We stumbled upon Bagdad Cafe almost by accident due to a delay on our bike trip.
Won’t make that mistake again as it’s truly an experience and the food is also excellent.
Well worth making a stop here if you happen to be in the area.

Love this place. It is on the way to Nieuwoudsville from Vanrhynsdorp. One can look at all the old stuff around and read the funny comments al around. The food is good and portions are big. Prices are really reasonable. If you take a drive to go look at the flowers...stop at Bagdad Café. It is worth it.

What a lovely surprise stop with so much character. Awesome place to stop, give your legs a rest and explore the little shop for some old treasures. Have a lovely lunch. Must try the pancakes, something cold and you are ready to continue with your trip. We will pop in every time on our future flower hunting trips. Thanks.

Very nice food at great prices. As a pancake lover, I ordered two plain cinnamon and sugar pancakes, but did not know it would be gigantic ones. A must if you pass there. The place seems a little rundown or ruff, but give it a try.
Fabulous place to stop to break the journey. Weird and wonderful! A big fire was going to warm the place up and several cats took advantage of the warmth. Great coffee and great service.
We did at pitstop on our way to Nieuwoudtville. The trip was hot and tiring and then we saw Bagdad. The oasis between nowhere.
Ice cold beer, roosterkoek, pancakes with fillings and good tea, await you here!
We had ice cold home made gingerbeer. Wow, it is excellent! Buy a bottle for the road too!
