This place is such a special find. It is an amazing fish restaurant but also has something for everyone. I've been to Cape Town twice with my husband and we have been to the miller's thumb 4 times. The couple who run the place clearly are passionate about what they do. Such a friendly couple. Jane front of house so very welcoming nothing is too much trouble and Michael working hard in the kitchen producing the most amazing food. You definitely need to go here if your ever in Cape Town. You won't be disappointed! �
Visiting Miller's is always a wonderful experience! Jane and her team always go out of their way to make your experience as perfect as possible. The food is fresh and delicious, served within minutes. The table service is always on point and friendly, the vibe and atmosphere warm and cozy like a family home. We always have such a fantastic time here! Cannot believe it's such a well kept secret!
This is one of the greatest restaurants in Cape Town. The food is cooked and served perfectly. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the owners are so kind. The atmosphere is perfect for a special occasion. It's also a place where the owners clearly care about the happiness of both their staff and customers.
Miller's Thumb is my favorite restaurant in all the world. Solly and Jane are superb hosts and their staff are treated as family. Solly's dishes are legendary and the Cajum Rump with Algarve sauce would be my choice of last meal if given the ultimatum.
I never ordered the Jambalaya, but let me tell you- I was picking from my bosses plate! What an amazing meal. I am definitely coming back for a bowl just for myself! 😱

Ok wow, what a find, what a surprise. The quaint little place has homely feel type decor, the hostess was so informative, super friendly and welcoming. They have great variety particularly with fish. Excellent meal for lunch. Definitely will be back.
Great Find!! The food is great! Waiters are knowledgeable which makes easier to decide on a dish. Manager comes around your table to explain the dishes to and answer any questions you may have. We were a party of 4 and all chose different dishes - they were all flavourful and well presented.

WOW. Ok, so we were in Cape Town for our honeymoon and went to several restaurants including some fine dining as well and let me say… nothing won our heart as Millers Thumb did!! Sooo good, we would definitely come back!! Order the Morroccan Calamari as a starter, their Cajun steak, and to top it off GET THE CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE. Definitely the best pecan pie I’ve ever had in my life (and trust me, I’ve had many) SO SO GOOD!! 10/10

12 years since first going here and it is definitely the best place to enjoy fresh fish, and something a little different like chilli chocolate rump. We took 16 friends there the other night and they all raved about the food and service. Well done Jane and Solly! Keith & Nicci
Went at the last minute and managed to get a reservation luckily. This place is amazing. The best calamari I have ever had - hands down. Soft, melt in the mouth kind of stuff. The staff are attentive but not overbearing and the owner is totally hands on and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.

Spectacular seafood, you must visit when in Cape Town. I've never had a more delicious piece of fish in my life! Definitely get the Cajun seasoning.

A unique experience was had at this place. Felt somewhat homely. They have various ways of cooking your fish for you. The one thing that surprised me was the size of the food portion. The menu had us looking at a full sized fish but when the plate landed it was a tiny cut 😐. I went there hungry, so I'm glad I ordered calamari starters which was amazing in cajun style. Dessert was epic as well, recommend their chocolate sauce! The atmosphere was rather loud. People were drunk at the tables next to us, and screaming but that could be an isolated experience
WOW!! This is amazing, Food, Service, Friendly Staff!! Jane is exceptional at welcoming guests and describing the SPECIALS of the day, all curated to entice your palate. Heather is an excellent server with handy tips to guide you through your experience. Off the beaten path and well worth the trip! We will definitely be visiting again!!

Here we are five years later and the experience was as amazing as the first time I went there highly recommended what a wonderful dinner with my daughter and such person the waitresses and the husband-and-wife team that runs the show is unbelievable!
This is the cutest “Mom and Pap” bistro I’ve been to yet! The vibe at Miller’s is very quiet, yet lovely and warm. The staff is friendly, quick, attentive and the owners are also quite involved! They have a lovely array of specials that are told to you open arrival and a wide variety of wines that are on offer. I opted to order a number of tapas including the cajun fries, mussels and prawns (that came in a lovely tomato sauce). Overall the food was good and the fish was fresh! Unfortunately they didn’t have any cocktails on offer; the normal alcohol offering is quite good :) I would definitely recommend this for a nice family dinner or a cute date night. [They also give you the cutest ball of popcorn at the beginning of the meal - which is said to be the best in CPT 😂]
Miller’s Thumb is the kind of restaurant where you can return to, time and again, and never be disappointed. The owners are always there, the food is top notch and the service is personal, friendly and efficient. One of my favourite eateries in Cape Town. We have such a good time eating here, that I keep forgetting to take photos of the food. 😆😆
