Review Piza E Vino - Stellenbosch

The pizza are incredible. Prob my favourite ever. Crisp, tasty huge, The locations great. Set in a sunny courtyard. The staff are exceptional. Attentive but not overbaring. Very happy to help and happy generally. I stayed a few hours and they broughtmy dogs water and one even went to a local pet store and brought some dog food for them. Unlike most places they welcomed the dogs and catered for them rather than tolerated them. Great bunch of people and great service . Highly highly recommend

Very good restaurant, and nice outside area as well. Family friendly and the food is always good. Some great specials as well on a regular basis.

Stopped for a quick lunch over the weekend. The pasta was delicious 😋 😍 service was good and overall we had a great experience.

Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Nearby area for kids to get wet while parents can keep an eye and relax. Good service and overall good experience

I was very sad to hear that Piza-e-vino in Stellenbosch had to close down during Covid. I never checked again on Mr Delivery. The other day I tried to check it out again (some websites said that it was closed down) and found, to my delight, an immediate response to my WhatsApp! There are several other restaurants that hardly reply if you send them a booking or a request. They are one of the few restaurants who do true Paleo pizza bases and Banting food. Pity I can't add some pictures here. The food and service was 200%. The waitrons were friendly and very accommodating. I spent a lot longer time there than I meant to. And, it is about 1km out of town, which means, no parking problems. For a person by myself, I can park my car very close to the restaurant, not like in the centre of Stellenbosch. I am so sorry that I have forgotten the names of the waitrons on duty, but please compliment them. It was Monday 7 Feb 2022 at about 17:30. I won't go to another restaurant around here again, now.

Piza-e-Vino has a chilled atmosphere with good background music. The pizzas are great and come in medium or large and they also offer gluten free base (only available in large). The staff are friendly and accommodating. A 500ml still water costs R22, which I find excessive, but all restaurants seem to be taking advantage of the water shortage in this regard. Other than that, a great experience!

They have a massive variety of different food, and the waiters was very kind, and the decor it also very lovely, I would definitely recommend, and they also have vegan options :3

Pizzas for lunch.a first visit to eatery.lovely cosy with roaring fireplace, ideal on a wintery Saturday afternoon. Service: friendly knowledgeable waitron.menu options- from pastas and pizzas to meats.vegetarian options available. Pizzas were thin based I had the Quatro, artichokes were delicious.friend had the james brown,the barbecue sauce brought all components on the pizza into a cohesive lip-smacking delight..glasses of merlot washed down our pizzas .restaurant is on entertainer. Will definitely be back.

Never had a bad meal here. Their milkshakes are absolutely delicious as well as their pizzas. It's also great that you can do half/half options.

I really enjoy the pizza. This time I had the calzone which was excellent. Every time I have been, the owner asks me if I had a good experience, that is great service.

A wonderful, authentic restaurant situated in the quieter part of Stellenbosch. Their wood fired pizzas are exceptionally delicious. Medium thickness base, generous toppings, variety of choose and the option to opt for half-half at no additional charge.

First time here. Awesome James Brown pizza. Service was great and prices not too bad. Will come again.

Service was terrible. We waited more than an hour for one pizza. When the pizza came it was burnt and unpleasant. Would not recommend.

Despite having been disappointed by Piza e Vino's poor delivery service in the past (we had ordered and they 'forgot' about us), we decided to try them again. Our bad experience was repeated. We ordered at 5:30 and the pizza was only delivered at 7:20. We had to call the lady after an hour (after she had promised to phone to tell us when delivery was underway), only to hear that she is still waiting for delivery. When we finally got the pizzas, it was cold and looked terrible. The one pizza was supposed to have avocado, but only three small pieces featured. Piza e Vino responded that they 'ran out of avo'. They will not see us again. Terrible that businesses in this time think they can get away with such poor quality.

Ive been to Piza-e-Vino a number of times and although everything was not always perfect I could not complain in general.<br/>Yesterday evening however was my worst experience at PeV ever.<br/>I took two family members to introduce them to PeV and we arrived just after 19:30.  The seating was 90% full outside but inside was only a long table occupied by about 7 couples so we got a table no problem.<br/>We ordered withing a few minutes and sat back to relax with our drinks.<br/>Long story short, our three pizzas arrived just before 21:30.<br/>And because we all know from experience that the staff and kitchen can handle a full restaurant any day of the week without problems, this sounds a bit strange right?<br/>No, its because since I walked in there I could see a steady stream of takeaway pizzas being prepared and going out the door.<br/>The restaurant orders were like an after-thought and in between and I suggested to our helpful and apologetic waiter that takeaways should stop at say 6pm to give the kitchen a change to concentrate on the restaurant clientele but he just shrugged and said its a management decision.<br/>Also our (ekstra large) pizzas looked like the kitchen ran out of ingredients and a 25mm+ wide crust all around the three pizzas was burnt black and so hard it could not be eaten because the oven was too hot.<br/>To me this was an absolute waste of an outing and hard earned money and Im sorry but with all the better options in and around Stellenbosch I will not be going back.

