Loved the food and atmosphere here. The service was just the right side of attentive and their eggs were cooked to perfection. The gluten free bread also does not taste gluten free, which is a win for me as I am offended at having to be gluten free! The loveliest thing was they served me a proper bowl of chilli when I asked for it to go with my scrambled eggs, it was very very spicy and delicious. I think it’s used by people working from home as I saw lots of people on their laptops working away, so I might do that a couple times a week if my kids are at school and don’t have extra curricular activities after. The tea is served in a cute little stone pot and they gave it to me with condensed milk when I asked, because sometimes for my second cup, I like a treat ☺️. My husband said his croissant was spectacular and the coffee was good too! It’s also next to a super cute book store so if you are working here, you could take a break there. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else they have.

Honestly, this place has the best coffee in Cape Town by far! The service is always extremely friendly and the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries in the air perfectly complements the warm and cozy atmosphere. And don't get me started on the food! Absolutely a hidden gem!

I have a #small addiction to Rainbow cakes and Vovo are my go to for my fix. At R52 you are getting a fairly large slice with vibrant colours and sprinkles. Its moist and delicious. They have other varieties of cakes available plus open for breakfast, lunch and tea and their food is yummy. They offer platters for special occasions too. The staff are friendly and professional are go out of their way to assist all customers 😀. I had the sad misfortune of Shelby the dog im looking after steal my piece of rainbow 🌈 cake off the counter when nipped to the shop quick 🙄😭. However was back today at the Steenberg branch for another- made sure was hidden away lol. Constantia branch are amazing too. There's a special of cake and a coffee available in the afternoons- can't recall price which is worth it xx

Wonderful bread, whenever l am in the area, l get a loaf of bread, the closest to the one, l grew up with in Austria. A lovely Bakery and Cafe, who supports the local soup kitchen with everything left over, all is freshly baked every day. The friendly, dedicated staff is hand picked and highly trained by the justify ably proud, enthusiastic management of this charming Establishment. I wish them well, may they prosper and grow together, may they have a fabulous Christmas season. May they be rewarded for their kind generosity to their less fortunate fellow beings.

A wonderful restaurant with so much to offer. Divine breakfasts, lunches or baked goods. Everyone can be catered for. Everything is freshly made with great speed, even when the restaurant is busy. Toilet facilities are close by in the small centre. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is free with wheelchair accessibility.

Food is top-notch, uique, the atmosphere is peaceful ✌️, calming and the variety of food, specials and treats are tons to choose from. They have usual specials such as cake 🎂and coffee. They also have seating outside where you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Kids can enjoy some coloring while u wait for your food. Just ask your waiter 😉
Recommend the rainbow 🌈cake 🎂for sure! Flatjacks are good aswell.

It was our first time at Vovo Telo Bakery situated in Steenberg Village shopping complex. We were hoping to sit outside but the tables were all taken as it was quite a busy Sunday morning but inside was quite cozy. We noticed the beautiful art on the walls that was for sale...bit of an art gallery. Our waitron came quickly to take our order. The service was efficient and friendly. There was a selection of newspapers to read which is always a bonus for us. We didn't wait too long for our meal which looked yummy. It was a pleasant morning at Vovo Telo Bakery. Prices are competitive...RR. We will surely go again.

My first visit. Popped in for a quick brunch. Selected quiche of the day. Waitron was divine and friendly. The quiche and salad , looked fresh and inviting. Imagine my disappointment when the bottom half of the quiche was ice cold and inedible while the top which had been under the grill was hot. I was on a time constraint so could not wait for food to be reheated.
I informed the waitron as constructive criticism, then paid for my meal and left... still hungry.
I don't think I'll be back.

This particular branch is very well decorated. The right amount of old and new to feel cozy but not like your grans house. Service is quick and my flat white arrived before i could blink twice. I do find the blend of coffee they use slightly too bitter for my liking. It's definitely a blend best had with milk and not straight up black (like my soul). I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict because what's better than poached eggs and salmon really. The portion size was perfect for me and the eggs almost delivered 100% a small portion of the egg white was undercooked but there was a great "ooz" to the yellow

Probably the worst of the Vovo Telo's chain of franchises that I have visited as it's quite popular in Gauteng. Sadly my experience was underwhelming - lazy, poor service coupled with so-not-creamy scrambled eggs made for a sad breakfast. The flat white was good, thus the extra point. But it was the service that got to me- had to seat myself, waited forever for the menu, had to hail one of the waitresses to take my order...let's just say it didn't get better. Question to self- when will I have the courage not to tip for poor service😠<br/>

I am on a mission to find the top lunch venues in the southern suburbs. Shortly after sitting down I read a few reviews and decided there is no need to write a review.....just read Tarryn Bento's!! The decor is very interesting and the first cup of coffee amazing. The menu is interesting with many different options such as the Boards. I ordered the Onassis, a new item on the new Winter Menu. Slow roasted lamb shredded and sautéed with sundries tomatoes, red onion garlic and mozzarella on a bun. Sounded delicious but unfortunately a disappointment. It's a mush of brown stuff on an overly sweet bun. It was very oily and far too rich. I managed to eat about 1/2 after adding some pepper which didn't improve it at all. I was asked if I wanted anything else, thought I may some fresh fruit or fruit salad to try take the richness away and was offered a muesli/yogurt/fruit breakfast option? At midday? Decided to settle for another amazing coffee. So I was a bit disappointed although I may come back and try again sometime. But probably not for a while. The service was ok but not outstanding and the response to my disappointment with the meal was disappointing!

