Dit was baie lekker en intreressant gewees, veral die geskiedenis van die plekkie.
I've been visiting the cafe nearly daily during my stay in Cape Town. Love the atmosphere ... Love the food! Hot chocolate warmed my soul one cold day & the Brie, bacon & fig pizza is a favorite. Need comfort? Try the chicken pie. Yum! Thanks for being my little home office away from home. <3
The Blue Cafe’s chicken pie came highly recommended and - as a take-away - did not disappoint at all. We’ll definitely be back for another helping.
My friend had the bacon, green fig and brie pizza, since I don't eat meat I had a bite of the side - even that was mouthwateringly delicious!
Very very cute deli/cafe! Interesting trinkets, from gorgeous crockery to droëwors that's been voted the best by some Afrikaans council.
I had the lentil and butternut bobotie. Definitely very yummy, but would've liked it to be served with a grain, like rice or quinoa, on the side
There's this hidden little section with extra seats in the basement. Looks very cosy which could be the perfect hideout on a cold day.
This place oozes what Tamboerskloof is all about. It's surprisingly obscure, since it's almost tucked away in broad daylight. It's a very small and quaint cafe and you can even buy some fresh items such as bread, milk and eggs. The mood is laid back like brunches or lazy afternoon lunches should be. Food is clean and simple. With refreshing combos I haven't seen around. Will definitely return!
This morning I'm at The Blue Cafe - it's such a tiny little spot in the heights of Tamboorskloof. When I say tiny I'm talking like that have one table inside and few extra tables along the sidewalk. I was lucky enough to find a secluded nook behind a spekboom screen and it has the best view of lions head and gorgeous Victorian homes that line the streets.
I needed a sweet pick me up and some decent coffee so cake was in order. They only had a baked ricotta cheesecake today so I ordered that and my standard cappuccino. The coffee and cake came together on very brightly colored plates which I thought was a really nice touch.
My coffee didn't have any micro foam on top and stirring immediately broken up what foam there was there. The coffee blend isn't to my fancy but it's strong and not burnt. The cheesecake immediately makes me think of the chemical I used to work with in varsity O-Vanillin anybody that has worked with it immediately identifies that sweet vanilla scent but there is just something very strongly artificial about it at the same time. For this reason alone I didn't enjoy the cake.
I like that small shop inside offers bespoke handcrafted items and curated deli meats, olive oil and sweet things.
Such a cute and cosy restaurant! Had one of the best cappuchinos there and the pizza's was delicious! I will def bw back again! Loved the vibe.
The Blue Café is a local coffeeshop which is just 2 streets away from my home.
As 'n huge coffee lover, they really have a nice cup when you need it most and their butter cakes are totally amazing!
They also have the necessities when you don't want to go into town.
Truly a hidden gem!
They only have a few tables, but for colder months there is a cute basement as well.
Blue Cafe is my favourite neighbourhood, go-to spot. Super chilled, great relaxing vibe and good food. My favourite is the Refreshing Breakfast and ALL of the pizza's (from 5pm only). Fantastic thin and crispy base! They are open until 10pm as well, so great for birthday dinners in the bottom part of the restaurant. Nothing fancy - good, wholesome food and great service to be expected.
This sidewalk cafe puts visions of Europe to shame. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, it's the spot for a lazy conversation over a glass of wine or a nibble. The main meals can be disappointing, but the ambience and the peanutbutter biscuits make up for this. Good service and the blue hues make it a calming space
This neighborhood coffee hub is friendly and warm. It is a small spot in Tamboerskloof that offers all you need in close proximity to your home. You can buy the basic groceries, have a great coffee, a snack, breaki, some cake or a light meal. Their coffee is really good and so is their food. I'm a huge fan of their banting risks- probably the best of their kind. I enjoy their homely feel. I love their cute quotes displayed on the plates and around the restaurant.
It is a bit small and often difficult to find seats. Staff also seem a bit overwhelmed when the store is busy.
But I'd definitely recommend this spot!
A quick turnaround time cafe because it's size. But nonetheless quaint, cute, local and loved by the neighbourhood. Feels like you're sitting on a sidewalk in Europa. Coffee and croissants were amazing, the atmosphere was relaxing and the staff was friendly. Perfect way to start the day.
Sometimes you find hidden gems in a neighborhood. This is one of them. As a tourist it’s not easy to find good spots but this is one of them. Hidden in a really nice street where are the locals come and enjoy their food. I would go here every single time.
One thing; I know you have your breakfast fresh, honest and good. But presenting food in a plastic cup is not what I would do. It tasted wonderful but it let go the charmes of freshness.
But a big 5 star rating. It’s really nice to eat here
This has to be my favorite place in Cape Town!
Great Coffee, homemade food and spectacular cakes.
Special thanks to Adrian, the friendliest, most courteous and funniest waiter I have ever met.
Long live the King!
The Blue Café is a great café. The food is well presented and tastes delicious. Our Waiter was knowledgeable on the menu and friendly. The prices are relatively good for the great food you are getting. Blue Cafe is a great Neighbourhood Café with comfortable seating indoor and outdoor and a nice homey feel. I would recommend coming for a nice quiet lunch here on a Sunny day. :)
A cute little cafe! Lovely to sit on the street in the sun surrounded by beautiful houses.
Great coffee, great food menu!!
It's a lovely and quiet little cafe on the slopes of Lions Head, with lovely Victorian row houses across the street. A favourite of locals and tourists (it seemed), but the service and coffee were pretty good. If you're looking for something off the beaten path but not too far from the busier Kloof Street haunts, this is a nice option.
Lovely and quirky little gem. Beautiful views and tasty food.
What a delightful place! We were looking for a new place to spend quiet time in conversation, somewhere different and with ambiance, and The Blue Cafe exceeded those expectations. Quirky, charming, warm - it was so lovely and I am so pleased to have found it!
Absolutely magic place for Food, Drinks and awesomoness with views Lions Head. Great menu, fantastics staff and just a great atmosphere.
Especially Waiter Adrian is a legend. He is super alert, friendly and Shows a mood and working-attitude, that is outstanding. The Kitchen-Staff performs extremly well and the coffee is one of Cape Towns best. Always a highlight sitting there on Brownlow Road.
One more time: our favourite restaurant for us in CPT!
