Wonderful atmosphere! Amazing staff who were very friendly and helpful. Food and coffee were great! Wide range of vegan options. Great place to socialize or to work. They have wifi.

A treasure chest, filled with every wonderful treat worthy of a cheat day. Yummy, tasty, fresh , wholesome, halaal, also vegan goodies, great foodie gifts. As we sat down early after 830 am on a Saturday morning, we watched as trays of showstopper goodness was packed on display, it wouldn't last long as the place was starting to get really busy. They do takeaways, Uber Eats as well. Take card payments also. The croissants look ready to go on the catwalk. Croissants with bling. Love it. Had a salmon bagel, taste explosion. Chai with almond milk upsize is a must. Star of the show was a cupcake styled peach tea croissant, it had a surprise inside. Yum yum yum. We will be back most Definately. Job well done because the service rocks. Awesome experience not to be missed.

Vegan breakfast deluxe! This was by far the best vegan breakfast we've ever had in Cape Town! The location is very nice and I love the little outdoor space! Gonna be back very soon.

Beautiful use of interior. Decor and ambience is right on par with the trendy lower Observatory/ Obs vibe. Staff are nice, bagels are equally nice. Good selection of fillings. They have a R50 coffee and selected bagel on offer everyday. Cream cheese, cashew nut cheese and a caprese bagels are the ones that qualify for the R50, we really wanted a classic salmon and cream cheese bagel instead and paid the regular price. But if you can do without salmon then the R50 deal is a winner. Great place. Lovely toasted bagels

Light and fluffy pastries. Cakes packed with flavor and quality ingredients. Pride has been taken in each creation that comes out of the bakery. Fresh bagels made daily. Specials between 07:30-12 am are great value for money. This is a gem.

Had the pesto chicken bagel was very tasty. The chai latte was flavourful. Also had the croissant with peaches cream very tasty. Friendly staff and wonderful experience.

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Dolce Bakery. Their meals are oh so scrumptious. The menu caters for an extensive variety and various options are Vegan too, just enquire at the counter. Their dessert and cake treats are super tasty, look divine and are extremely well priced. They have options to buy whole cakes on pre-order too. I mean, a delicious whole cheesecake from R450! A perfect pickup and go treat for a special occasion. Oh, and if it's your birthday on the day, just show your ID and you get to choose a treat on the house. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They have daily specials that are absolutely worth it, a fresh cuppa hot coffee + a cream cheese and cashew bagel for R50, no jokes. Their smoothies are fresh and tasty too....and I've saved the absolute best for last, they are halaal certified! Boom! Game changer! Will definitely be back.

Highly recommend this cute cafe. Amazing food. Great service. Only thing I need to mention is the wonky cutlery. Both myself and husband were unable to cut through the food. The cutlery was literally bending. We asked for a new set of cutlery but this didn't make a difference, so we just ate with our hands which was perfectly fine too. But I would strongly suggest upgrading the cutlery. Will be back again for the great bagels!

Very cute little coffee shop. Cosy with the best cheesecake I've ever tasted! The food here is simply delicious and the drinks too. My chai latte was spot on. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe. Definitely one of the best coffee shops around

What a special find and super delicious breakfast

Honestly, my favorite place to grab a coffee in Obs. What makes Dolcé great? Good coffee/ milkshakes/ smoothies, awesome bagels and pastries, VEGAN OPTIONS, and the friendliest service all at affordable prices. There isn’t that much seating, but it’s amazing for when you need a quick pick-me-up. Another bonus? CHEESECAKE (not just the baked kind, but their resident cat).

Excellent bakery that I have used for many years and they have never failed to deliver. However, recently I’ve struggled with their sales/ customer service which I do hope improves drastically to make the experience of ordering a cake more seamless.

This place has always been one of my favourite spots and especially now that they have moved it's even better than before!! Keep up the great work guys!

Absolutely love this small haven. The service is great and an interesting selection of food choices. I ordered the steak bagels and vanilla shake, both items which I found to be most delightful and would definitely return to visit. Sad in my heart that I don't live nearby to keep returning, but will definitely do so whenever I have the time and in the area

By far the best - in service, food and ambience. A must-visit place for every student and tourist alike. I've been frequenting Dolce for over a year, and I've received nothing but the best. The best brownies in Capetown- I'm not even vegan, but the vegan brownies and vegan peanut butter pie are absolutely amazing!! Such a warm and cosy atmosphere. My favourite place to sit and study on the weekend

Absolutely love this place. They are now officially vegan friendly. The vegan chocolate cake was to die for and a selection of vegan sandwiches / wraps is available as well. Tge Olive garden sandwich was yummy and a healthy lunch! Dolce is great for breakfast and lunch on the go. Staff is super friendly and efficient. So what are you waiting for? Try it yourself

Finally made the trip last weekend and it was so worth it! We had the roast chicken with pesto bagels for breakfast and took home individual cheesecakes (divine) some carrot cupcake thingy (vegan, I suspect) and a chocolate cupcake thingy!! Yum!

