Great lunch at Manny’s - had the platter that gives you a taste of all the specialities: peri peri chicken, chouriço, calamari and prawns - with chips and (special mention) milho. Milho is fried cubes of mielie meal pap - a bit like polenta but whiter. It’s so good! Chips were the real deal. We shared the platter for one, having intended a “light lunch” - well, it was so substantial that no supper was needed. Manny is friendly and welcoming and waitress, Renée, warm and professional offering great prompt service. We had a bottle of Portuguese vinho verde because of the style of food - and we’re familiar with most of the excellent local wines so it was nice to try an unknown. Will definitely make a point to “maak’n draai” when anywhere nearby.
When in Bot River you have to make sure you dine at Manny’s Kitchen. Wonderful food, fresh and very tasty. We met the owner Manny who was a pleasure to meet you sir and a delish experience with a good selection of wines. Portuguese food was prepared in a traditional style was made with love and I recommend the Prawns & Espetada. The milho frito is a must try and is so tasty. Muito Obrigado Manny!
What a spectacular gem.
We were stopped for a quick lunch and were blown away with the seafood platters.
Service was fantastic, food excellent and setting amazing.
Definitely will be returning with friends and family.
P.S make a booking. They are very popular even in the surrounding towns and we overheard the waitress taking bookings for late January.
