We went for a quick late lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the food we found here in the heart ❤️ of Stellenbosch.
You can see this is true Italian for the pizza 🍕 was some of the best i have had in a long time.
My wife had Ravioli Pasta and again you can see the flavouring was true Italian.
The rest was also above average with fast service.
The only not so nice was not so much Rome's fault was the Bistro across them had to much students and noisy.

This modern italian restaurant is the perfect spot any day of the week for any type of occasion. The atmosphere is perfect, it feels like you are sitting in a cobblestone street in Italy, perfectly situated in the hustle and bustle of the foodie strip of Stellenbosch (Church Street). Both ladies that served us were attentive, quick and friendly. Our drinks were cold and our food was hot. Food was quick and everything was beautifully balanced and flavoursome! We had a margherita to start and then the rigattoni bolognese and spaghetti alfredo. Will definitely be back again soon.

I was introduced to this small eatery by an Italian friend, and so was probably spoiled a bit as far as the Italian authenticity is concerned as the owner came to chat to us so it felt and sounded like you were actually in Rome. The food was really excellent. Had to eat a pasta dish as there was loadshedding, but it was really excellent. Seats on the sidewalk also gave it a distinctly European feel, and the service was also excellent. I will certainly be returning with other friends to introduce them to the restaurant, probably multiple times.

A lovely atmosphere, and on a Sunday night that seems to be hard to find in Stellies! Delightful company makes all the difference. The chicken strips are tender and delicious! The menu has such a variety of things I’ve bever seen on amy other menu in Stellenbosch, really unique! The Pink Pony Grenache Noir Rosé was allright, the back of the bottle was super creative and made us laugh!

One of my favourite places to stop for a slice of pizza (option available if you're early enough - somewhere around 11:30am) and a glass of wine.
The accent here is on quality and the feel of being on a sidewalk in Italy; and it really is as close as you're going to get to that vibe this side of the equator. The wine served is good quality - mostly boutique-sourced varieties - and the coffee is what you'd expect to find at an Italian café. Their pizzas are delicious and the atmosphere typically Italian.
A possible downside is that the service is hit-and-miss. Depending on who serves your table that day, you could either love or hate the experience.
Overall: well worth a stop.