The first time I came to this place I had terrible attitude and slow service from staff as well as the manager. My service today proved the same. <br/>I had disgustingly soggy food dripping with watery juices and undercooked fries. <br/>I got served a demi sec cocktail in the smallest champagne glass only to find out after complaining that this 100ml R65 drink was made with JC Le Roux Sparkling wine. As a winemaker who knows wine costing and quality this is UNACCEPTABLE. Manager never came back to our table after he realized his staff used the wrong “sparkling wine” for the drink and the staff stood and openly discussed how unreasonable I am WITH THE MANAGER. <br/>Piza ē Vino has uncultured, unprofessional and disrespectful staff who don’t know how to operate in the hospitality industry.

Wonderful atmosphere, pity that the service are lacking, that the time for waiting is going now 50min and counting. Would recommend this place for people that have time to wait.

Friendly and helpful staff provided fantastic service, manager/owner was hands on and came to check up on our table to ensure that we were well taken care of due to our waiter being an impressive trainee, pleasant atmosphere, and hands down some of the best pizza in town.

Nice place. Spacious and a great outside eating area. Pizza base is nice and thin and what’s great is you can have 2 different toppings on a large pizza. The staff was really nice and friendly and the service was great.

We had a wonderful lunch at Piza e Vino. We had two 50/50 large pizza and a side mama salad. The salad was R38 and was a lovely sized portion. Piza e Vino was also very welcoming with the Entertainer App. <br/>Service was great. 👍🏻

Very friendly waiter as well as manager. Both checked up on our table and the waiter was very helpful. <br/>Had the chicken dish (under non-pizza) with dijon mustard, white wine & parmesan sauce. With tagliatelle pasta. Was very rich, almost too rich but good nonetheless. I just think it should be served on a plate where you can cut the chicken instead of a bowl which makes it difficult. <br/>Perhaps I should have gone for a different side (compared to pasta) which might have made it lighter. <br/>There were also a few pieces of skin or sinew left on the chicken which was a bit odd and not great, but I just scraped them aside. <br/><br/>Other than that a relatively pleasant experience and will be back to try something else next time

We waited for an hour and a half for our food.<br/><br/>Once the food came, some of the orders were not right.<br/><br/>There was also a fly in the olive oil that was presented on the table.<br/><br/>Would not recommend.<br/><br/>

Piza e Vino ticks every box. Nice clean and modern setting, service that makes you feel special and excellent food that arrives in no time. <br/><br/>The pizza was absolutely delicious, true Italian style pizza! The dough is crispy and chewy, but light and fluffy, not burnt to a crisp. It’s also super tasty; really, you could almost just eat the dough, it’s that good.<br/><br/>Their menu is very extensive, but I think the pizzas are the stars of the show. They have a wide variety of topping choices, but we prefer the simpler versions. Less is more when it comes to pizza that’s this good.<br/><br/>I had half and half Pizza Collada and Regina, and my boyfriend had the Classic Margherita with extra salami. All three were super tasty, cheesy, and fresh from the oven. <br/><br/>The service was also impeccable. Very friendly staff, even those who didn’t serve us, and the waiter and the manager asked us whether we enjoyed our meal. I can’t remember the last time a manager made me feel so special. Our waiter also cleared our table regularly and was very helpful regarding the Entertainer app.<br/><br/>I can highly recommend Piza e Vino. Whether it’s for a date night, a family outing or an evening out with friends, they have something for everyone.

Sigh... where do I start... let's start with the good bits. The place is decorated in a very trendy New York meets Napa Valley style. The waiters are friendly and very attentive. My brother loved his meal - the Melrose Arch pizza. The chippies served with the burgers are super yum. And the coffee is really good. <br/><br/>However... it took almost 40min to receive our order. My mom's chicken burger was dry as the Sahara. Both my mom and my brother's burger buns were burnt/over charred. Let's not get stared with my fior di latte and its 2.5 basil leaves. If you going to list an item as an ingredient on the menu, I expect it to be on every slice. And if you're going make fior di latte, then best it not be a plain margherita with 2 sparing slices of fior di latte cheese. <br/><br/>It's a no from me.