I ordered a personalized vegan red velvet cake from Dolce for my boyfriend's birthday. Not only did they deliver the cake to my office, but they took the time to communicate with me over email to find exactly the right product. The cake was absolutely stunning and delicious as well! Even our non-vegan friends LOVED the cake. I highly recommend this bakery - delicious food, amazing staff, and punctual service.

My favourite vegan pizza in Cape Town (and also the most affordable!)--and as a pizza-obsessed vegan, you must know I've done my tasting. Staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is always chilled. I even saw a kitty-customer having a nap in the sun on one of the outside chairs once, and every time I come back I look for him! �����

I went there first time today as it was highly recommended by vegan society. It took more than one hour for drinks to arrive and then pizza followed. People came after me all ate and left. Staff were friendly but vegan pizza has little toppings and more expensive than meat counterpart and they also ran out of avo. I took two pastry home and they do look great (will provide feedback sometime). It was my birthday and also got one pastry free of charge. While I understood it was a Friday and owner went out for delivery. I guess I was unlucky this time and I do hope the experience can be improved when I visit again...

What can I say... Dolce is a vegan paradise and a welcoming place to all folk! Forever a die hard fan!

Absolutely love Dolce bakery, it's not always about what's to offer but about how you made to feel. The staff at dolce feels like family, warm and friendly. The menu is large and the staff are extremely friendly! I saw many pastries and couldn’t choose between the quiche or bagel - eventually I decided I wanted a breakfast so opted for eggs Florentine (not the usual Benedict which may have been my mistake!, the food was “nice” but the Ray was a bit hard... all it needed was some extra flavor but all in all a FANTASTIC student spot which is affordable and full of variety - they also give back to the homeless or those in need and have healthy options!!

Bought 'the decadent delux bake box' - 2 cupcakes, 2 cheesecakes, 2 lindt brownies and 4 dolce kisses. Soooooo tasty. Best individual cheesecakes I have ever tasted. Friendly staff.<br/>My order however wasn't on time.

A cute setup with amazing cakes and vegan, halaal, banting-friendly options making this a great place with great friendly service for any squad to park off for something deliciously sweet especially after exams. Savoury options are okay but not something worth going out of your way to get

Finding Halaal food on lower main is difficult, coming across Dolce was thus refreshing! I had their pizzas and was really pleased, with the fine crisp base and enough filling to get your taste buds salivating and you belly smiling.

Really great desserts and savory dishes. Great variety. Only issue was some walnut shell shards in the carrot cake. Hopefully just a once off!

From the outside I never thought of going there, but then overheard someone saying their stuff is really good. So having some time to kill I decided to go check it out. Mmmmmm.....super delicious looking pastries. So I had to of course see if it tasted as good. I ordered the peanut butter pie. WOW!!!! So smooth! I will come get a takeaway EVERY time I am in the area. The only negative is that it is really crammed inside and the outside seating area is not too great. But perfect for a takeaway (or 5).

Literally the nicest bakery in Observatory. Piece of advice, just get a takeaway. It gets really hot there so don't want to sit there. But definitely has he best treats. Best best best. Lovely waiters too.

A quaint, colourful spot with a casual cool vibe . As I work close by I've popped in a couple of times over the years , I enjoy their chicken foldover pizza which is tasty cheesy goodness and value for money. They can occasionally over bake the crust so be vigilant when ordering one of those. Another favourite is their yummy brownie cheesecake which are well priced and make a great birthday cake. Most recently I tried their salmon and cream cheese bagel for brunch on a sunny winter's saturday. The bagel was tasty, well filled and a fulfilling midmorning meal. Will definitely pop in again soon

Went here for a quick coffee date with a friend and I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem in Observatory!<br/><br/>The bakery itself is quite small and doesn't accommodate too many people, so I decided to sit outside. We were told to order and pay for our things inside and then we took it outside to eat - I'm not sure if there are any waitrons at this establishment or if that's usually how the ordering process works?<br/><br/>I ordered the gingerbread milkshake which was decently priced at R29. It was a no-frills, no-fuss milkshake but the taste was great. I was so eager to try the bar-one choc cake stack but I was told that they were sold out by the time I arrived (approximately 14h30). I did, however, order the vegan peanut butter pie. It was delicious! The base of the pie was a chocolate biscuit base and the pie was topped with dark chocolate... rich, but to-die-for. <br/><br/>What I love is that this bakery has a "pay it forward" initiative - for R10, you can fill out a post-it-note with your name and a message and paste it on the board, and for each person that donates, a muffin is taken to a children's home in Cape Town. How amazing?! ❤️<br/><br/>Although I didn't order any food, I've been told that they are certified halaal so I'm really keen to try out their pizzas and foldovers on the menu the next time I go there. I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favourite spots to get great cake in the future.

