The décor is (still) depressing but the food is (very good) excellent. Service great. (One of) the best) The best food anywhere in the Hermanus to Caledon route. Portuguese menu, superb chicken. Rump 5+ stars. Essential (Worth) it on a weekly basis.
This place a MUST DO...best super king prawns I have ever had and got mine served with the all famous “miloh frito” which I adored...My friend had a sole...the largest I have seen, done just perfect with hand cut chips. A hidden gem in Botriver for sure...
Best experience always.! Prawns to die for. And that calamari! Espetada is on speed...
Tonight is rump and egg!
Manny is the best host and he knows how to do Portuguese. Never ever not amazing.
Great authentic Portuguese chow, and not a bad view either to watch the moon rise on a summers evening, highly recommended!
Best prawns ever!!! Awesome little gem. Loved it so much we went back the next night. The waiter, Rudolph, had loads of personality and made our dining experience a pleasure. He also made some good recommendations about what to eat. Quality of food was excellent. Little pan fried maize squared were awesome.
Well worth the visit, the food was superb and the service was as good. Manny went out of his way to ensure we had a superb day . We went for lunch and ended up spending the entire day there.
The best food ever and that goes for the complete menu keep it up brother.
The espatada and rib eye steak was delicious. Loved Rudolph besides the food he was the highlight of the evening. We will go again.

We are there last night and were so full from our coffee and cake in the afternoon, that could only manage a Calamari starter and Kingklip main. The service was good and the food arrived quickly. I would like to try their prawns next time.
Manny's is a must visit especially if you fancy seafood and espetada. Here you are served real food. My girls love the pizza's.
Best chicken piri piri I've had in a long time...and that includes many in Portugal. Well worth a visit and just a short distance from the N2.
Best kept secret in TWK. Mannys makes the most yummy food in Botriver. Portions huge ( for the farmers) taste sublime. Maitre de fantastic.!!!
The best food in town. We dine here at least once a week.
Great lunch at Manny’s - had the platter that gives you a taste of all the specialities: peri peri chicken, chouriço, calamari and prawns - with chips and (special mention) milho. Milho is fried cubes of mielie meal pap - a bit like polenta but whiter. It’s so good! Chips were the real deal. We shared the platter for one, having intended a “light lunch” - well, it was so substantial that no supper was needed. Manny is friendly and welcoming and waitress, Renée, warm and professional offering great prompt service. We had a bottle of Portuguese vinho verde because of the style of food - and we’re familiar with most of the excellent local wines so it was nice to try an unknown. Will definitely make a point to “maak’n draai” when anywhere nearby.
When in Bot River you have to make sure you dine at Manny’s Kitchen. Wonderful food, fresh and very tasty. We met the owner Manny who was a pleasure to meet you sir and a delish experience with a good selection of wines. Portuguese food was prepared in a traditional style was made with love and I recommend the Prawns & Espetada. The milho frito is a must try and is so tasty. Muito Obrigado Manny!
What a spectacular gem.
We were stopped for a quick lunch and were blown away with the seafood platters.
Service was fantastic, food excellent and setting amazing.
Definitely will be returning with friends and family.
P.S make a booking. They are very popular even in the surrounding towns and we overheard the waitress taking bookings for late January.
Authentic Portuguese food in such an unsuspecting location. Service was friendly and prompt and food was delicious! Worth the drive out and will be back.
Excellent food. Husband had chicken, prawn and calamari platter. I had Kingklip with lemon and garlic butter sauce. Lovely side feta side salad. All the food prepared to perfection, well spiced chicken, seafood juicy and delicious. Excellent service with a smile by front of the house manager, Rene. Rene offered us a sample of the fried mieliepap to taste and we are definitely ordering that next time. Manny the owner made us feel
very welcome. Be sure to book, this is a gem in the sleepy town of Botriver, definitely worth the drive from Hermanus.
Absolutely stunning. Attentive staff, lovely wine list, INCREDIBLE FOOD. So impressed and will definitely be back! Thank you Manny!
Milho frito was a very interesting side dish. Highly recommend.
Had lunch with family. Peri peri chicken and seafood was good, but trinichados was a bit tough. Host was nice.
Excellent food. Friendly and efficient service. We were seated by Manny himself which was very impressive. Thank you for a most enjoyable Saturday lunch!!!
I really wanted to love Manny's but it just didn't quite cut it. We ordered a main and 2 starters and waited over an hour for our food. It was a busy public holiday, but still....
The squid heads were bland. At least they weren't overcooked and tough. The chicken livers were probably the tastiest of the three dishes, but I just didn't like the sweetness of them. Would have preferred a really hot bowl of livers. The chicken was okay, a decent sized cook and still nicely succulent, but again that sweetness. What's the obsession with sweet meat in this part of the world? Chips were cold and really disappointing. All in all a very decent and reasonably priced wine list too.
I wasn't blown away, but it's always a bonus when something ISN'T horrible... And that's what Manny's served up on Tuesday.
