Great service, very understated and friendly. I loved the food and presentation. A very full and satisfying meal.
Definitely worth a visit to try a new cuisine but I'm unsure Addis in Cape is a must visit if you are on a short visit to Cape Town. My boys who are finicking eaters (but how love using their hands to eat!) had no problem digging in. Food was tasty, although one of the beef dishes was still too spicy for most of us (the waiter said he could accommodate our tastebuds but the kitchen may not have gotten the message), and it was an overall fun experience. Only disappointment was the fried bread starter that comes with the set, as it wasn't fresh/crispy and the portion was very small.
A wonderful and hopefully authentic experience
A meal great for sharing with friends and enjoying casual company. Fun flavors to widen your palette. Although food is not very filling, it is more of a light meal and more so for the experience itself.
What a fantastic experience!! The atmosphere is so authentic, with friendly staff telling you stories about the Ethiopian traditions and experiences. We asked the waiter to bring is what he knows would be the best dishes and he did not disappoint! Oh yes, the coffee after dinner is a MUST!!
I loved it!!! Amazing vibe, beautiful location and service. One of my favourite in CT!! It is definitely my favourite african "authentic" restaurant. Makes you feel in Ethiopia.
We love discovering "new" places and cuisines and Addis was one of those golden finds (Thanks Entertainer!)
From the get go I was in awe of the decor, style and vibe. The umbrellas on the roof, the low seating and smell of spices accompanied by super friendly staff made our date night a lovely experience.
The menu offers an extensive education on Ethopian Food. Thorough explanations will make your mouth water even before you've placed your order. Our waiter, Patrick, was kind and answered all our questions. We settled on a Combo for 2 with 4 dinner options including a beef, lamb, chicken and vegetable dish served with rolls of rice flour Injera and ON a big sheet of Injera.
The vegetarian dish was by my far my favourite followed by the chicken. Delicious flavors of turmeric, cardamom and other spices with a kick of chilli for good messure. Portion sizes were great value and note that food is served shared which makes the experience even more interesting.
For dessert we shared a Baklava and hubby boasted it is the best he's ever had. And I tend to agree.
Thanks so much Addis for a fantastic Ethopian foodie experience. We will be back soon.
Great food, nice music downstairs, great deals and what I like to think is an authentic Ethiopian vibe - I've never been so I can't be sure. Everyone involved in running the restaurant was super attentive and friendly. I really liked getting to spend some time talking to the owner and getting to know her.
Great authentic Ethiopian cuisine, a unique dinning experience. Communal eating, great for family and groups of friends. ✨👌🏾 great range of flavours, it gives you a feel of African culture and it’s throughly filling 😀
It was a good experience trying out the Ethiopian cuisine. The place had Ethiopian feel with the seating arrangement and serving in the traditional style. Unknown of the names we decided to go for the set menu. We really like the 'Injera' it was something like an Indian Dosa. The cuisine has flavours and ingredients very similar to Indian Cuisines.
We throughly enjoyed our Dinner.
The staff is very Friendly and helpful.
A wonderful dining experience under dimly lit lights with a nice decor and a great ambience.
The staff is courteous and takes all the pain to explain in detail what the Ethiopian menu means.
The Ethiopian Injera was nice and soft and was very similar to the Indian Dosa or Chakuli pitha base. The Fish chicken and prawn were great with the flavours just the milder version of Indian cusine.
All together a great dining experience
