Very lively on Saturday night. We went for a few beers and food with friends but the prices of the beers aren't on the menu. But I suppose if you're going for a beer you don't really mind paying a lot. Great experience, live music was entertaining
What an awesome vibe!!! The food was typical pub food but portion size is good and very tasty. The live band was awesome. Very reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Was a great night. Will definitely go back.
With some of the best live entertainment, Ferryman's is a great place at the V&A and more afforable. It surely has it's inconsistencies regarding meals but on a good day, You'll have some of the best seafood around. PS. The hake & calamari combo is always a winner
Visited Ferrymans just before leaving for JHB and was served by Vusi..now that young man knows Customer service...next time I'm in Cape Town we definitely coming because of the service we recieved...
Ferryman's is one of those versatile places with many faces. Inside it feels like a harbour pub in 18th century England. On the outside it's more like a summer cafe.
We really enjoyed the warm evening with live music and refreshing draft beer, watching the hustle and bustle of the waterfront.
The burgers are satisfying in size and flavour.
Will definitely enjoy more of what's on offer in the future.
Came for birthday drinks. Surprised with the cocktails, which were sweet but better than I expected. The music was fun... Sometimes they have African singers or karaoke type singers 🎶 expect slow service and your grubby pub food and you've got a win 😉

Like always great vibe. We popped by to have a beer and quick meal. Manager was present with good serivce in general. Food was not wow but not bad as we shared the platter for 2.
Love this place so much! Great to have a few drinks and have a bite to eat while listening to the live band after 8pm. Great vibe and very friendly service! For drinks my dad ordered the mickey mouse beer which is a combination of i think all the beers combined which he enjoyed very much and even ordered another! For food i shared the platter for 2 which consisted of spring rolls, hake, calamari, wedges, chicken and beef strips and is definitely enough for 2 people, just dont expect 5 star dining as its typical pub type food. The others had a beef burger and chips which was also good. We Will definitely be back!!
Simple, good old fashioned pub menu and no frills at a not so simple location in the V&A Waterfront. Prices are at a slight premium for what you get but all you have to do is have a look at your surroundings to justify it and they are not shy with the portions.
Hake and calamari combo was great and the freshness of the fish was almost incomparable - I can believe their claim on the menu that "nobody sites it better". Should have opted for the calamari grilled though as it was a big too much with the deep fried batter. Chicken schnitzel with mash and sauce of your choice is a good too.
Just a lekker kuier jol. This is not one of your posh lanie restaurants in the V&A but rather a pub and grub style restaurant that's always packed and always consistent with good food and good value. Plenty of daily specials on offer and most beers on tap!
One of the few places which has Guinness on tap. Their Nachos are excellent. I often spend a lazy afternoon here with Guinness and Nachos. They have live performances starting at noon. It gets very busy during this time and service takes a hit. If you want outside seating during weekends best be at the place by 12 to avoid waiting. The Guinness on Tap is quite costly (R59) - but I would say worth it.
What a lovely experience 😀 this place was packed over the weekend 😀. They have a live band area where artists can sing while you enjoy something to drink and to eat. The vibe is amazing.
Nice pun with live music and in a safe area. The service is friendly and attentive too.
Only drinks took but they have very good variety and service with lovely place of waterfront
I had the shephards pie and it was my 1st time eating here. The wait was for a while but I understood the meals were freshly prepared. It was piping hot and so hearty. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed with a jazz singer in the corner and the business of the waterfront going on.
Loved it.
Ferryman's in the V&A Waterfront is one of those places that is always good and has really passed the test of time. If you are looking for a fun day out with some tasty beers, live music and enjoy some good food, then this is the place for you. They are very popular so I recommend you make a booking especially for larger groups. This is also a good option for warm or cold days as they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas, and the staff are friendly and helpful. As I mentioned, they frequently have live music over weekends which I love, but unfortunately when we visited the band's volume was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other and we ended up moving to a quieter spot inside the restaurant. I recommend the management look into this as the live music is nice but it was just way too loud. Apart from this, the rest of the experience was as good as usual and I am already planning my next trip back.
A great bar with large outside seating area. Service is good and they have a nice IPA, Margaritas (5/10). Had a sharing platter which was nice but the chips not entirely cooked.
Great pub for an evening of live music, sport and wide selection of drinks. Don't bother with the food though, lots of restaurants around for that. Service was very attentive and friendly too.
I ordered a chicken burger wish tastes really good but the chips wasn't done. I will say the onion rings is a good touch..
Great place to bring your wife if the relationship is dying and you have nothing to say to each other but need to show that you're still trying. The live music is super loud, so no possibility to talk to each other anyway
