Review Kauai - Constantia

Absolutely enjoyed my time here. It was a week day so the atmosphere was very calm. The staff welcomed us with such warm smiles. The restaurant is very clean and cousy. Compliments to the chef because oh my soul the food was so delicious and well prepared and presented. Although it is in a fairly busy old village, once inside you forget about it. Thank you for the wonderful service 👌🏽

Came here for a work dinner. The staff were very helpful and our waiter was professional. We ordered a lot of food and even with the big order our food came out quite fast. The food itself was cooked to perfection. Good atmosphere too.

This was a great experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, the food was excellent and the service, superb. They have a secret to attracting customers to themselves, rather than to the restaurant down the way, but this secret may never be shared... A lovely, comfortable atmosphere on upholstered seats afforded us a much deserved rest after our Table mountain hike. We'll definitely be returning to Cattle Baron, Constantia, in the near future. Thanks to the manager and staff!

Our party had specific needs as we had a member with special needs. From the booking to the service they could not be more accommodating. Despite a very full restaurant the food came very quickly. Quality, as always, was superb. I cannot praise this place enough. Thank you so much for giving us such a pleasant evening.

We always enjoy their sirloin steak, alway cooked to perfection. The last time we were there it was load shedding so the vegetables were not as hot as I would have liked. It's great because they don't charge corkage

The food here is always a winner. I usually order for take out but today decided to dine in. The service was a little slow to start but picked up quite well and our server was friendly. The wine selection is also excellent. I always opt for any kind of steak but the beef ribs are great, too. I had the beef escargot and it was perfection. My friend tried the pork belly and she enjoyed it but said the skin was a bit too crispy for her liking. Portion sizes are large so great for a hearty meal on a cold day.

VERY nice food, also good for kids and adults as some stuff is as simple as a burger or as fancy as escargot. Cattle baron never disappoints for a good meal and is my personal go to if I have no plans for food personally a 5/5

If you want a great steak, amazing service in a wonderful setting - then this is a must visit The staff are unbelievably friendly and efficient. The food was amazing - nothing beats a good steak No bourbon on the menu but a wide range of whisky land other offerings to fill the gap

Very good, really enjoyed this outing. Buffalo wings were very good, the best I have had for a while. Many steak options to pick from, catering for every taste. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Just make sure you ask fir a hot plate, otherwise hot food comes out on a cold plate! Otherwise, it's a great place to eat.

Unlike many Franchise holders, Cattle Baron Constantia is definitely in tune with its surroundings. The restaurant is warm and inviting with a super little bar making it stand out above the rest. It’s a franchise steakhouse so one cannot expect 5 star food but what they serve is good and the steaks are excellent and very well priced. Their sauces sadly, are somewhat disappointing but the fact that they don’t charge corkage is added value. The service too was excellent with hands on management which helps to make a difference.

The best Cattle Baron in the country. Beautiful restaurant with the right mix of elegance and contemporary, the food is Delicious and their service. Impeccable and attentive service. Try their pork short ribs - the meat falls off the bone or their generous portion of tender and juicy lamb loin chops. Their steaks are delicious too. On a Friday night the atmosphere is hard to beat but don't forget to book a table beforehand because it is likely to be fully booked!

I had arranged & pre ordered the Starter Platter with the fabulous & approachable Front of House, Denver - from there the evening flowed. Denver and the excellent service of our waitron Desire ensured smooth transition between courses, prompt in clearing & ever ready to serve. THANK YOU

I used the Yanmei Traditional Chinese & Thai massage today. Was absolutely amateurish. the massage was terrible and the staff member was so untrained for the massage. Then the manager or owner ripped us off so badly. Con artist of note. Will never use them again.

The shopping experiences in constantia pick n pay and the woolies in the same centre are WORLDS apart... the staff in woolies are super friendly and helpful AND polite... whereas the COMPLETE opposite prevails in pick and pay... come ON pick and pay... pick up your game !!

love the Centre but any reason why no signage in the bathrooms about water conservation? Perhaps following suit like hotels and recommending flush options? I think now the water crisis is reaching critical levels, saving every drop is perhaps more important than saving paper towel. Your toilets don't even have a half flush option �

Its a popular central shopping centre with plenty of coffee shops delis and other essential eateries including The Mug & Bean The Cattle Barron an Indian as well as an Italian restaurant. Great shops a liquor store and a large petrol station make this place an essential local stop off for Constantia and environs.

Relaxed, layed back with charm.... A little node with some coffee shops , eateries and a few other lifestyle outlets....

Always shopped their as a kid with my mom. Now I shop with my family.

The Constantia Village is a fine shopping center. BUT they should not allow unserious shops like LARISSIMA to do business there. I bought an expensive jacket in the Larissima store. But I only got a handwritten receipt which would be no good for tax refund. I asked them for a proper receipt, but they claimed that they were not tax registered and would not/could not issue a normal and official receipt! I did not expect such an experience in an otherwise exclusive shopping center. Really disappointing and bad service at Larissima!

