I really enjoyed the food here. I got the meatballs which were extremely tasty, but they were a bit small compared to what I’m used to. I got the half gatsby sandwich with vegan chicken and beef, honestly I didn’t know what was what, but it was really good regardless. The half sandwich was hugeee I could only eat half, so even if it’s a bit pricey it’s massive and you’ll get two meals out of it.

Loved eating here. They have a great vibe. The food is really good for vegan fast food. The portions are quite big and often serve 2. I would give this place 5 stars except for the fact that it seems like they are using store bought soya products for most of their meals and thus I feel like I could prepare most of them at home. Having said that, I would definitely go there again because I did enjoy it a lot. They usually only open from noon till later so be sure to check the operating hours before you go.
A few weeks ago one of my students' proposed that we go vegan for lunch at the office. He was widely rebuked at first but because we are a very democratic group, we decided to go with his option of a Lekker Vegan gatsby. Now, recently, as a group we have tried out quite a few spots and we were very sceptical of a meatless gatsby. However, R200 later per gatsby, the student pitched up with 3 gatsby's. "Beef", "chicken" and "mix" and we digged in. I did not like the chicken one but that is just preference. The chicken just did not taste lekker or like chicken. But, the "Beef" one was cool. Really nice and fresh salad ingredients and the chips was very good. The roll is something different but it was OK. I told my students that I would have loved more sauce and they said they could have asked for more sauce so that should not decrease ratings 😁. I gave the gatsby a solid 7.5 out of 10 and would recommend that everyone in CPT try it out to experience it for themselves.
I'm a full on meat eater. My mom is a vegan. I took her here for mother's Day and she said that it was one of the yummiest things she's eaten in a real long time. I also agree with that. To be honest. The nachos that I had were delicious. I'd highly recommend this place even if you're a meat eater. Also got a nice 50% off for my mom.
Went there for dinner last night, got the 222 Lockdown Deal, the Nachos were incredible! I love, love, love the cheese sauce. The burgers weren't as impressive... But there are still many items on the menu I want to go try! Will definitely visit again. In a very vibey part of town, on Kloof street. Parking is a bit of a pain at certain times of day. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has indoor and outdoor seating available. They even have a little selfie light installed where they encourage customers to take a selfie and tag them. Overall a very nice place to go have a meal. Would recommend.
Lekker makes for a great meal. If you are with friends, get the Messy and share. It is a great value and a good meal. There is a good variety of choices that are all vegan. We went back multiple times over the course of four days. Good music, good atomosphere, and great food.
BRILLIANT!! Amazing service, appetizing meals, trendy vibe. Absolutely loved our experience there. We got served will a smile and great mood at all times. Kitchen was quick with our order and it tasted out of this world. I had the nacho wrappy, hubby had the sloppy joe burger. Ultimate vegan junk food joint!
I am not a vegan. But I do sometimes fast, and refrain from eating anything from an animal. It was during such a fast that I stumbled upon this gem!!! Wow! Absolutely loved my vegan burger... I may consider actually becoming vegan, if the food is always this lekker. Keep up the awesome job! If you in the area, give it s try...
Burgers are delicious, personally prefer the 'chicken' options.
Service could really do with some improvement, guy that assisted us seemed to be in another zone , gave off this impression that he was doing a favour by helping us.
Let's see its my first time with vegan food. I've eaten soy and things before however this is a first in a food outlet. The food took longer than I expected with no customers before us. Service was friendly and helpful. Venue was nice and clean. The options were limited and clear. The taste was new to me and I realised that it needs to be eaten in combination and not pulled off the item eaten. Was a bit too much sauce for my liking as it over powered the flavour of the meal but I suppose that's how you make a gadsby in Cape Town lol. The loaded fries was actually the best I've ever tasted and the chips were crispy and tasty. Not sure how they did it but it was some good chips. Overall a good experience however it made me feel more open to trying a new vegan place than return and buy additional options off the menu.
