. The food was so so good. We had things from the small plates section like chicken livers, calamari and the chicken wings. Everything was delicious and we had an amazing time. Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back when we're in town again.
First time I came here was by mistake actually heading to buy clothes at Tempracha Apparel saw that there was some weird ass tanks in there and a bar decided to walk in and my life changed Wow! 🔥🔥🔥
Amazingly brewed craft beer and the service is friendly and efficient, eclectic vibe.
I came back here to take out my baby brother and sister and the food was spot on everything tasted amazing and the waitress was well educated about the menu.

Decided to try this spot out for lunch with friends. While the area is still a little dodge looking from the outside it does remind me a bit of Joburg's Braamfontein vibe.
The brewery is on site and is basically an extension of the restaurant which is rather cool. So decor is industrial with a few eclectic touches here and there. The bar is nicely done.
While it was kind of busy for lunch I do think it's perhaps more of an evening spot.
Service was friendly and efficient. Food was better than expected, finally got to try chicken and waffles which was a winner.
Overall a nice chilled spot for drinks and a laid back meal.
First time visiting Spiga, everyone that lives in Durban raves about how good the food is here, and they did not disappoint. The pastas were on point, very tasty and cooked to perfection. Large portions for the price. Definitely recommend the place if you visiting Durban. There is also a nice park across the road with a mini zoo and lovely gardens to walk around after the meal.
Service was amazing. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, so when I told her what I wanted she combined 2 dishes to make me exactly what I wanted. It came out divine. Hubby also loved his food. Atmosphere was good but started getting cold.. which didn't last long because they turned on the heaters and it became comfortable in no time. Will definitely be going there again. Cheers to the Spiga team.

Popped in for a quick takeaway and was promptly assisted. Both food and service was really good and really enjoyed the vibe of the outdoor deck whilst waiting for my order. I look forward to returning for a sit down experience.

I visited Spiga on a random Friday night after having driven down to Durban from Johannesburg. We were staying in Musgrave and had no idea where to go for dinner. My brother recommended this place and it didn't disappoint especially after a 6 hour drive.
I don't know if it ever gets cold in Durban but the breeze on the night wasn't a factor because this inviting restaurant has indoor and outdoor heating. There was a family next to our table wearing shorts in June. So you'll probably be fine if your underdressed.
To eat we went for the Spicy Salami Pizza and my partner had the Penne Romana. The pizza was good but the pasta really made me give this place five stars. The Romana sauce paired with well cooked and seasoned penne and mushrooms will make any date night a memorable experience. I don't usually order pasta when I am out because most of the time I feel like I could have done it better at home. But Spiga's pasta is well worth it.
The service was friendly and also helpful when I didn't know what wine to have. The house red is well worth it if you just want something to go with the meal.
My only criticism is that they didn't have locally produced sparkling water. I am not that big on san pellegrino water because restaurants just charge a fortune for it.
Total spend for two was under R500 with a take away tiramisu and the two glasses of wine so good value for money. Spiga you win my vote.
This is such a great place for a relaxed dinner date or for those work team buildings.
We had a blast. Our waitress Faith was amazing and made us laugh any chance she got. She recommended good drinks and food. She is definitely a star🌟.
The only issue would be that the restaurant is in high demand and unfortunately it not big enough to fit all patrons looking to buy. So, I guess y'all have to get here early
Service was quick. Waiters and waitresses were nice and friendly. Only that our original waiter disappeared. We waited for a bit of time wthout anyone coming to us. We had to call another lady to wait on us. But otherwise everything else was good.

Best Italian place in Durbz.
Go check. Excellent cuisine. Every product is fresh. The staff is lovely and they know how to make you feel in Italy.

Awesome, Awesome experience! It was my first at Spiga, and I must say, it was an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food was scrumptious. I Reserved a table the day before and got a really nice spot. I do think the portion sizes could be bigger though, other than that, definitely coming back. Shoutout to Busi, our waiter 🙌
