Very rustic, exactly what you would expect from a small town in the Weskus. I had the garlic mussels and chips and my husband had the calamari and chips. Great value for money, large portions, staff were friendly.
Friendly Westcoast takeaway close to the harbour of Laaiplek. View of the sea on the opposite side if the road. Open air seating as well as indoor seating. Sit down option for takeaway served with crockery and cutlery. Very Reasonable pricing and great food. We ordered the calamari and hake combo. Best calamari. Would opt for grilled hake next time if option is available. Lovely experience.
Flavour fresh and robust. Fried hake lovely n crispy. Sauce in little tubs awkward to use rather have a shorter wider tub to get into. Calamari could be chopped thinner to make it easier to bite and chew. Mega chip portions could have extra salt n vinegar already added. Sauce isn't enough . Tot size sauce for like a kg of chips and fish.This was our first time and we will be back. Please make sure you guys have some prawns in future ;)
We enjoyed our food immensely at Die Vis Vlekhuis. The portions are huge, such good value for money. This is a besic fish and chips type cafe with casual seating and a bar for drinks.
Don't come here expecting a fancy restaurant but come here hungry because you will want to eat every last bite.
Excellent seafood meal, fresh and well prepared. Very reasonably priced. Downside. Smokers in restaurant inside, so I recommend an outside seat.
We were told that we would get the best fish on Veldrif at this establishment. Well, let me confirm. This is the best I have had in a very long time. This will be a definite stop every time we visit Veldrif.
Great quality food and really good prices. Looks and smells like West Coast. Very pleasant surprise. For someone who doesn't really like chips, mine disappeared very quickly. Prawns and more calamari delectable and seems so fresh.
Food was freshly prepared. Nice big portions of fish and chips. Prices is reasonable.
