Fantastic food, service and ambience. Food is so fresh, colourful and absolutely delicious. A favourite every time!

The Hidden Leaf is a great spot for a nice relaxed lunch watching the sunset. A beautiful view of the mountain highlights the picturesque scenery of Woodstock. That coupled with a calm decor and vibey decorations means you are never uncomfortable when coming here.
The drinks come in a variety of incredible and unique creations that are equal parts delicious and beautiful.
The food is some of the best in Cape Town. As a Vegan I often have to accept hunger as a natural consequence of leaving the house but the options at the Hidden Leaf are so filling and delicious you won't for a moment think of complaining.
All of that is topped off by incredible service, the staff here re polite and quick. The chef personally comes out to take your order. There is not a restaurant I have been too so far that goes so far out of its way to treat the customer as if they were family,

I’ve been wanting to try out the Hidden Leaf for some time. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much based purely on the size of the place but ended up being pleasantly surprised.

First off it’s a cozy and inviting little spot. I would prefer a little bit more light so I can appreciate the detail in my food the chef spent time preparing. The service is fast and my waitress for the evening was enthusiastic and took the time to go through the entire menu. There are bold flavor choices in the menu and some really interesting takes on classic dishes. This bold take on a concise menus was exciting for me.

I decided to share a starter of soft shelled blue crab citron with Candice Nancy (Ryan) Rafael.the crab meat itself was delicious but having the slight crunch of the crab shell with the tempura styled batter I found too much. I would have done one or the other. Moving to the bottom of the dish there was some slaw and super hot and spicy sauce which has serious kick to it. In the sauce there are prawns with the most interesting smoked flavor. It’s subtle and tasty then the chili overwhelms it a bit.

Next up was a prawn and salmon burger - I had this one purely because I’ve never seen a prawn salmon burger. Firstly the wedges with the truffle oil - yum. The burger itself had a great flavors and definitely unique to this spot. Overall no complaints except my bun may have been in that grey area between toasted crispy and slightly charred.

Candice had the pulled pork and funny enough we both enjoyed each other’s dishes more than the dish we ordered. The pulled pork was amazingly tender and just lovely with the slaw in red wine jus.

The coffee we had we prepared well with a good foam quality and not burnt so you could taste the coffee. I really enough the homemade ceramic mugs the coffee was served in.

This spot definitely surprised. I will be back for that grown up Mac and Cheese that was on then menu.

My mind was blown when we visited Hidden Leaf for the first time recently. Looking at their chalkboard menu, I didn't hold up much hope for vegan options, but the waiter surprised us by assuring us that there were at least three items on the menu we could consider. At least it's a nice day at the view is really good, I thought.

The first dish we chose was a butternut risotto with delicate drizzles of herb oil and coconut cream, topped with toasted leaks and micro herbs. It was out of this world!

Our second dish, which I can't remember the name of, had a base of spicy capsicum and tomato sauce in the bottom of the bowl, and was topped with red quinoa and smoked beetroot chips. It was amazing!

It's such a treat to have some choice at a really nice restaurant, and then to find that all of the food is absolutely yummy! I can't wait to go back; especially because the menu seems to change quite often. Service was lovely, and I really liked the atmosphere and the outdoor garden area. And they're doggie friendly!

I randomly strolled in with a couple of friends one quiet evening, best surprise ever. We tried several different dishes which we loved (fresh, full of life and flavors). The place has a very homely intimate vibe though I think the food became the ambiance at some point:)
If your looking for an authentic food high this is the place to go and they cater for Vegan/vegeterian diets. service was without fault and always with a smile. Budget about 200 pp. Definitely going back