I used to like Dolce. They had good pastries and baked goods. But I went there recently and the quality is just not the same. If you want to buy bread I recommend them. But the other things they sell is not made on the premises and it isn't fresh or very good.

<br/>My husband and I decided to give the bakery a second chance yesterday . We ordered the melting moments pizzas ,steak and kidney pie, lindt brownies and a slice of carrot cake as a take away. The pizza was okay but we were pleasantly surprised by the pie. The filling was so tasty and the pastry flaky. Our sweet treats were also good , my husband loved the brownies. Thanks Dolce Bakery

My colleagues and I decided to try this place out for lunch today. I had a chicken foldover pizza, while they had a margherita, melting moments and prego chicken pizza. <br/><br/>While I was mainly happy with my foldover (it was really really tasty), everyone's main complaint was the base. It was extremely chewy and slightly burnt on some. My foldover was also very chewy and hard to bite or cut through. Also, margherita pizza could be made much nicer, maybe with a better cheese choice than cheddar. <br/><br/>Rating could be higher if the bases were better but I'll try it again and re-rate then.

If you are looking for a place to keep coming back to, this would be it. A little over a year ago I found this gem and had their famous breakfast special which includes any hot drink and a pastry. After having their delicious cappuccino and date & nut jumbo muffin, I was sold and I have been back everyday since.

This place is such a little gem on lower main road in Observatory. I've been driving past it every day and finally decided to stop in on Saturday (which is Bagel Saturday). We decided on the individual cakes: the granadilla cheesecake and double choc Nutella and hazelnut cake 🍰 It was more than enough for two people. And it definitely hit the spot. We also ordered their Chai Latte and Choccochino for takeaway drinks ☕️ Wow, they are so well priced and so friendly! Owner/manager came out to greet us. Super bakery. 🌟 Will be back for more treats! 🍩🍪

Quaint little bakery at the end of Obs main road. I'd been past it a few times and finally decided to try it out today. <br/><br/>I had their apple crumble (pictured below in the bottom left) which was quite dense and too sweet for my liking, but it was very well priced for the portion size.

I was looking for a place that makes personalized cup cakes and that's how I heard of Dolcé Bakery. The cupcakes came out almost exactly like the picture I sent. The cupcakes are made really well, however, I did find them a bit dense.

My friend had her 21st birthday and we went to Dolce Bakery for some celebratory cake. What a treat! Amazing cake! Great service! An absolutely wonderful experience. Thank you!!!

Another vegan-friendly offering a few feet away from our offices at the Centre for Environmental Rights, Dolce offers vegan bagels, crunchies, apple pie and pizzas (with nut cheese), and makes vegan chocolate cake to order. Had the salt bagel with cashew cream "cheese" and the apple pie, both yum! Very friendly service, lovely bakery smell and reasonable prices. Limited seating. Can't wait to try the vegan pizza - it is delish by all accounts!

The selection is just amazing, once you get the mouth watering yummy combos price very affordable. The staff ever smiling bringing all the requests in a timely manner. Myh favourite is the Strawberry Milkshake and Staek and avo sandwich to die for what more can I ask for. The special attention given to me is so amazing, I was really amazed.

This bakery is located along lower main rd and is a little past the hub of observatory restaurants. It is also one block further than Queen of Tarts so don't give up looking for it!<br/><br/>This is a small bakery that offers some seating inside and outside. The outside is covered under a tarp so it's still accessible even on rainy days :) the staff was extremely attentive and nice to my friend and I when we went in the other day. As soon as I stepped inside a lady approached us and asked if we needed any help. When I expressed that this was my first time she gave us a brief tour and allowed us time to pick. She recommended to us the Lindt Brownie. I bought it and LOVED it. It has a perfect texture with the frosting on top being a bit thicker but adding a nice crunch. The inside is less of a crumbly texture but I thoroughly enjoyed it. This brownie reminded me of a hard fudge brownie. I have yet to try the other desserts but if you're a chocolate lover like me, you won't regret it!

This little bakery is a little hidden gem and my <br/>go to bakery when not baking myself :) Fresh ,tasty,high quality and delicious. Friendly staff and affordable prices definitely a must visit there is something for everyone.My favourite is definitely their red velvet Swiss rolls.
