The ribs were so soft and fell right off the bone. Drinks were affordable and so refreshing. Will definitely go back again.
Pirates never disappoints! Everytime I go, my steak is perfect medium rare the way I like it. I usually order their Aunty Millies Fillet which is to die for. So happy to have a great steak house close to home! Lovely atmosphere suitable for families
I haven't been here in a while and coming back after such a long time... It hasn't changed. The food, the vibe and the staff are all the same. It's just great. Great to visit with family and friends.
I know most people will have look online and assume this place is a dungeon and would steer clear from this spot. Looks can be deceiving thou. Personally I would recommend they redo their website pictures because it’s not really well presented online. Anyway back to my review. I would definitely rate this establishment a hidden gem. The decor and ambiance is beautiful and the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. They serve the most hearty portions of food but the stunner has to lie in the pure quality of the food. My recommendation would be their steaks and ribs. One of the best steaks in the south. My family and I truly enjoyed our relaxed lunch and will certainly be back again!
First of all this place is awesome!! I enjoy the vibe and friendly people that comes here. We first started our night off with some drinks at the bar; where we were served by a friendly barman, we decided to have a meal so we moved to the restaurant and we were kindly seated by Kathryn our waiter who kindly took our food order and served us a beautiful meal :I had a rump served rare with chips and my fiancé Had a small platter of chicken bites and rump bites served with two appropriate sauces and a well presented side salad. Overall the food was good at a reasonable price and we will definitely be returning !
Wow!!!! The best steak Ive had in years! Generous portion of steak. Tasty, perfectly done. Price is not unreasonable, unlike the rest of Cape Town. The seating is a bit cramped though. The place is unpretentious and suited for down to earth folk, it has a party vibe with live music so it makes a good night out with friends.
The food at Pirates seldom disappoints. The venue is...eclectic and dated, but this only adds to the experience. The steak is yummy and the ribs are mouth watering!
All I have to say about this place is Try Aunty Millie’s Steak.. Really good steaks and generous portions. They open till late as well so it’s a good after party pit stop. They have been around for years and yet their food still tastes the same! Can never go wrong with a Good Pirates Steak!!
The place to come to for good pub food in the early hours of any given day. Had a bacon and feta pizza...wow...was impressed. The pizza base was crispy and thick enough for a thin crust. It was a well-topped pizza, they definitely were not shy about adding the ingredients. At the time when the order was made, the atmosphere was abuzz. This seems to be the place to be.
Great evening out. Been wanting to try this place out for a while now and finally got the chance with some work mates. The food was really grand and the live music entertainment was really top notch.
I've been coming to cape town ever since I was a kid. One of my most fond memories coming to Cape Town were eating ribs in pirates. In the many times I've visited Cape Town since I have always visited pirates at least once and had the 700 gram ribs.
Every time I go I fear that it will not be as good as I remember it and yet every time I'm amazed by the best ribs I've ever had. A huge bonus are the low very reasonable prices which I believe are under priced for what you get. It might not be the fanciest place and not in the best part of town but if you truly want to have the best ribs that you will ever have I recommend you visit pirates.
Great experience, just confusing where too enter as there's a bar enterance as well.
The live entertainment was entertain on Monday evenings.
They also have a massive menue, definitely recommend the steaks, were cooked too perfection!!!

This is an irregular haunt of mine as I only go there when I'm in the area. Pirates Steakhouse first caught my attention because of the Art Deco building it is in. Art Deco architecture is my passion. My visit on Tuesday was pleasant. Good service, good food, and a quiet atmosphere, not too hectic.
Always an absolute pleasure dining at Pirate's Steakhouse! Great food, great service and great music.

What an incredible first experience for me.
Have heard so much about The Pirates ☠ Restaurant and was not disappointed or let down in any way. Nest burgers in town. The chicken from the chicken salad was flame grilled with a delicious basting sauce.
The manager was friendly, waitress was very helpful, food was quick, vegetables was fresh and the priced well. Will definitely be coming back again.
I have found my new favorite restaurant.
Since Friday nights also offer live music shows.
Keep up the great service and don't change a thing!
The staff are amazing 👏🏾! I've only been there twice but I had a great experience on each occasion. The food is really good and the portions are great. The bartenders are awesome, too.
My friends and I are over the age of 40 and we love going to Pirates to dance the night away, especially from midnight onwards. A lovely atmosphere... a mix of ages, thankfully, and diversities and a pretty cool crowd. We also love that it's in the burbs so we don't have to spend too much money on an Uber.

This is just one of those feel good places I used to go to when I was younger and still enjoy it. My recent visit was as I expected, great food and company, also the waitress was super helpful and the manager, was so accomodating, she did everything In her control to make us feel at home.
The food is so worth every last penny. Never disappointed on food quality and portion size. Great place to eat,having a drink. Service staff like waiters are always supportive. It's the door bouncers that actually made me stop going. They have a very negative approach to patrons. I understand the need for security but it should still be done in a welcoming way that's warm and inviting. It just comes across as if you are entering as a criminal versus a patron. Further more the food makes up for that.
