We normally plan at least one meal at the Raj during our visits to Sun City. On this occasion we were surprised to see that they serve traditional indian breakfasts. This is served on the weekend only. The buffet consisted of delicious fresh Idli and spicy Sambar with coconut and red chutneys. There are Poha as well. The chefs make fresh hot Dosas, paratha and Uttapams which are delicious. The Upma was light fluffy and tasty.
All this is served with ginger fresh brewed masala chai.
I would definitely want to have this breakfast on my next visit.
Our waiters Mike and Alex were exceptional and the chef also made us a special gajjar halwa to finish off our breakfast
I definite must try when in Sun City.
Still one of the best curries I’ve had. They have a good variety of vegetarian and vegan options, everything is quite pricey though. I found that the food was adequate spiced and I enjoyed that I could still taste what I was eating even when the dish was hot
This restaurant is a firm favorite with my family. They never disappoint and we have been here several times. The menu caters for a variety of protein choices and the flavors are spot on. I love the fact that they also offer more interesting desserts.
The food was extremely tasty and the service was very efficient. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and our waiter, Allen, was brilliant.
After wondering around the various hotels and restaurants, we finally settled on the Raj. Not the best atmosphere as it’s in the casino (bright lights and old carpets), but the food was really good and service was attentive. Nice option for when the ‘fancier’ restaurants don’t appeal.
Went to the Raj to book a table for my anniversary, they set up everything to perfection without me asking they went the extra mile. The food was great I had Chicken Corma which melted in my mouth. Champagne, flowers, candles and presents. Great evening!
I visited the restaurant and say that the ambience was excellent. We had veg lunch. It was very good.
Then we tried Khichdi raita in dinner. Really appreciate it. The service was courteous and efficient.
Went to The Raj on a bad night as they lost power in the kitchen right after firing my order. So as the rest of the restaurant walked out I was the only one who managed to get supper. The waiter was very polite and kept me informed of the situation, constantly checking on me even though everyone was running around a bit frantic. We had the Lamb Dhal Gohst, with garlic naan, basmati rice and sambal salad. The portion of curry was not sufficient to finish the naan or the rice and quite disappointingly the curry does not come with any items so you need to order rice, naan or salad seperately. The curry was nice enough but definitely felt like it wasnt quite value for money and I'm sure anyone who eats bigger portions will not be satisfied after the meal.
Great Indian food spot!
Their cocktails are well priced and delicious. The setting is nice even if they use table cloths I'm sure my granny bought for her dining room table in 1950.
We ordered onion pakora and a chicken salad (not on the menu) for starters. Both so delicious and flavourful. For mains we had seafood breyani, spicy and hearty, and lamb dahl gosht which basically tasted like home. It's lamb cooked in lentils red chillies cumin and garlic. So aromatic and satisfying. We had it with garlic naan, although I've recently tried the chilli naan and that's also fantastic.
Was at this restaurant before 2 days for dinner with friends. The staff is very quick and courteous.
Food was delicious especially the veg biryani.
The aloo paratha was also well made. The dal makhni was just perfect. However this place is heavy on the pocket.
Also make sure you take a reservation as they have big groups of Indian families coming with Tours.
Only good Indian option in suncity so they do act pricy.
Howver of u are really keen to have Indian then indulge and spend more Here.