Vovo Telo is a really nice place for anyone budget! I've never had any problems with their food with regards to messing up orders or the likes. I went there yesterday with my boyfriend and ordered the coppa croissant by accident instead of the gypsy ham croissant (also really good) and was not let down despite my error! They also make really good which chocolate mocha and red cappuccinos 😊 my boyfriend got a mustard chicken and Avo sandwich which was a bit salty but the Avo really evened it out! The service wasn't as friendly as usual, but there was only one waiter that Sunday. It's a very relaxed family and business lunch setting. I also one a cake this Valentine's Day so look out for any other festive giveaways! Will definitely be back :)

It was my mum's 50th and choosing the perfect lunch spot for this special occasion was a critical decision to make. We have always loved Vovo Telo and visited many of the branches around the country. Despite our somewhat rocky start to this particular visit, Vovo Telo is sill a family favourite! We booked a big table for this occasion long in advance but someone made a mistake and our reservation had been forgotten about. Thank goodness it wasn't too busy because we didn't wait too long for the manager and some waiters to organize a table.<br/>There is something on the menu for everyone- from salads to harvest boards; burgers to sandwiches (closed and open); pasta to pizzas. This time I opted for pizza and my sister and I shared the Classic (Parma ham, rocket and balsamic reduction) and the Butter Chicken Pasanda. They were both absolutely divine!! The crust was thin, light and baked to perfection and the toppings were super tasty and fresh. The service was good but not mind blowing and our food all arrived at different times.<br/>Would definitely recommend this funky little café to all those who enjoy a varied menu, a welcoming atmosphere and healthy food!

Vovo Telo is a vintage style bakery that has filling food and friendly service. We went to Vovo Telo for breakfast and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was great, but you wouldn't call the seating comfortable. We ordered our food and drinks which did not take long to arrive. My mothers meal included a side order of spinach. Unfortunately the spinach had not been cooked and was not washed properly. There were still pieces of sand in the uncooked spinach. We informed our waiter who called the manager for us. The manager apologized for the sand in the spinach and gave us a coupon for a free coffee. The service was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was well priced and tasty, but I wouldn't call it extraordinary. Would recommend Vovo Telo to families who are looking for a filling meal with a friendly atmosphere. Leila Eshraghi

Let me start off by saying that this outlet of Vovo Telo is absolutely outstanding. Seriously, there is not a single thing that I can fault them on, or anything I thought, hmmm, that could have been better. From the moment I walked in the door to when I left, I was blown away.<br/><br/>First of all, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous inside - there is so much to look at in terms of the decor. They also have their bakery section right by the door, with their baked goods displayed in the window - really hard to walk by without being tempted!<br/><br/>I walked in and the waitrons already started playfully joking with me about my photo-taking, and I was quickly seated and offered something to drink. As I was waiting for a friend, I declined, but during my five-or-so-minute wait, I was approached by two more waitrons, wanting to assist me - absolutely fantastic in terms of attentiveness!<br/><br/>The food itself was divine. I had the Pate Board - chicken pate with warm, roasty bread and caramelised pears - utterly delicious; I would never have thought of pairing chicken (especially in pate form) with pears! My friend had the pulled pork piadini and was equally impressed. You get a lot of food in each dish, so it's really value for money, but on top of it, it's really just plain yum!<br/><br/>I rounded my meal off with my favourite coffee - Cafe Mocha, and it was totally on point. <br/><br/>Overall, I am so impressed with this restaurant, I cannot wait to go back, and will tell everyone I know to give it a try.

From the moment I walked in, I was mesmerised by the interior and layout of this cute cafe. From the wallpaper, bunnies popping up everywhere and beautiful chandeliers, it all just blends in so well together making it such a great space.<br/><br/>The menu offers a nice collection of sarmies with a number of different types of bread to choose from. My friend and I both decided to have the Reuben - pastrami, caramelised onions, gherkins and boerenkaas - she had hers on ciabatta and mine was a baguette. They failed to mention the mustard on the menu which was quite overwhelming, but other than that the ingredients were all fresh and made for a good, filling sandwich. <br/><br/>They have a lovely display of cakes and pastries which made it close to impossible to leave without grabbing a treat for the road. Not having tried it before and being my curious self, I chose a cronut (a croissant-doughnut pastry, if you are not familiar with it). It tasted completely different to what I expected, imagine a fried croissant covered in sugar, yet not oily and soft and buttery inside? I would definitely recommend it! <br/><br/>Our waitress was friendly, helpful and quick to service us. Really a nice spot for lunch or even just a cup of coffee.
Adventure Clubs
Vovo Telo Steenberg hosted Adventure Clubs (adventureclubs.com) for an afternoon session of baking with their stunning Pastry Chef. The whole thing was just phenomenal. We had 12 kids (and their parents) participating in making chocolate croissants, and custard/raisen pastries. The kids cut and rolled the dough, placed the goodies inside, watched them bake and then ate them up. (While mommies helped and enjoyed cake and wine on the side.) LOVE IT!!!

The first vovo telo I visited was the waterfront and the service was extremely helpful and friendly. I then visited the steenberg one and was equally impressed. The space indoors is better. It's busy. Vibey but classy. Good service and great selection of goods to eat or drink x

Fabulous place: their pizza with bacon and chili honey & balsamic with rocket is simply to DIE for. Only R63 & big enough to share..
