Baslsamic vinegar ice cream, are you barking mad! Well you are if you don't try it!
Beautiful food, charming setting.
I booked picnic baskets at Readers and was blown away by the wonderful selection and attention to detail - from pate to cheeses to exotic breads and the selection of cold cuts I felt like Caligula himself had issued an invitation.
Absolutely something special, I was drawn to it immediately as I walked down the street.
It has such a vibe! Once in, you really don't want to leave and you feel quite literally at home. It's gorgeous aesthetic is pleasing to the eye and will likely catch your attention wherever you look.
The service, coupled with everything else makes this a MUST VISIT.
Enjoy! :)
The restaurant is in a historical building from 1750. It is the second oldest building in Tulbach. The food was excellent and tasty. It arrived fairly quickly and the waitresses were very friendly, professional and efficient. The atmosphere is wonderful in this historic building with yellow wood making a large portion of the building material. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries. The owner is a cat lover and there are cat statues at the entrance and two friendly cats that roam around the restaurant. Prices were also very reasonable. It is well worth a visit if you are in Tulbach.
Gorgeous! I walked in and was greeted by a cat. Another cat sat on my lap at a beautiful wooden table with stunning decor, candlesticks and white fabric napkins. The food was exceptional and exceeded my expectations. Beautiful music played in the background. This place is magical
We loved it here for our wedding anniversary. And Carol made it special with even customised menus with our names on it! The food was delicious and you need to try the watermelon pizza and f) favoured ice cream. We will be back!
Definitely the best restaurant in Tulbagh. Food is excellent and the best homemade ice cream I've ever tasted. Thank you
What a delightful evening that ticked all the boxes. Fresh food, seasoned to perfection without overwhelming the dish and a cozy lovely atmosphere.
What a cosy little place with the most friendly cats to welcome us, along with a complimentary sherry. The food was delicious, service friendly and very good value for money. The owner Carol was very attentive as were her staff. Tulbagh is the fourth oldest town in South Africa with the Dutch settlers arriving in the early 1700’s. With several wine farms in the area, and other interesting historical sites, it’s well worth a visit.
Delicious soft trout with greens and caramelized sweet potatoes. Excellent service and homely atmosphere with kitties as theme.
A comfortable yet classy restaurant with hearty food and friendly staff. The restaurant itself is quaint and romantic, set inside a converted Dutch style house. The food is absolute soul food, generous portions and made with great care by the chef who came to greet everyone individually. Our waitress was kind and welcoming, and makes the most delicious homemade ice-cream (a must have)! We can recommend the springbok shank as well, but are keen to return to try the famous pork chop!
This was such an unexpected quaint experience! The food is delicious, the service is phenomenal and the entire vibe is just fantastic. The restaurant is situated in an old Cape Dutch style house with wooden floors and high ceilings... it's just awesome! Check it out!