I took to visually impaired people to the centre today and the security company contracted by them wanted to remove them from the premises due to a guide dog.The quard had the audacity to comment we must report him he does not care.

Village is well but Manager Spar abd his workers were once rude to me and i even reported the and they promise to come back to me with in a week and that was last year and im sti waiting for them to come back to me.

Conveniently located in the village. Unfortunately the food prices here have increased but when in the area I like to stop by for a smoothie. They have a good selection and the ones I've tried were fruity and fresh.

This is the most convenient Kauai for me as I usually do my grocery shopping at the village so will grab something on the go. I usually stick to my favourite smoothies, but the menu has once again been updated so decided to try one of the new ones. The Wholefood Blush looked interesting with the unusual combination of carrot and strawberries, but it was surprisingly delicious with the hint of flavours with each sip.

Friendly staff, excellent food! <br/><br/>I frequent Kauai stores a lot and had one of the best meals to date at the Constantia Village Kauai. <br/><br/>Two thumbs up!

Never had to wait so long for a smoothie at a Kauai! Was not terribly impressed. Hopefully this was just a once off and it will be better in the future. The mango smoothie itself was consistent in taste with other branches.

Peanut butter bomb was good and they got the ratios right on the Cinnabomb, but they were very very slow to make the smoothies. <br/><br/>Staff was friendly but didn't make up for their service.

Honestly the most watery Tropical Greens Smoothie I've had. It had no taste of pineapple but a solid punch of ginger. Not great. The Old Caeser Wrap had a sufficient amount of chicken and croutons and was nicely dressed in the lemon dressing. Service is also terribly slow.

I don't like what Kauai has done with their new look-and-feel. Outlets feel cold and insanely hostile. Menu also feels very limited now. <br/><br/>My breakfast was pretty decent. Scrambled eggs were perfect, toast was crunchy and breakfast coffee was good. <br/><br/>Kitchen staff are just terribly slow if you arrive for breakfast before 10am! .. Not sure why. Two people at the counter simply left before their smoothies arrived. Another lady was border-line hysterical, because she had been waiting 25 minutes for her orange juice. Seemed like poor management. Staff didn't have an excuse either .. I was the only person seated at a table.

I tend to stay away from Kauai these days as the prices seemed to have sky-rocketed over the last year or so. A wrap that initially cost me R30 is now R70. Very sad indeed but i still go for the smoothies which are always great.

The last time I went to Kauai at Constantia Village they served up two smoothies to people who ordered after me (I ordered one). The vitality service also wasn't working. When my husband went earlier in the week at 08:30 which is what time the website says they open, they said no they only open at 09:00. Zomato times say that they should be open until 7pm tonight but when we got there before 6pm the place was completely shut. Utterly disappointing. I took a photo of the times advertised on the store window. Although I'm not sure they keep to these times anyway. I hope It helps others not to have the same frustrating experience we have had.

Now that Kauai is in partnership with discovery Vitality I can get my weekly smoothie fix just for achieving my fitness goals. Had the mango coco smoothie which I found refreshing and slightly tart but very enjoyable. Payment was easy- they just scanned my vitality rewards barcode and viola, left in no time with my takeaway.

The staff were really friendly, they even reminded me to use my smoothie card and told me all about the Kauai App and how it would benefit me! The food is always great, especially when I'm on the move!

Delicious new menu! I tried the coconut smoothie before shopping for the month. Great, fast service and perfect for a quick morning snack! It's one of their halaal stores, I would highly recommend the mango coco smoothie when visiting.

Today I received rather poor service at this branch. I'm sure it's not always that way but having someone mop by your feet while you're seated seems to send the signal 'please get out of here'. Granted it was an hour before they closed. The chai latte was yummy and the Mediterranean wrap was too. The portion size for the wrap seemed smaller than I recall. A convenient place to stop before grocery shopping. As they say, never shop on an empty stomach!

This is definitely the best Kauai I know of! I've been to the Claremont one (in Virgin active) and other branches in Johannesburg, but this one has the nicest ladies behind the counter! They're also super quick with orders, and the food is good ! That is, for Kauai standards. At the end of the day, one has to be realistic - Kauai is a 'healthy' establishment. They're never gonna match the Butter chicken from Bihari, it's just not going to happen. But what they do well, is to make do with the menu they have! <br/><br/>So if looking for a healthy meal and quick service you can look no further!:) also, their smoothies are the yummiest (on that note: don't try Claremont Virgin active smoothies - they are baaaaad).<br/>

By far, the most guilt-free take-out!!! It's quick, healthy and refreshing! Perfect on the way to work, during work or after work for dinner! #saynotomcdonalds!

A great Kauai franchise in the middle of Constantia Village, right outside Pick n Pay. There's enough comfortable seating to grab a quick bite, check emails on the WiFi, etc.
