Woooow! The decor here is so cute! The rooftop bar is chilled and great for sun downers or a party. The bar bites are very tasty. Can't wait to try the other two levels of this place :)
An entirely enjoyable experience. Food was exceptional. The only downside was that selecting from the menu was a bit of a blindsighted activity but with a group of about five, nobody was disappointed with their order which is a sure good sign that everything on the menu is good Haha. If you're looking for more than just dinner and a bit of a food experience, at a very reasonable price, pay a visit.
I think one of best rooftop places in Cape Town. Decor beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The top is great for drinks with friends (does get crowded) Cocktails are good and strong. Restaurant is slight pricey but food tastes great
One of my favourite places to grab a drink in the evenings! They have great service and amazing cocktails - try their Porn Star Martini! The intimate space and unique decor creates a lovely ambiance for a night out.
I've never not had a fun time at this unsuspecting bad. When my mates told me we were having drinks at Tjing Tjing, I thought, "I can't imagine getting sufficiently rowdy in a Chinese restaurant." But when we ascended the illusively dimly lit stairs and emerged into a spacious and sophisticated loft-type rooftop bar I was blown away!
The view of the Cape Town city skyline will take your breath away.
We were there to enjoy their cocktails and enjoy them we did. I managed to drain my Old Fashioned, Asian Persuasion, Cucumber Cooler, Cosmopolitan and Classic Martini and still have room for more! Their mixologists are just that good at what they do.
If you enjoy a well-made cocktail and a view that really is a feast for your eyes, you'll make this inner-city hangout your regular spot
A hidden gem.
Great atmosphere and always a great place to begin your night when heading out into town. The music is just right and it attracts a vibrant crowd.
My favorite cocktail on the menu is the Jelly Baby Cocktail.
Love the vibe and atmosphere here !!!
The food is honestly so good and fresh,
So many amazing flavors!!!
Can't wait to go back
Great service delicious cocktails !!!
My go-to place on Thursday through to Saturday nights in terms of hitting the nightlife scene in Cape Town. The decor is very nice- dark but well lit with comfortable chairs and the outdoor benches offer pillows and blankets on cold nights.
Never gets too full where one can't move or breathe and the cocktails are too die for! They're definitely worth the price and it's lovely watching the Baristas making them.
Good music. Loud but not pumping loud that you're unable to think clearly. Definitely good for drinks out with friends if you're not looking for a club or anything remotely close to it.

Delicious finger food, perfect Asian inspired accompaniments to cocktails. The tender, sweet pork belly skewers and fried sushi rice squares are definitely my favorite. The cocktails were quite sweet and fruit, would recommend the Sake Sour. The kitchen closes at about 22h30 which is early given its business hours. More lighting is needed, but overall an above average experience!
A lovely and quirky venue. Nice prices and gorgeous layout of food. Don't drink too much as you have to tackle some crazy stairs on the way out ;)
Wonderful experience. Waiters were very helpful with the menu options and her recommendations were spot on. Great vibe inside, is small so can imagine if they are full it might be a bit tight. The service was fast. We ordered a variety of items and all shared which I would recommend. High light was the ribs, rice balls and the fries. Portions are a bit small for the price but considering it's unique foods "Japanese" inspired we didn't mind the cost.
Amazing food, warm and cozy atmosphere and very kind and accommodating staff. 100% recommend their food, especially their crispy rice balls, steamed buns and dumplings.
Super cool drinks and fun appetizers. The Mochi donuts were the best Mochi donuts ever.

An absolute fave in Cape Town! The vibe is chilled and cool. The service is brilliant: fast and friendly. We enjoyed the food and drink options on the menu. The food was fresh and the drinks were refreshing. Only downside was the location isn’t the nicest on the outside.
Edit: about a year later, also ended up at the rooftop bar for early evening drinks. Very dependable location, views and vibe that’s been around for years and doesn’t disappoint. Seemed a bit quieter upstairs than I remember it but 🤷♂️
Went to the Torii bar downstairs. Really good Japanese food, not impeccable throughout but honestly some of the best you’ll get in Cape Town. Ambiance and decor is fantastic and the range of dishes is also good. Will come back.
A really delightful Japanese tasting menu at this really well decorated venue in the cbd. I got to have a traditional kaiseki style tasting paired menu at the Momiji.
Every dish that I had I enjoyed and it took me back to time spent in japan tasting food like this. Attention to detail and amazingly balanced plates of food. All authentically flavoured, using the best ingredients. I appreciated that each plate was served with a menu card describing the dish we were sampling.
Our server was great too with her explanations and with warm interaction. A truly enjoyable experience.
I will definitely be going back to try the ramen bar as well, it looked really good too.
Great place to go for a modern Japanese dining experience. The cocktails are tasty and their food is well-made.
My friends and I ordered some small plates to share. The Cucumber salad was pretty refreshing and flavourful, just wished the portion was larger for the price. The fried rice balls were pretty bland but went well with the aubergine dish which was tangy and addictive. The mochi balls were very sweet and sticky, give it a try if you're into really sweet desserts.
Really nice rooftop bar in the CBD area. Nice variety of cocktails and lots of vegetarian food options along with the more usual Japanese cuisine. Everything tasted great!
We went on the last First Thursday of the year and it was really dope. It got packed pretty quickly but we still had a good time. Their drinks are really delicious and the general atmosphere is awesome. Very aesthetically pleasing as well.
After going a few times for drinks I finally made it for dinner.
I was so impressed. The menu is larger and diverse but everything we ordered was great.
I had 3 cocktails as well. Each of them was interesting, well though out and perfectly balanced.
Definitely a favorite of mine.
