Went for a lunch and to watch the Currie Cup Final. I had the Hops Pie which was excellent. The wine selection was good and the variety of beers on tap. The service was also good. When I’m back in Ballito, I’ll definitely be back.
Great service. The breakfast exceeded our expectations and very generous portions. Best breakfast iv had this holiday. New decor gives the place a nice fresh feeling with upmarket finishes. We will be back for sure
Awesome place. Staff very friendly and food was good the multiple times we came here over our 4 day stay in Ballito. They even allowed our Jack Russel to join in the outside area that made it that much more convenient. Big ups for management at Hops. 5+

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had the calamari. Was delicious. My partner had a salad which was also good. Next day we had breakfast as well here. Its was very good. Service was good and management are visible. Recommended to all
We went there as a party of 4. The remodeling was done very well and it has a much more “fancy” feel to it. They have the best view in town and the remodeling really promotes sea view seating. Unfortunately the service and food isn’t that great. My beer was a bit flat and the food was typical pub type food that tasted a bit oily and not too fresh. It’s a very “vibey” place and the live music was good. Will go back for the Vibe not the food.
Menu is limited if like vegetarian stuff however if you are not into this the food is great. Fantastic ocean view but the parking area gets filled up rather quickly as it serves two restaurants and a swimming beach so come early in peak season.
Staff working here are very welcoming, the mussels were delicious and the cocktails are juicy!
I've been to Hops many times in my life. Recently, I went again for the first time since the renovation. As always, the place is an absolute gem to visit. It ticks all the boxes. Cold beers, great food, awesome atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit if you have not been there before. The upgrades look amazing, well done Hops team!
Great vibe and views of the waves. This is an institution and a must visit if looking for a sports bar, or just a good spot for a beer.
They have numerous brands of draft on tap, including Guinness.
The pizzas are on point! Fish and chips (hake) was some of the freshest tasting we've had.
One of the best things about The Hops is the great service. The ladies are always happy, quick, and efficient.
The main reason we go is to see the amazing musician and singer Andy Small. He's incredibly talented and plays so many instruments.

I really enjoyed Hops And Let me Tell you.... The Food, Service and everything was Astonishing! And there's A Jumping Castle for the Kiddies to play on and Its right and the beach But I really love that that have done Renovations and Our Waiter was really Lovely, Food was Fantastic and the Price was really Reasonable. I really Would Recommend Going Here! Just needs more 80's Music Played but Was very happy
Love the place. Stunning view of the ocean and for the hungry, try the burgers tasty and delicious. I have to back for the rest of the menu as that looked delicious as well. I could not post the video of the view. You have to experience it.
Service slow but food exellent.
Snagged a high table – one cannot eat without looking at the ocean. Sailboat artwork in bright colors on the wall decorated the inside. Hein decided on the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel. A cheese garlic roll to share and I fancied onion rings with cheese sauce. My eyes popped out!!!! The onion rings were only R35, but it WAS A HUGE PORTION!!!!!! It was absolutely smashing!!!! Hein’s schnitzel was little bit dry, but chips were great. The (not as small as in Joburg) cheese roll was yum. Couldn’t finish all the food – enjoyed a cappuccino and Rock shandy before we relaxed for a few minutes on a bench outside.
Great food and great views, can't beat the vibe of this place. First time visit and will definitely visit here again. Service delivery was also attentive. Had the jalapeno poppers as a starters and was equally tasty. Chicken schnitzel was soft and crispy with enough chorizo and bacon to cover it. Lovely views of the ocean and enough safe parking available. Vegetarian pizza tasted fresh and flavor was good.