Food is good. Service was slow and no Lemonade for a rock-shandy that was ordered. Had the tikka pizza - good flavour and Caprese salad. Will be back for a pizza

Enjoyed lunch with family at the restaurant. We ordered pizzas and were very delighted with the service. We received our pizzas shortly after ordering. Delicious toppings ( I especially enjoyed the Pavement Special).We sat outside with a view on children playing in the fountains. Will definitely be back for more after a pleasant experience =)

Food is mostly good. Been there at least 5 times and each experience was different. Sometimes the staff are not well informed and seem like they dont really want to be there. Food has mostly been good (pizza and pasta). Definitely not a place to order a steak dish.

Waited long for service. Ordered a pizza with "caramelised onions", but got slightly fried onions instead. This makes a big difference to taste. The waiter did not know the difference, but management did and gave 50% discount. Will go back!

A spur of the moment decision led us to Piza e Vino, and it was really worthwhile. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere, we sat outside and was able to leisurely enjoy our lunch. The Half and half pizza is such a great idea, between the two of us we were able to sample four different pizzas. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Perfection!! Pizzas are simply delicious, perfect base, perfect sauce and perfect amount of toppings! Also very unique. The venue is also beautiful and service friendly!! They have a special every Monday and Tuesday- two standard pizzas and two Peronis/glasses of wine for R129. We were completely satisfied after leaving! They also provide Parmesan, chili and garlic which is always a winner with any pizza restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Good pizza's! Wood fired, flavourful and filling. Possibly a bit over priced, and unfortunately doesn't have a typical Stellenbosch setting because it's in a square. Not much else to say except that it's worth checking out!

One of the best dining experiences I've had in Stellenbosch! This family- friendly restaurant has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff all have smiles on their faces. Small things like that make all the difference. Without asking about any specials, our waiter enlightened us with a selection of wine specials that were on offer at good prices. We settled for the La Couronne Sauv Blanc which came quickly with an ice bucket. I was pleasantly surprised by the good service and the increasing number of customers in the restaurant through the night.<br/><br/>Our food arrived promptly and my friends and I, having each ordered something different, thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My salad's ingredients were fresh and delicious. Had I been hungrier, I would have definitely opted for a pizza as the smells coming from the pizza oven were mouth-watering! I can't wait to go back!

Stellenbosch square very strange and pretty place at the same time! We decided to catch a quick bite while we were there and to our surprise on this rainy winter day it was bustling inside almost fully booked with the fireplace going keeping it nice and warm as things should be in winter;) soooo to the food! Zucchini pasta with Chicken & Broccoli with white wine sauce ... Nice and tasty I loved it good and healthy meal done!!! My boyfriend ate the Oxtail Ragú with zucchini pasta... He enjoyed it. Service and quality for money definite yes ...

Finally a proper Italian restaurant in Stellenbosch with reasonable prices ans good food. The pizzas were the best that I've tasted in Stellies and even though I didn't taste any pasta it still looked very appetising. <br/>Really beautifully rustic and Italian decor with a good wine list and excellent service. <br/>Definitely worth going back to. <br/>My favourite Italian restaurant in Stellies.

Beautiful restaurant, great staff that are incredibly friendly with a great atmosphere that supports its well priced menu. A must do for anyone that wants either pasta or pizza prior to a race.

Very sad management comes to the table to welcome you back (never set foot there before) and to ask you if everything is "still" ok? Was it? Actually did not get to respond as she walked away before I could... Will probably be back sadly because of great location

We landed up here by chance as we attended the Pizza and Wine festival, which was rather dismal so we went in search of pizza nearby and found this amazing gem! The service was great but the pizza was excellent! Best pizza I have had in a very long time. I also love that you can order half and half of the pizzas!

Wow. Wow. Wow. <br/>My roommate and I went out for a nice dinner at the Stellenbosch branch. We were not expecting such amazing food! <br/>I had the Grilled Picanha - well done and made to absolute perfection! My roommate had the Pavement Special pizza - what a light meal with such vibrant flavours! <br/>We then had dessert, the chocolate fondant and the crème brulee - again, amazed at the decidance of the desserts! <br/>Walter, our waitron, was good fun. Great service. Awesome vibe. definitely recommended!

I haven't had a pasta like that in ages, the oxtail ragu was delicious. With the intent of just ordering just a takeaway, I ended up sitting enjoying my dinner at the restaurant, and even after ordering my food as a takeaway the waiter was more then happy to accommodate me as a seated guest..The atmosphere is perfect, food is outstanding, and the most welcoming and attentive staff.
