This place is truly deserving of 5 stars! The food is totally delicious. It does not matter which meal you order, the experience will be the same. The milkshakes and mock tales are equally good. The atmosphere is quant and intimate. I would honestly drive 30 minutes just to eat there.
The food was fantastic. Fresh, hot, tasty. We had pizza with the low carb base which was amazing, pasta and soup.
Definitely looks like there's something for everyone. Can't wait to bring the kids.
An absolute must go to if you’re in Cape Town!!!
I came to Cape Town from overseas as part of a family holiday. After getting to know my driver better, I mentioned that I’m a serious foodie and keen to explore the great halal-food offered around Cape Town. He kindly recommended that I must give The Butcher’s Wife a visit. This is quite simply, the best steak food place I’ve ever visited and ate at in the world!
The Butcher’s Wife had this quirky, cafe ambience to it. Very well designed and delightful to the eyes. The staff were incredibly friendly and seating was in good supply. The actual ‘Butcher’s Wife’ approached our table, as my accent gave away that I wasn’t from South Africa! She was very polite and hospitable (as were the other staff).
Being the first time we visited, we opted for the large variety of different dishes from the menu: Philly cheese steak baguette, prego steak salad, crumbed mushrooms antipasti, lamb steaks and chocolate cakes.
The food was absolutely incredible! The flavour to price to quality ratio was fantastic. The ratio of sauces to meat and overall laurering of the steak sandwiches and food was perfect. We ended up visiting this restaurant every day for our entire 11 day visit to Cape Town.
I cannot wait to visit Cape Town and this restaurant again! Highly recommend.
