Very rustic, exactly what you would expect from a small town in the Weskus. I had the garlic mussels and chips and my husband had the calamari and chips. Great value for money, large portions, staff were friendly.

Flavour fresh and robust. Fried hake lovely n crispy. Sauce in little tubs awkward to use rather have a shorter wider tub to get into. Calamari could be chopped thinner to make it easier to bite and chew. Mega chip portions could have extra salt n vinegar already added. Sauce isn't enough . Tot size
We enjoyed our food immensely at Die Vis Vlekhuis. The portions are huge, such good value for money. This is a besic fish and chips type cafe with casual seating and a bar for drinks.
Don't come here expecting a fancy restaurant but come here hungry because you will want to eat every last bite.
Excellent seafood meal, fresh and well prepared. Very reasonably priced. Downside. Smokers in restaurant inside, so I recommend an outside seat.
We were told that we would get the best fish on Veldrif at this establishment. Well, let me confirm. This is the best I have had in a very long time. This will be a definite stop every time we visit Veldrif.
Great quality food and really good prices. Looks and smells like West Coast. Very pleasant surprise. For someone who doesn't really like chips, mine disappeared very quickly. Prawns and more calamari delectable and seems so fresh.

Die Visvlekhuis Pub and Diner has great burgers, breakfast and seafood. Love their logo, anything fresher is still swimming in the ocean. They are in the Laaiplek Harbour, a beautiful area at the mouth of the Bergriver

Friends breakfast. R65 for scrumptious meal of chips, cheese russian, two pieces of bacon, two eggs and two pieces of toast with tea or coffee. Good service and great value for money. Highly recommended. Wednesdays get a burger free with any other burger ordered. Lots of bar specials.
Location is fabulous, portion size is huge and food is good. The only downside is that the kitchen gets very busy and it's a long wait (around 45 minutes) before your order arrives.
Great quality fish. Wonderful batter! If you eat where the locals eat, you eat where heart and food meet.
