Amazing food that not only presented well but was also delicious. I'm not a big dessert fan but the milktartspring rolls were my favourite -divine!
I really enjoyed the views here looking down at Long street. The service was good but one suggestion from one of my diners they can try and describe the dishes in a little more detail as they weren't too sure of the identity of the tapas dish. The dish itself was pretty good quality.
Great and very original tapas!
Everything was just amazing.
I would recomend the deep fried goat cheese and the Ostrich with sweet potato!
What a pleasant surprise! Hubby and I came here for an impromptu date and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered the special which was a tasting plate of five tapas, a glass of wine and a coffee. The tasting plate was average, however the dishes we ordered thereafter were phenomenal. Do try the kudu fillet, calamari, mussel risotto and the tiger prawns! Our waiter was really excellent and added to the wonderful experience we had!
A phenomenal evening. Always a pleasure to visit a establishment that puts so much effort into their meals. Tips: The goats cheese is literally from heaven... a must try! The tiger prawns are great (add a bit of salt if you, like us, like your seafood a little saltier). The dish that is their signature - the raviolini - is great, but subtle be sure to try get everything in one bite. The spoon menu is also a winner - the meatballs were amazing. The pork belly is a bit dry for my liking, but so well seasoned you don’t notice.
Cocktails could be improved - the martini wasn’t cold enough.
The owner clearly cares A LOT about customers and the service is impeccable. The staff are friendly and majorly efficient.
Really quite a gem of Cape Town!
Lunch at Fork today. Great place. Friendly and well trained staff.
Great variety of dishes, a treat for the taste buds. Definitly a place to return to.
Very nice vibe... tapas was nice, the pork belly and fillet on mushroom bruschetta was my favourite. Sticky toffee pudding was great. Long island iced tea was average... tasted like colddrink.
An absolutely stunning place. Situated further down on Long Street, away from all the noise. Beautiful set up. This place has very delicious tapas. Well priced too. Went for a friend’s farewell party and we had a beautiful time there. Definitely a place to check out. I would say mind the step when you go to the toilet😂
My tastebuds were in heaven during my visit to Fork for their food and wine pairing evening which takes place most Wednesdays during winter. I consider myself privileged to be amongst the few fortunate guests who enjoyed the spectacular food paired with Catherine Marshal wines. Every single morsel of heavenly delights that I devoured was truely spectacular and I feel privileged to have stumbled upon this gem only footsteps from home. I've heard about Fork many times and I'm kicking myself because I haven't tried this place before. But at the same time I'm glad I went this evening. The food is top notch and the staff are superb, from the waiting staff, the owner to the chef. What a mind-blowing culinary experience.
Fork is a favourite for delicious fine dining like tapas. Have been a few times and the food, service, ambience is always fantastic. Some favourites are the veggie curry, butternut and goats cheese rotolo, the calamari salad, pork belly or rillettes and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert is great - think rich dark chocolate. They recently had crocodile tacos on the menu which is interesting, I didn't try them but they looked cool.
You can share about 5 tapas between two people which will set you back about R200 each which isn't bad for the amazing tastiness and quality.
The wine list could use a revamp in my opinion, a lot of average wines, and not the best variety, they only have two chardonnays for example. They also don't do corkage, which I don't like especially because I couldn't really find anything in the menu I wanted.
Totally enjoyed the tapas here. Good variety of tapas options with specials on the chalk boards. Ordered 9 dishes including 2 from the Spoon menu and everything turned out to be super delicious! I especially liked the prawn, calamari and mushroom risotto tart dishes. Really flavourful and tasty. Service could be a little more attentive but overall decent. Restaurant has a relaxed vibe and I would definitely recommend Fork if you are looking for good food.
Very good experience with this place. I had dinner and it was fantastic in all aspects - service, ambiance and food. Good quality of tapas and good knowledge of waiting staff. Price is on the higher end, but worth the money. I went on a Monday evening at 6pm and it was rather calm. I recommend a try.
I live for 3 years around the corner and finally made it to FORK. What an experience. This is by far a great restaurant. Had the tuna, kudu, goat cheese and calamari tapas along with a great wine. Tapas range from 65R to 95R with a fork, which they tell you are 4 bites each. Every bite worth the money. Not a cheap place but a extraordinary one in Long Street. Service is good. Only improvement I would recommend is less staff problem talks at the bar as the space is small and guests might be interrupted. Luckily I was for early dinner at 5pm and the only table. Usually this place gets full, and well deserved with this great food.
We've drove past this restaurant so many time and finally got a chance to try it. Staffs are super welcoming. We initially thought the price was steep for pinchos - but the great flavour made up for everything. A bite of fried goat-cheese pinchos - mindblown! Every bite was a pleasure. We enjoyed all the other dishes we ordered. Two of us shared four dishes and were satisfied. Four tapas dishes, two glasses of wine, bottle of water and gratuity came up to be R500.
Will definitely be back for more!
Great wine and great food. Server was excellent and made ordering a breeze! We asked for his top 3 , which made him laugh and I understood by the end of the night. I think in total we ordered maybe 8 different food items and 2 different bottle of wine. Needless to say it was a great experience and would reccomend it to anyone.
Great tapas with a strong concept: food eaten with a fork, usually in 4 bites. Well worth a try.
Most reviews mention that this place is relatively expensive for the Cape Town downtown area; that’s true but I’d argue it’s worth it.
Visiting from London we found ourselves in need of a dinner option and the first two Google reviews I read were emphatically positive, they were right!
We were advised by our waiter that two dishes each as a couple would be sufficient to start with but I think we ended up having about 7 in total as we’re hungry guests. If we’d have had room we’d have had more!!
All of the food was delicious but the star of the show for us was the confit duck and waffle - a genius take on crispy duck pancakes!!
We booked last minute on a Monday night in Feb and the restaurant wasn’t busy, but from other reviews of wanting to go at a more popular time than us, booking ahead is advised.
Luxurious, amazing, touching the tastebuds like a wonderful experience! We ordered 10 (yes 10) dishes and all were excellent. A must stop!
Very sweet restaurant with classy English atmosphere, friendly staff and rich food. We had the lunch special and the 5 pcs of tapas were very good! Can recommend it to spend some time, have lunch, good wine and good coffee
The food is fantastic, as is the service. The owner (Ed) is a great English guy. You won't be disappointed with anything here. The only downside, if anything, it's a bit expensive (compared to other local African restaurants). But worth it!
Final tips: the tuna dish and the 'plankie' steak.
Very nice tapas! You can park at the street. Portion and choice are great! Will definitely go another time!
