Review The Chefs' Table - Umhlanga Rocks

It is that good. Come and spoil your tastebuds. I have been here a couple of times, and each time I go I get to enjoy food again. Food takes a new meaning, it's no longer filling your stomach, rather now it's fills your soul. If you can get the wine pairing do go with that as their pairings are always on point. Is it pricey, yes, but it creates a lovely memory that will last a very long time.

Had an outstanding meal at Chefs Table on a Monday evening. There were 5 of us including 1 vegetarian and everyone was blown away by the food. The service was also top notch and friendly. I will definitely be back in the future

Great place for adventurous food with unusual flavours. I had the artichoke starter which was excellent. And the fish of the day which was close to perfect. I would rate the Restaurant a 4.7.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Everything that we ordered tasted amazing and so different to the normal way vegetarian meals are prepared...it wad a feast for the eyes as well as for the tummy.

Went for ladies lunch and everything was magnificent. Lovely menu, great presentations of food. The Karoo lamb could have been served warmer though.

Lovely venue for a year end lunch. Our waiter, Moses, was fantastic and the food was excellent. Will definitely go there again.

Wow. What an awesome dining experience. The food was exquisite. Unusual flavors combing so well. The service from Maxine was excellent. She didn't hover or get in our space yet our wine glasses were continuously filled and she was there whenever we needed her. Such a professional. I loved the vibe of the restaurant. Being able to see the chefs at work was excellent

An absolute culinary delight! The most scrumptious and beautifully prepared food I’ve had in a long time. I’ve been twice, and both times, the food and service was excellent. Your bill is accompanied by some small finger treats which are out of this world. Treat yourself to The chef’s table at least once.

Great food experience. Well prepared dishes. Some of the portions are a little large (my starter), and my main dish seemed odd with side dishes where everyone else's were served on one plate. Would be much better of those sides were part of the dish, although this is likely a personal preference. It's a minor nitpick though as the food was delicious.

What an amazing experience. The food was great, the service was superb and the venue is beautiful. Definitely worth the visit. I had the pickled and crispy squid for starters - definitely had a Durban flavour to it. For mains I had the 28 day wet-aged fillet. It was great! A fair portion too. All in all an amazing evening was had by all. The bathrooms are also worth a visit. 🤣

Unique flavors, plating and food overall. Had something to serve different palates which was an experience on its own. Service by the staff was exemplary and very attentive, they made celebrating a birthday truly special. Atmosphere is relaxing the vibe is good, Wish they could have done a little more with the interior though.

The experience was truly one of a kind. I’ve been to fine dining restaurants but this really topped it. The components on each dish just went to well together. The food was so delicious. Even though I had veg meals it was really so well executed. This was my anniversary lunch and my husband and I were treated so well on our special day. Would really recommend everyone to have this experience. Really felt like a Hell’s Kitchen tasting lol.

Food was excellent. Attended a work event at the restaurant and my office called in advance to arrange a halaal menu for me. The chef came to me to advise that I could have the seafood or duck and that my meal would be prepared separately without fear of cross contamination. The seafood platter was excellent and a generous portion at that.

We had a wonderful experience at The Chef's Table tonight. The food was sublime. Rich, unctuous, and nuanced. Portion sizes were just right. We explored several different offerings from pasta to seafood, beef and pork, and we were not disappointed. Oh, and the desserts - wow! Whatever you choose, you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed watching the Chef's at work. I was hoping for a bit of drama a la Gordon Ramsey, but that did not materialise. Prices are steep, but worth every hard earned Rand. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The waitress was knowledgeable and well versed on the dishes. Highly recommended.

Excellent dining experience all round. Private room seated 13 comfortably. Food, atmosphere and service were exceptional. Great experience!

The food was good with well combined flavors. Good staff and service. I did, however, expect a more exclusive, sophisticated restuarant . The casual, busyness fortunately did not distract from the food quality.

Perfect ! Food, drinks, ambience, service, everything was perfect. A very memorable fine dining experience. I devoured every morsel of every dish I ordered. The flavours and textures were a sensation for the tastebuds. The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation is meticulous. The service was exceptional, our waiter was perfect with her timing and was able to explain items on the menu that I couldn’t fully understand. I was extremely pleased at the cleanliness of the toilets. It’s something that restaurants can never seem to pay attention to but can greatly affect the overall experience of the establishment. Well done management and staff for getting this right. I can easily recommend The Chefs Table. It’s live up to its reputation and reviews. I will definitely be back on another special occasion.
